NEW RELEASE DATES FOR NINTENDO SWITCH, NINTENDO 3DS AND amiibo ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM APRIL’S NINTENDO DIRECT PRESENTATION

Nintendo Switch Dock Set, Super Smash Bros. amiibo and Dr Kawashima’s Devilish Brain Training: Can you stay focused? coming soon

May 16th, 2017 – April’s Nintendo Direct presentation revealed exciting details about several new and upcoming Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS games, and nine new additions to the amiibo range. Today, Nintendo announces the latest release dates for three anticipated releases in Australia and New Zealand:

  • Nintendo Switch Dock Set: Including a Nintendo Switch dock, HDMI cable and AC adaptor, the Nintendo Switch Dock Set allows for the Nintendo Switch to be played in TV mode, and also charges the Nintendo Switch and Joy-Con. The Nintendo Switch Dock Set is identical to the Nintendo Switch dock, HDMI cable and AC adaptor that is included with the Nintendo Switch system, and is ideal for those with multiple TVs. The Nintendo Switch Dock Set will launch on 26th May for a suggested retail price of AU$129.95.
  • Super Smash Bros. amiibo*: Initially announced as releasing on 22nd July, the final Super Smash Bros. amiibo figures will now launch a day earlier on

21st July. Two versions of Cloud, Corrin and Bayonetta amiibo figures will hit store shelves alongside the three new Splatoon amiibo figures – Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy and Inkling Squid – for SRP AU$17.95 each.

  • Dr Kawashima’s Devilish Brain Training: Can you stay focused?: The third entry in the series, this game seeks to train players’ brains with a series of challenging concentration-based exercises. The game will be released on 29th July for SRP AU$49.95.

* In order to use amiibo, those with a New Nintendo 3DS or New Nintendo 3DS XL can tap the amiibo directly to their system, whereas those with a Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL or Nintendo 2DS can use the Nintendo 3DS NFC Reader/Writer accessory (sold separately).
