New update available for “Pac-Man meets Lethal Company” comedy horror game Terrorbytes

Leap into a haunted arcade cabinet, now with ungodly new anomalies, bonus stages and more!

Vancouver, Canada, November 13th, 2024 – Publisher Over the Moon (The Fall, The Last Hero of Nostalgaia) and developer Treetop have today launched the first major update for their  4-player comedy horror game Terrorbytes on Steam Early Access. You can check out an all new trailer showcasing Terrorbytes’ retro arcade nightmarescape below:

Inspired by Tron, Stranger Things, and Lethal CompanyTerrorbytes follows four teenagers who get sucked into a haunted arcade cabinet and forced to gather pellets for the horrifically mangled retro arcade hero Ms. Croak-Man.

Terrorbytes features a nifty hook where all players share the same energy pool, which is used for all actions – even sprinting! So you’ve got to work as a team to collect pellets and keep your energy reserves in check, all while being hunted by arcade anomalies. There’s also plenty of cool upgrades and special items, ranging from a humble flashlight, to a satisfying power washer, to map-room upgrades that allow players to spawn helpful arrows, decoys, or broadcast their voice to other players. Can you survive long enough to uncover the mysterious evil that has trapped you, and escape?

This latest update offers enhanced performance boosts and adds two new remixed, damaged environments and two new anomalies. These include The Mannequin, which is your common “weeping angel” phantom who moves only when you’re not looking at it, and the Jester, who dances for you and really just wants attention. Or he gets frustrated and kills you. Figuring out what his whole deal is is something of a puzzle in itself!
