The latest game in the Tekken franchise is going to be used in a tournament dedicated to winning a record in the Guiness World Records. The record that is going to be set by Namco Bandai is the record for the largest screen used in a video game tournament.
The record will be taking the attempt to be set on the 11th of September, 2012 over at the IMAX theatre in Sydney, Australia. 400 combatants have been selected to participate in the tournament already.
On the record, Namco Bandai had this to say –
Mark Gilbert, Sales & Marketing Director for NBP said, “Tekken is the big daddy of fighting games and there’s no better way to find Australia’s next Tekken Champion than playing off head-to-head – on the world’s biggest screen!”
Further, a representative from Guiness had this to add –
Chris Sheedy, Australian representative of Guinness World Records added, “As technology continues to astound and amaze, the field of entertainment and gaming is constantly becoming bigger and better. And there’s no bigger gaming experience than Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on an IMAX screen. I’m thrilled to be witnessing a new record being set in such spectacular circumstances.”
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be releasing on the 13th of September, 2012 here in Australia.
