RIOT ANNOUNCES INTERNATIONAL WILD CARD ALL-STARS

Riot Games Oceania has today announced they will be hosting the first international League of Legends esports event in Oceania – the International Wild Card All-Stars (IWCA).

IWCA will take place from 26 – 29 November, seeing Oceania, Turkey, Russia, Japan, Brazil, South East Asia and Latin America regions compete at the prestigious Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne, which is home to the Australian Open. The first two days of round robin will be broadcast live, with the playoffs being held in front of a live audience on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November.

Over the two live days, fans can take part in player signings and photo opportunities before taking their seat to watch the international teams battle it out in a bid to be crowned the All-Stars Champions. The winners will then travel to Los Angeles to take part in the ASE (All-Star Event) on 10-13 December at the NA LCS studios.

“We are really excited to hold IWCA in Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena. It’s going to be great to see players putting aside their team rivalries to represent their regions. We hope fans from around the world rally behind their All-Star teams”, says Daniel Ringland, Esports Manager, Riot Games Oceania

Esports fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite players to represent their region at IWCA between 21 – 28 September via the League of Legends client.

Over 6,000 tickets for the live weekend event will go on sale 7 September. Ticket Prices (includes booking fee and GST):

  • Saturday 28 November: Single IWCA ticket, RRP $25
  • Sunday 29 November: Single IWCA ticket, RRP $30

HOYTS will also be hosting viewing parties at cinemas across Oceania, with tickets available from 7 September.
