Partnership with Gothalion marks the start of Midwest Games’ growing creator program
Green Bay, WI (September 5, 2024) – Midwest Games—an industry veteran-led publisher whose mission is to support and showcase abundant talent across the Midwest and underrepresented regions—announces today a unique partnership with popular gaming streamer Cory “Gothalion” Michael.
The collaboration pairs Cory’s knowledge of indie games to benefit the publisher’s growing roster of titles. Midwest Games has enlisted Cory to advise on game development as an asset to their partner developers, weighing in on game priorities, player expectations, and trends. Additionally, Cory offers a marketing channel to introduce Midwest Games titles to his audience of more than 1.6M followers on Gothalion handles, including Twitch, Twitter, and YouTube.
Midwest Games initiated the partnership acknowledging the expertise streamers can offer in the sourcing, development, and launch processes of a game. The publisher intends to develop this as a program with more creators, offering direct access and marketing support to all incoming developers.
From Midwest Games CEO, Ben Kvalo, “We wanted to partner with creators earlier than launch. They are experts who know player expectations better than anyone and can only benefit our process in bringing games to market. Beyond his channel success, Cory has a fun, positive, and generous outlook that was an ideal fit for our mission.”
“I’m thrilled to be joining the Midwest team and help turn dream worlds into reality for developers and gamers from all over the world. After 11 years of streaming, it’s going to feel incredible to be able to seek and discover the next gaming gems,” adds Cory Michael. Based in Florida, Gothalion has been a leading voice in gaming for over a decade. His channels rose in popularity from his abilities in shooters like Destiny, but his content has expanded to other games, including Fallout 76, Borderlands, and Once Human, as well as indie titles like Bish Bash Bots, Islands of Insight, and Roboquest.
Cory has already shared his interest in Midwest Games’ action roguelike title, Hive Jump 2: Survivors, and has upcoming plans to stream the game on Twitch. Hive Jump 2: Survivors launches on September 10, 2024 via Steam and GOG.
