Pre-orders for physical edition available today for PS5 and Switch
TOKYO – 6 February 2025 – Momodora: Moonlit Farewell, the pixel art Metroidvania sequel to the 800,000 unit-selling Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight from developer Bombservice and publisher PLAYISM, launches today on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
As the beloved Momodora series concludes in this final chapter, Moonlit Farewell offers fans a final gauntlet of gatekeepers. Demonstrate mastery of combat and platforming prowess against the new end credits boss, and relive every earth-shattering face-off in rapid succession in the added Boss Rush Mode.
A distant bell tolls, forewarning impending disaster for the village of Koho and its sacred, life-giving Lun Tree. As Priestess Momo, heed the matriarch’s command and rush toward the source of danger. Unravel the mystery behind the bellringers, whose ominous chimes summon a devastating demonic invasion.
Journey through diverse biomes in search of the mind-controlling force behind the corruption. Explore the crumbling depths of the Old Sanctuary, the vibrant yet treacherous Fairy Springs, and the desolate ruins of Meikan Village. Battle relentless waves of possessed creatures—twisted flora, enchanted beasts, and cursed fairies—that do the bidding of the Moon God Selin, bent on world destruction.
Engage in fast-paced combat with fierce melee strikes and precise bow-and-arrow shots from afar. Customize Momo’s fighting style with the “Sigil” system, unlocking special enhancements like “The Hunter,” which boosts arrow damage when stamina remains full.
Tailor Momodora: Moonlit Farewell’s difficulty to taste and preferred style of play. Light Mode offers a relaxed experience highlighting the epic narrative, while Normal Mode increases enemy strength and reduces recovery time for a greater challenge.
PLAYISM and Bombservice have partnered with Limited Run Games to create a physical edition of Momodora: Moonlit Farewell on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, with pre-orders available today. This premium collector’s edition includes the official soundtrack, a Momo figurine, an enamel pin, and a double-sided poster. For pricing and additional information, visit the pre-order page here.
