Auto-Battler Mythmon Gets New PC Demo Today, Surreal Puzzler Children’s Garden Demo Coming Soon

Try out two Kodansha titles during Steam Next Fest, both launching in later this year

TOKYO — June 9, 2026 — Kodansha Creators’ Lab, the indie game publishing arm of entertainment company Kodansha Ltd., announces two new demos today ahead of June’s Steam Next Fest:

  • Mythmon: Mythic Monsters (formerly Magical Animals), a monster-taming hack-and-slash auto-battler developed by MachHabaneroGames. Train unstoppable squads of creatures in the new demo today ahead of its launch on PC via Steam in Q3 2026
  • Children’s Garden, a bizarre point & click horror puzzle game developed by Wellness Mechanism, seeks eternal rest with a new demo coming soon to both PC via Steam and Itch.io

Mythmon: Mythic Monsters

Thirty distinct mythical creatures stand at the ready, eager to do their part in taking down the Demon Lord. Assemble a mighty squad of five, devise an unstoppable battle plan, and watch as the platoon carries out battle strategies. The Steam Next Fest demo includes ten complete stages leading up to the first boss battle.

Plan out a plethora of positioning schemes by placing Mythmon in the Frontline, Backline, and Mid-Guard slots. Activate special synergies with 10+ status effects. Fight for ownership of 140+ tide-turning equipment pieces strewn across the battlefield, and enjoy full English localization at launch.Mythmon: Mythic Monsters arrives on PC via Steam in Q3 2026.

Children’s Garden

The only way out is up — stack a set of stairs out of sacred blocks to help a forlorn child escape a peculiar purgatory for juveniles (known as “Sai no Kawara” in Buddhist folklore). Fend off demons threatening to topple teetering towers, increase the child’s lifespan by completing special missions, and unravel the enigmas of the underworld between each tormenting test. The punishment is only eternal if you give up!

In the Steam Next Fest demo, join the Reincarnation Ethics Program and play the first two chapters, featuring a total of eight puzzle stages.Children’s Garden is now in development for PC via Steam.

Mythmon: Mythic Monsters arrives on PC via Steam in Q3 2026 with language options in English and Japanese. For more information, follow MachHabaneroGames on X / Twitter.
