LOS ANGELES — August 31, 2021 — World of Darkness, the transmedia entertainment brand behind celebrated fantasy horror properties including Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: The Apocalypse, and more, has officially revealed season five of it’s hit actual-play Vampire: The Masquerade series, LA By Night. Season five concludes this chronicle’s story, wrapping up the dark tale of personal horror and inhuman conspiracy across nine episodes, premiering Friday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific / 10:00 PM Eastern on the World of Darkness Twitch channel. After their Twitch debut, episodes will be uploaded to the World of Darkness YouTube channel for fans who missed the live broadcast.
“One of the first, and longest-running, actual-play shows on Twitch, LA By Night is a fan-favorite for the Vampire: The Masquerade vamily,” Jason Carl, Brand Marketing Manager for World of Darkness and Storyteller for LA By Night, said. “Season five is our most ambitious story yet and the cast roleplays a passionate tale that will resonate in your very blood. While this marks the end of our current chronicle, it is not the end of LA By Night.”
LA By Night is the official actual-play show from World of Darkness using the Vampire: The Masquerade role-playing game system. The show follows a coterie, or group of vampires, as they struggle to survive the terrors of the Los Angeles night and uncover the city’s hidden secrets. Jason Carl returns as the show’s signature Storyteller, the Game Master who guides the coterie through their insidious tale of macabre affairs. Things rarely go as planned for the group of vampires; however, as the story weaves into unexpected, and unscripted, places.LA By Night features a celebrity cast of role-players, including Erika Ishii, known for their work as Valkyrie in Apex Legends and Lumu in Halo Infinite, B. Dave Walters who fans may recognize from Black Dice Society, and many more. In addition to the returning cast, season five sees some unexpected new faces who play characters with their own hidden agendas.
The LA By Night cast includes:
- Erika Ishii as Annabelle: Erika Ishii (she/they) is an actor known primarily for their voiceover work in video games and animation, including roles in Apex Legends, Halo Infinite, Destiny 2 and more.
- Annabelle – An idealistic Brujah, Annabelle uses her vampire powers to agitate for change against the status quo. She refuses to accept the oppressive tyranny and rigid hierarchies of undead society.
- B. Dave Walters as Victor Temple: B. Dave Walters is best known as the writer and co-creator of Electropunk and Dungeons & Dragons: A Darkened Wish. He is also the creator and DM of official Dungeons & Dragons actual play shows, including The Black Dice Society.
- Victor Temple – Unlike most vampires who try to hide carefully from human attention, Victor adopts the dangerous strategy of hiding in plain sight. A master of strategy, politics, and hype, Victor seized the opportunity to become the leader of a large territory in Los Angeles.
- Alexander Ward as Jasper: Alexander Ward is an actor who specializes in monsters and other inhuman characters. His work includes Westworld, American Horror Story, SpongeBob SquarePants, Annabelle Comes Home and Army of the Dead.
- Jasper – The reclusive Nosferatu has functioned as the “big stick” for some powerful vampire leaders. Stealthy and dangerous, he has no reservations about punishing other vampires.
- Cynthia Marie as Nelli G: Cynthia Marie has appeared as Girasol on Gilding Light’s Sirens, Cora Malphoon for DnDLive 2020, and various guest roles on tabletop RPG streams.
- Nelli G – A former member of the Camarilla faction who fled her controlling sire, Nelli joined the Anarch Movement in Los Angeles to pursue her own path. Beautiful, deadly, and unwilling to be subjugated again, this Toreador builds a personal empire in the worlds of fashion and entertainment.
- Xander Jeanneret as X: Xander Jeanneret has appeared in many popular tabletop RPG actual play streams, including Renegade’s Power Rangers: Day of Destiny, Shikar, and Relics and Rarities. He also fronts the Library Bards, a nerd parody band.
- X – A member of the Malkavian clan, X experiences undeath through his gift of second sight. He sees premonitions, omens, signs and portents everywhere, but his warnings are often difficult to understand. His outlook has grown darker as he seeks revenge on powerful Kindred who have done him wrong.
- Josephine McAdam as Eva: Josephine McAdam’s work can be seen in film, TV & web-series. Some of her roles include Tower, (Emmy award winner & Criterion film), The Mortuary Collection, Scare Package, Hard Reset (Lumiere award winner) and HBO’s The Leftovers season 2.
- Eva – As complex as she is powerful, this Tremere blood witch defies easy categorization. Eva dislikes most other vampires, yet has no choice but to deal with them frequently as she tries to navigate the various dangers of undead existence.
