Hertfordshire, 17th January 2025 – Today, KOEI TECMO Europe and developer Omega Force announced that their exhilarating tactical action game, DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS, is now available on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC via Steam®. Boasting the most intense combat and largest armies in DYNASTY WARRIORS franchise history, the 1 vs. 1,000 musou thriller transports players to a tumultuous, war-torn Three Kingdoms.
DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS introduces a new, deeper interpretation of the traditional Three Kingdoms storyline. From the “Yellow Turban Rebellion” to the climax of the “Battle of Chibi”, the story will transport players to the heart of an ancient China in turmoil. Through the eyes of a nameless hero, players will have to fight fiercely and make choices to restore peace, shape history to their own experience, battle enormous enemy armies, whilst navigating the chaos of the Three Kingdoms era.
DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS delivers an overwhelming sense of realism on every battlefield, with the largest number of soldiers in the series’ history to date. Enemy soldiers attacking cooperatively are a formidable threat, and players will not only fight with their own skills but also charge forward with their allies into massive enemy armies, allowing for a sense of realism on the battlefield of unprecedented scale where thousands of soldiers will collide.
The protagonist of this title takes to the battlefield alongside the heroes of the Three Kingdoms, wiping out swarms of enemies with swords, fists and various other weapons. Travelling across the world map as they embark on their epic journey, players can suppress rebellions or choose to rescue government forces during “Missions”, overcome “Skirmishes”, and visit various locations where they will be able to buy weapons. Throughout their quest, players will also encounter a variety of characters familiar to the DYNASTY WARRIORS franchise such as Cao Cao and Liu Bei. Depending on the bond forged, these characters can become travelling companions, or an enemy.
In 1 vs. 1,000 combat, players will have to master and alternate between swift and powerful attacks that can break an opponent’s guard. Repeated attacks will increase the protagonist’s “Bravery”, enabling them to use unique and powerful attacks called “Arts”. These “Arts” will be unique to each weapon, so it will be crucial for players to master the various arsenal at their disposal, gain “Rank” and improve their skills.
Not only will players have to master the protagonist’s various attacks if they want to emerge victorious on the battlefield, they will also have to strengthen their defence. By blocking enemy attacks at the right moment, a powerful riposte “Parry” can be unleashed, creating a breach in the enemy’s defence. Some attacks cannot be blocked, so players will have to dodge them before counterattacking.

DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS is now available as a Standard Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC via Steam®. Fans can also buy the “DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS TREASUREBOX”, which includes the base game, a Special Cloth Poster (B3), the Original Soundtrack, and an Original Book.
Everyone who purchase a physical or digital edition before 30th January 2025 will receive the Early Purchase Bonus, “Early Works Soundtrack Collection” as a bonus, which features tracks from previous titles of the series.
