Six More Universities Join Crytek’s VR First Initiative

Crytek’s academic program has helped to establish VR Labs on 14 university campuses since launching earlier this year

Frankfurt am Main (Germany) May 12, 2016 – Crytek today announced that six more universities have joined their VR First academic initiative, bringing the total number of participating schools worldwide to 14.

VR First launched in January this year, and supports grassroots VR development by establishing dedicated VR Labs on university campuses. Each VR lab offers students easy access to Crytek’s CRYENGINE software and state-of-the art VR hardware from leading technology partners.

The latest wave of universities to sign up for VR First spans three continents and gives the initiative a presence in four new countries. The new academic partners are:

The University of Canterbury (New Zealand), Kajaani University of Applied Sciences (Finland), University College London (UK), Manchester Metropolitan University (UK), Oklahoma University (USA), and Tallinn Technical University (Estonia).
