Aniplex USA to Release the First Arc of ‘Durarara!!x2’ on Home Video Starting September

Aniplex of America announced at their panel at Anime Expo today that they will be releasing the first arc of Durarara!!x2 on DVD and Blu-ray later this year. Volume 1 is scheduled for release on September 29 and volume 2 is scheduled for release on November 24.

Volume 1 will feature episodes 1-6 with the original Japanese audio, the English dub and English and Spanish subtitles. On-disc extras will include a cast interview video and the textless opening and ending animation. Physical bonuses will include a 16-page deluxe booklet, illustration postcards and double-sided wraps for the cases featuring illustration by Character Designer Takahiro Kishida. The DVD release of volume 1 will have a suggested retail price of $59.98, but can be pre-ordered here for $49.98. The Blu-ray release of volume 1 will have a suggested retail price of $99.98, but can be pre-ordered here for $79.98.

Volume 2 will feature episodes 7-12 with the original Japanese audio, the English dub and English and Spanish subtitles. The OVA episode 4.5 will be included as an extra with the same language options as the main episodes. Physical bonuses will again include a 16-page deluxe booklet, illustration postcards and double-sided wrap for the clear cases featuring an illustration by Takahiro Kishida. The DVD release of volume 2 will have a suggested retail price of $59.98, but can be pre-ordered here for $49.98. The Blu-ray release of volume 2 will have a suggested retail price of $99.98, but can be pre-ordered here for $79.98.

Half a year after the turmoil that rocked the entire city of Ikebukuro – Peace has once again returned to the city and people are living each day normally. The high school students enjoy their days of youth as the strongest and most dangerous man of Ikebukuro works diligently. The informant plots a new scheme and the headless rider is pursued by the cops as she rides through the night. But soon this ordinary life will be cut short by the extraordinariness. Slowly but surely, the unknown will seize the city and face an all new storm.
