This morning on Xbox Wire, Microsoft Flight Simulator announced that the Microsoft Flight Simulator – Dune Expansion update is now available to download. The expansion is available for free to all owners of Microsoft Flight Simulator, including those playing via Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass.

The Dune Expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator allows players to pilot the iconic aircraft from the Dune movies, the Royal Atreides Ornithopter, over the deserts and through the canyons of the planet of Arrakis. Players can take the Ornithopter through three tutorial missions and six activities, including time trials and a daring rescue mission to save your flight instructor before a massive sandstorm hits. As players are flying around Arrakis, this marks the first time the Microsoft Flight Simulator series has explored a fictitious world.

Along with the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator – Dune Expansion, Xbox has also unveiled the world’s first floating Xbox Wireless Controller, a custom Dune-inspired Xbox Series S and an Ornithopter-shaped dock for the console. Story
