Michael Bay’s Ninja Turtles To Start Filming This Year

Shell-shocking!

According to The Province, The Michael Bay-produced Ninja Turtles adaptation is set to begin this year, with Paramount Pictures looking at principal photography this summer or early fall in Vancouver. The turtles will most likely be motion capture CGI, just like the Apes in Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011).

For those not up-to-date, this new adaptation will be quite different to how you may remember the Ninja Turtles, mainly because they’re Ninja Turtles not Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. That’s right! They’re aliens now, but apparently they’ll still act like teenagers. The only plot details listed so far are the following:

“Aliens invade Earth and inadvertently spawn a quartet of mutated reptile warriors, the Ninja Turtles, who rise up against them to defend the world.”
-IMDB

The turtles are expected to come out of their shells and fight crime on December 25, 2013.
