First Dwarf – The dwarven scout embarks on a do-or-die mission on June 19th – This is the perfect time to gather everything you might need to conquer the floating islands

Warsaw, Poland, June 10, 2024 – Developers from Star Drifters are proud to announce the release date of their latest game – First Dwarf. It will be available in Early Access on Steam starting June 19th. To mark the occasion, they unveiled a new trailer. Players excited to explore this unique blend of genres can also try out the demo version now on Steam.

During the open tests held between March and April, almost 25,000 people played First Dwarf. This shows how many players wait for the chance to experience the adventures of the dwarf Tru and his dragoness companion, Ragna. The game attracts players with its diverse gameplay that combines the most desired features of colony survival, action RPGs, city builders, and tower defence games.

The story developed by the team at Star Drifters will immerse players in the world of Driftland, a realm consisting of floating islands. On one of these islands, a dwarf crash-lands while on a mission to find a new home for his kin. The hero must survive in an unknown and hostile environment to transform the island into a haven for future settlers. Fortunately, Tru won’t be alone in his mission. He’ll be aided by the dragoness Ragna and a mighty mech, which he’ll operate himself to move around the island, collect resources, and build.

First Dwarf also features online and local co-op modes, allowing two players to join forces and take on the roles of either the dwarf or the dragoness, exploring, building, and uncovering new adventures together. The fun won’t be limited to just one island. As Tru progresses, he’ll visit various diverse and mysterious locations, expanding the scope of adventure and discovery. Everything is part of an effort to save the dwarves and uncover the truth about the expedition that his father disappeared on years ago.

Monday, 10^th June 2024 – Team17 Digital have today revealed their lineup for this summer’s Steam Next Fest. From 10^th-17^th June, five titles from the indie publisher will have demos available to play on Steam.

SWORN  – Set in the heart of Arthurian legends, players will team up in a fallen Camelot under the control of a corrupted King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. A co-op action rogue-like, SWORN challenges payers to unite with up to three friends to defeat a corrupt King Arthur, combining over 200 unique Blessings of the Fae with unique characters, weapons, and abilities to craft the perfect build.

Players will be able to access the first two biomes and a selection of characters and weapons as part of the Steam Next Fest demo.

Amber Isle – Amber Isle welcomes players to the eponymous Amber Isle, a friendly village fit to bursting with an eclectic mix of prehistoric animals (Paleofolk). As the new (and only) shopkeep on Amber Isle, it falls to players to stock their store with everything their Paleo-pals might need. Does the microraptor need a micro-chair? The plesiosaur some water-proof paper?

The demo grants players access to the first two hours of Amber Isle, allowing them to dip their toe into Paleo-life, getting to grips with new residents, building a house, gathering resources, and exploring the Forest region.

Thalassa Edge of the Abyss – Take to the depths in an atmospheric story of sorrow and self-discovery onboard Thalassa: Edge of the Abyss. Play as Cam, a deep-sea diver exploring the sunken wreckage of their former home. Descend into the depths to piece together clues left behind in the wreck, and discover what really happened to the crew in the final moments onboard the ship.

With around 45 minutes of gameplay, the demo contains the ‘first chapter’ of Thalassa, giving players a peek into the mysteries and puzzles that await in the murky depths.

CONSCRIPT – Set in 1916 during the Great War, CONSCRIPT throws players into the shoes of a French soldier searching for their missing brother. Featuring a grainy pixelated art style, players will experience a return to the classic era of survival horror as they solve challenging environmental puzzles and take on encounters with limited supplies.

The CONSCRIPT demo contains around an hour of gameplay and contains countless quality of life and bug updates compared to the 2022 Scream Fest demo. Localisation is also now available for all languages expected at launch. 

WARCANA – A fantasy inspired base defence RTS with deck building mechanics. In WARCANA players face hundreds of thousands of unrelenting monsters in a battle royale against up to 29 other players where they must play their cards right to reign victorious.

The WARCANA demo includes a 30-player horde mode, access to three devotions, and 10 single player missions for players to try out.
