Baldur’s Gate III Announced for Xbox Series X in 2023

It looks like those who play on the Xbox Series X/S won’t have to wait until sometime next year to play Baldur’s Gate III as Larian Studios has announced that they now plan on releasing the title on the Xbox platform sometime this year. Previously, the company did not have a set release window for the title on Xbox despite the PlayStation 5 version arriving in a few weeks on September 6th and the PC version arriving earlier this month to critical acclaim but that is no longer the case.

The Xbox Series X version of the game will offer all of the same capabilities as what is found in the PlayStation 5 release of the game but those playing on the Xbox Series S will find themselves a bit more limited as the game will not support split-screen cooperative play, it will instead only support online multiplayer. Cross-save between the PC release and the Xbox versions will remain supported according to Larian Studios’ CEO Swen Vincke.
