Aquaplus and Tamsoft have announced that they are continuing the musou spinoffs for Utawarerumono as the company has announced that Utawarerumono: ZAN 2 will be releasing in Japan on July 22nd for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. To go along with this announcement the company released a number of screenshots as well as a debut trailer featuring parts of the opening video and some gameplay footage. It is worth noting that considering Utawarerumono: ZAN 2 is set after the events of not only the first game but also after the first visual novel, players may not want to watch it in an effort to avoid spoiling themselves.
Utawarerumono: ZAN 2 will feature not only a number of new playable characters but has also seen a number of changes since the first game in response to player feedback and the company has noted that, since the original voice actor for Haku has passed away, that any new scenes featuring the character will be voiced by Keiji Fujiwara.
