STARLIGHT GAMES, a new and pioneering video game studio based in Liverpool, UK lead by Gary Nichols and well-known industry experienced developers, has been set up to develop new IP that focuses on innovative gameplay experiences that are visually stunning. HOUSE OF GOLF 2 is a sequel to the successful HOUSE OF GOLF released on the Nintendo Switch in 2019. The new game is developed with Unreal 5, and it takes the fun approach of mini-golf and brings it into the home with over 100 incredible courses, gorgeous visuals, weekly tournaments, and many crazy ways to play. With many of its unique and tricky challenges designed by one of the company’s young and passionate game designers who joined the studio after graduating from a local university. The game also features couch-based 4-player multiplayer and is coming in the summer.

Denmark’s Those Eyes and Canadian studio Tobo are developing Mouse & Crane for Switch, a single-player and cooperative play puzzle-based adventure. It will be a younger child’s perfect first game, offering teachable moments through upcycling, recycling, and construction.

Mouse & Crane is a charming indie IP that focuses on the adventures of three best friends and encourages players to solve puzzles and challenges imaginatively. Children will be able to build new things with everyday tools such as a screwdriver or a glue gun-–inspiring kids and their parents to undertake Do-It-Yourself (DIY) activities together. The art design will be a unique hand-drawn collage style reminiscent of cozy picture books.

“Video games are a staple in most households. Parents and older siblings are playing some type of game. FuturLab’s hit PowerWash Simulator reaches over 12 million players as the studio launches new website

WayForward wraps a deep, intergalactic mystery in a side-scrolling Metroidvania adventure

New York, NY (April 17, 2024) – Yars is back! Today, Atari® — one of the world’s most iconic consumer brands and interactive entertainment producers — is delighted to announce a collaboration with renowned development studio WayForward Technologies (Shantae, River City Girls) to create a decidedly modern chapter in the storyline of Yars’ Revenge, Atari’s best-selling first-party game for the 2600. The new title, Yars Rising, comes to PC and consoles in late 2024.

In Yars Rising, players take control of the young hacker Emi Kimura, who is hired by a mysterious patron to infiltrate the shadowy Qotech corporation. Run, jump, sneak, and hack a way through challenges to unravel layers of intrigue in this expansive sci-fi mystery. Embark on Emi’s journey to decipher the mystery of the corporation’s closely guarded secret and uncover her inexplicable bond with a far-off alien race.

WayForward has built a reputation for developing franchises featuring strong characters and rich storytelling. In Yars Rising, the studio delivers a side-scrolling Metroidvania adventure with platforming action, a balance of stealth and combat gameplay, and retro-inspired mini-games.
