A brand new Japanese trailer from Square Enix for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue has launched with a particular focus on Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth by Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage. The soundtrack is awesome, the graphics look spectacular and really polished up from earlier trailers and the bosses and battles look incredible, I was especially enjoying that chain attack against all the basic heartless.
It looks like Sora, Donald and Goofy will also be making an appearance in 0.2 Birth by Sleep in some capacity but the trailer merely teases this. Aside from a few new lines of dialogues and locations the biggest feature the trailer quickly included was the ability to equip custom parts on Aqua such as cat ears, Minnie Mouse ears, shoulder armour and some decorations for her back. You can also change the colour of some of these items from a pre-made selection. It is unclear if equipping this ‘armour’ grants any stat bonuses or other abilities but it sure looks cool and I’m sure most fans will love this feature.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue, which contains a high-def remaster of Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, the Kingdom Hearts χ [chi]: Back Cover film, and the new Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth by Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage, is currently set to be released on the PlayStation 4 on January 12th in Japan and on January 24th in North America and Europe.
