Hertfordshire, 5th March 2026 – Today, KOEI TECMO Europe and developer Team NINJA invite all fans to discover the beginning of FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE in a brand-new demo, now available on PlayStation®5, Nintendo Switch™ 2, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC via Steam®. After completing the demo, players will be able to transfer their saved data to the full game when it launches on 12th March 2026.
In the demo of FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE, players follow twin sisters Mio and Mayu Amakura as they venture into Minakami Village. They begin their journey by exploring an abandoned house, guided by a crimson butterfly, where they’ll be armed with the newly upgraded Camera Obscura as they face terrifying encounters with wraiths. While immersing themselves in the enhanced graphics and sound, fans will try some of the new features implemented, such as holding Mayu’s hand.
Fans can now pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes the base game, the Digital Soundtrack and Digital Art Book, as well as the Digital Deluxe Bonus Set featuring the Deluxe Charm and costumes for Mio and Mayu*. A Digital Deluxe Upgrade is also available separately. Players who purchase a physical or digital version of the game before 25th March 2026 will receive the following early purchase bonuses: Wraith Charm, Peony Hair Ornament (Red)/Peony Hair Ornament (Blue), and Kimono (Red)/Kimono (Black).
Players who digitally pre-order the game before 12th March 2026 will receive the following: Spirit Charm, Cat Ears (White)/Cat Ears (Black), as well as the costumes Crimson Butterfly – Mio (Original)/Crimson Butterfly – Mayu (Original), inspired by outfits from the original game.
FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE is scheduled to release on 12th March 2026 on PlayStation®5, Nintendo Switch™ 2, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC via Steam®. The game features Japanese and English voiceovers, with text available in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Japanese.

This title is a full remake of FATAL FRAME/PROJECT ZERO II: Crimson Butterfly, the second game in the FATAL FRAME/Project Zero series, originally released for PlayStation®2 in 2003. It is a Japanese horror adventure game that begins with twin sisters Mio and Mayu Amakura as they visit a stream from their childhood that will soon be submerged by a dam.
