[Cologne, Germany] – [June 05th, 2026] – Indie developer Green Parrot Games today released the first gameplay trailer and public demo for Lucky Punk, its fast-paced “push-your-luck” roguelike deckbuilder where every risk is visible, every decision is yours, and every mistake hurts in exactly the way you were warned it would.
The demo is now available on Steam and Lucky Punk is featured as part of the Women-Led Games Showcase, highlighting upcoming games developed by teams with women in leading creative roles.
A fresh visual identity for the genre
Green Parrot Co-Founder, Art Director and renowned illustrator Sarah Burrini explains: “Most deckbuilders lean into grim fantasy and visual noise. We wanted Lucky Punk to feel louder, clearer, more vibrant and rebellious. The Zipatone comic style gives the world texture and attitude while still keeping the gameplay readable. Even though the setting is about collapse, the game itself is full of energy, optimism and weird humor. That contrast was really important to us.”
A deckbuilder that cuts the BS
Unlike traditional card battlers that hide probabilities behind layers of randomness, Lucky Punk always tells players the exact odds of failure before they act. So, at its core Lucky Punk is about the question of how much risk you are willing to take when you remove uncertainty. Do you draw another card or stop?
“We wanted to make a deckbuilder where the tension comes from your decisions, not hidden information,” says Brenden Gibbons, Co-Founder and Game Designer at Green Parrot. “You know the odds. You know the risk. The exciting part is that players still keep pushing anyway.”

Lucky Punk is currently in development for PC and will wreak havoc on Steam late 2026. The game is funded with support from the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW.
