Explore abandoned places or command your partner from the control van in this horrifying and hilarious co-op creepfest
Paris, France – May 21st, 2026 – Game Atelier, the acclaimed studio behind Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom and Otherskin, are pleased to announce that their upcoming asymmetrical horror game Follow Us will be launching on Steam Early Access on June 5th. In this hilarious and horrifying relationship stress test, one player explores a spooky environment, while another guides them remotely from the van, trying to keep their partner alive.
Each round begins with players choosing between two roles:
- The Explorer (EXY): Bravely navigate a deadly, haunted environment
- The Operator (OPY): Hang back safe in the van, hacking the playspace to protect their partner
Built on communication rather than complex mechanics, Follow Us creates tension by combining two different things: isolation and connection. Expect panic, shouting, and miscommunication. One wrong call can get your partner killed, and yes, it will probably be your fault.
Available levels
- Ökaou (from the demo): A maze-like Ikea store. OPY guides EXY through the layout and can trigger light cameras to freeze the mannequins that come to life.
- A Night with DJ Susan (new): A “spot the difference” puzzle level: OPY and EXY don’t see quite the same thing, and players must communicate to identify the anomalies.
- Employee of the Month (new): An invincible enemy stalks EXY throughout the entire level. OPY controls doors and tracks the creature’s position through an electrical system to keep their partner alive.
Every mission plays with fear in a different way… but they all end the same way: shared panic, bad decisions, and laughter. The Explorer experiences isolation and danger in the field, while the operator suffers through helplessness and constant pressure. Every swap creates a fresh emotional scenario, making each playthrough completely different with unexpected communication conflicts guaranteed to create creepy co-op chaos! Using lo-fi chunky PSone-inspired graphics, everything in Follow Us aims for a clean, immediately legible aesthetic so anyone can hop right into the action and understand its horrific hijinks!
“We really wanted to recreate that feeling we have all had while watching one of our friends play a horror game,” said Hugo at Game Atelier. “During one playtest, one player was curled up in fear while the other was yelling at them to keep moving forward through the level. That was the moment we knew the experience was working.
That’s Follow Us: a mix of fear, courage, trust, and responsibility that will seriously put your ability to communicate to the test.
Of course, Follow Us is still evolving, and we’re going to continue to iterate on it based on player feedback throughout Early Access. We’re looking forward to seeing how players respond to Follow Us’ communication-based co-op systems when it launches on May 28th!”
