Disney has launched the award-winning Facebook game Marvel: Avengers Alliance for the iOS. It is free for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch right now. Download here.
Soon to also hit Android devices, Marvel: Avengers Alliance features turn-based combat in a RPG experience that features a cast of more than 40 fan-favorite Marvel Super Heroes and 180 Super Villains (out-numbered much?!). The game takes place in the wake of a galaxy-wide disaster known as “the Pulse,” which exposes Manhattan to attack from the world’s most formidable villains. Players are recruited as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., to enlist and lead teams of Super Heroes, such as Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Spider-Man and more.
Players unlock Super Hero allies and abilities, train their teams, and test their mettle against the deadliest foes the world has ever seen. All of the epic story developments that have unfolded in Marvel: Avengers Alliance on Facebook are available for play on launch across over 60 crime-fighting missions, with additional missions and chapters to come. We can expect ongoing updates from developer Playdom, with new missions, storylines, Super Heroes, upgraded abilities, equipment, weapons and costumes becoming available for purchase.
