The Commodore 64 comes to the Apple iPhone & iTouch !!

It´s finally here – the best-selling single personal computer of all time, with over 30 million units sold worldwide.  I for one love my Commodore 64. (I still have it connected with both Tape and Disc drive working like a charm)  I rememeber waiting over 10 mins to load up such classic games as The Last Ninja, Target Renegade, Ghosts n’ Goblins, Bombjack, Dragon’s Lair just to name a few .. I could go on and on but i’ll stop right there.

Now thanks to the great people over at Manomio you can play the classics once again on your iPhone and many many more once they become available via the App Store.

This is a fantastic opportunity to relive your childhood all over again on the iPhone or Itouch anywhere you go without those annoying load times 😉

Check out some of the key features that C64 for the iPhone/iTouch has available :

– Original Commodore 64 game graphics

– Original SID sound

– Auto-save, to continue exactly where you left off

– Realistic joystick and beautifully crafted C64 keyboard

The is something that most of you who loved your C64 as much as I did are going to really appreciate.  At the moment there are only 5 games available to play for free once you purchase C64.  But as Manomio have stated more will become available in time.  Below are the 5 initial titles

Now the question : How much and when can I get it ??  Well the C64 was released but due to some a technical glitch it was pull off the App store while Manomio was able to resolve it.  And they have.  Read below informaion released on the 8th September regarding this :

Download Now from the Apple App Store :

Unfortunately, Apple has pulled the C64 Application from their store as it was discovered by some users that it was possible to enable the Basic program through the interface. We have now fixed the issue and our application has been re-submitted for approval by Apple.

We thank you all for your support and fingers crossed we hope to launch again over the next few days.

Keep an eye out on the App Store in the new few days as C64 will make its return and you will then be able to relive your youth once again !!
