Boulder, Colo. (June 7, 2026) – Today publisher Serenity Forge (Fractured Blooms, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus!) and developer Studio Meadowflower appeared at the XBOX Games Showcase 2026 to reveal Vivarium, a life-sim adventure featuring hand-illustrated art inspired by timeless anime classics. This nostalgic journey is coming to PC and XBOX in 2027 and is being developed in close collaboration with Crunchyroll and Shochiku Games.
Vivarium invites players to step into the role of 11-year-old Jenny, a bright and energetic resident of a tiny terrarium town. Free from the pressures of modern life, Jenny spends her days immersed in peaceful routines and charming interactions with her neighbors. But as time passes, mysterious events begin to unfold, revealing the true nature of their “perfect” pocket world and the secrets hidden within it.
In Vivarium, each real-world day introduces new story events and discoveries throughout its hand-painted overworld. Completing main quests and major story events progresses time, while each night provides unrestricted free time to unwind at home. Tend to your garden and cook new recipes, or decorate Jenny’s home while enjoying her growing collection of books and vinyl records.
Beyond its cozy slice-of-life gameplay, Vivarium also features a dynamic narrative and evolving world that encourages replayability. Your choices and conversations will affect the environments and people of the terrarium, influencing their stories and endings. Sprout quickly, little tree… but can this small world contain you?
