EMERYVILLE, Calif. – January 28, 2016 – Nexon and Envision Entertainment have launched Path of War, a massively multiplayer mobile strategy game, to the App Store for iPhone and iPad and on Google Play for Android devices. Path of War blends action, strategy and MMO genres and features deep base-building mechanics and fast-paced tactical battles for an intense gameplay session every time players pick up their devices. With a 1:1 scale map of the United States functioning as the game board, Path of War offers a persistent massively multiplayer experience with player-vs-player (PVP) skirmishes. Each squadron begins at the Pacific Ocean and races their mobile base across the United States, battling for control of the nation.

Path of War is the culmination of years of creating games that mesh living game worlds, open alliance systems, strategic base building and tactical PVP combat.” said Dirk Ringe, CEO of Envision Entertainment. “We’ve worked closely with Nexon to refine the gameplay and to build an experience that will last for years to come. We cannot wait to see the chaos flare up between alliances as they race across the map to claim D.C!”

Set in a bleak near-future United States, infrastructure has failed and rebel militias must now battle a corrupt military regime to wrestle back control of the nation’s capital, stabilizing and rebuilding what remains of the country. Players will design, construct, and expand every detail of their high-tech base which they will move across the U.S. on their eastward journey to Washington, D.C., launching intense assaults against other players along the way.

“Envision Entertainment has helped to create unforgettable free-to-play experiences with established franchises like Command & Conquer and Ultima, which we’ve all personally sunk hundreds of hours into,” said John Robinson, General Manager at Nexon M. “The persistent living world they’ve built in Path of War adds an entirely new dynamic to faction-based multiplayer games on mobile that will keep you on your toes every time you sign on.”

Territory expansion across the 1:1 map of the U.S. is the key to success in Path of War. Players will attack enemy encampments to grow their dominion by collecting base upgrades, valuable loot and defense bonuses. Working with allies can enhance players’ ability to control vital territory, as larger alliances open the door to faster strategic takeovers. As friends and foes influence each other, alliances can be forged freely between players on the persistent world map which features real-world geographical locations. Wielding a massive array of weapons, infantry, and armored vehicles, each player will carve out their own path of war.

Path of War is available now as a free download on the App Store for iPhone and iPad and Google Play for Android devices.
