GAMEVIL announces record year with 16% growth in 2013

LOS ANGELES, CA- February 12, 2013- Leading mobile games publisher and developer GAMEVIL today announced its 2013 fourth quarter and annual results, reporting record quarterly and annual sales and its best year to date.

During the 2013 fiscal year, GAMEVIL recorded 81.2 billion KRW ($76.4 million USD) in sales, 12.1 billion KRW ($11.4 million USD) in operating profit, and 14.0 billion KRW ($13.2 million USD) in net profit, reflecting a 16% growth in sales over 2012 results.

In the fourth fiscal quarter of 2013, GAMEVIL recorded 22.4 billion KRW ($21.1 million USD) in sales, 1.8 billion KRW ($1.7 million USD) in operating profit, and 2.8 billion KRW ($2.6 million USD) in net profit. Operating profits saw a slight decrease due to aggressive investment costs, but overall profits were stable due to record sales.

The 2013 fiscal year was highly noted for record overseas sales which grew 68%, now accounting for 57% of overall sales, up from 39% in 2012. Uniform growth was maintained across all regions, with Asia, Europe, and Latin America more than doubling in sales. Korean sales also recovered this quarter thanks to the domestic launch of flagship ‘ZENONIA Online’. GAMEVIL attributes its growth to steady sales across successfully launched titles such as ‘Monster Warlord’, ‘Fishing Superstars’, and ‘Dark Avenger’, and the launch of new hits such as ‘ZENONIA Online’ and ‘Spirit Stones’.

Through its systemized growth approach, GAMEVIL projects 120 billion KRW ($113 million USD) in sales for 2014. GAMEVIL is set to launch more than 30 titles, including various franchise sequels such as ‘Dynasty Warlord’, ‘Legend of Master Online’, and ‘Dark Avenger 2’ (Tentative title), and the global launch of ‘ZENONIA Online’. The pipeline includes games of core genres such as sports, strategy and RPG as well as a new ‘Mobile Online RPG’ genre, which is projected to be the equivalent of a ‘Multiplayer Online RPG’ on PC for mobile.

Going forward, GAMEVIL plans to collaborate with recently acquired Com2uS in developing a ‘global service mobile games platform’. The integrated platform of GAMEVIL Circle and Com2uS Hub is expected to bring synergy and an expanded userbase by combining the respective know-how and experience of each company. With more than 30 games on deck and an integrated platform in development, GAMEVIL is poised to continue its status as the global leader in mobile game developing and publishing.
