‘The Boy and the Beast’ Wins Best Animation of the Year at the JMC Awards

Mamoru Hosoda’s latest anime film The Boy and The Beast has won the Best Animation of the Year award at the Japan Movie Critics Awards. These are the 25th annual Japan Movie Critics Awards.

Mamoru Hosoda previously won the same award in 2013 with his film Wolf ChildrenThe Boy and the Beast has also won multiple other awards and was nominated for more.

The film premiered with the English dub in North American cinemas earlier this year on March 4. It premiered in Australia on March 3. The English dub was produced in close consultation with Mamoru Hosoda. FUNimation Entertainment is releasing the film on home video in North America on June 7. Madman Entertainment’s Australian home video release will follow on July 6.
