SYDNEY. AUSTRALIA – JUNE 11, 2024 – Today during the Ubisoft Forward Conference, Ubisoft showcased a Gameplay Walkthrough for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the upcoming installment in the series that will immerse players into the chaos of 16th century Japan. With development led by Ubisoft Québec*, the game will release worldwide on November 15 on Ubisoft+**, PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, Macs with Apple silicon via the Mac App Store***, and Windows PC through the Ubisoft Store and the Epic Games Store. Ubisoft also announced today the game will be coming to iPad*** at a later date.
As the official CPU and GPU partner for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Intel and Ubisoft have joined forces once again to benefit gamers globally. Assassin’s Creed Shadows, built from the ground up in the latest version of Anvil, will be optimized for Intel’s performance hybrid core architecture, ensuring the best experience happens on Intel Core 14th Gen processors. The Gameplay Walkthrough mission shown at the conference takes place in the castle town of Fukuchiyama in Tamba Province, where Naoe and Yasuke are hunting down a corrupted daimyo. The gameplay illustrates the complementary dynamic between the two playable heroes: Naoe, the agile and stealthy Shinobi, and Yasuke, the combat-focused Samurai. Fighting on opposite sides at the beginning of the game, they will unite around common goals. As they usher in a new era for Japan, players will be able to switch characters at any time in the open world and make use of their unique mix of skills and weapons to tackle situations and face varied enemies in different ways:
Naoe embodies the essence of a Shinobi Assassin. From a versatile grappling hook that allows for stealthy in-air assassinations and greater mobility, to kunai and her custom Hidden Blade for swift eliminations, she has access to a diverse arsenal of tools to strike from the shadows. While more vulnerable in close combat, she can skillfully deflect, dodge enemy strikes, and retaliate with lethal precision, using light, her surroundings, and structures around her to topple her foes.
Yasuke is tailored for direct confrontations, relying on his exceptional combat skills and mastery of Samurai weaponry. Whether wielding the Katana for decisive strikes, opting for raw power with the Kanabo, or engaging opponents from a distance with lethal flint rifle called Teppo, he can handle multiple enemies at once.
In addition, players can take advantage of a new exploration feature called the “Spy Network”. Naoe and Yasuke can send out their spies to scout locations to uncover useful information about target locations, habits, and other world secrets.
Players who purchase the Gold Edition, Ultimate Edition, Collector Edition, or with a Ubisoft+ Premium subscription, can play the game three days early on November 12. Fans pre-ordering Assassin’s Creed Shadows will receive an additional quest for any pre-ordered edition.

At Ubisoft Forward, a new gameplay showcase video follows Kay Vess on a mission to Mos Eisley to track down an expert gunslinger.
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – JUNE 11, 2024 – Today, during the Ubisoft Forward Conference, a new gameplay showcase for Star Wars Outlaws™ debuted. The gameplay video follows emerging scoundrel Kay Vess on a mission to Tatooine to find an expert gunslinger and convince them to help her upgrade her skills with a blaster. In addition, a game overview trailer for Star Wars Outlawspremiered, providing a look into Kay and Nix’s past, the high-risk jobs they can take on, and the distinct locations they can explore in the open-world Star Wars™ game.
In the new gameplay video, Game Director Mathias Karlson breaks down one of Star Wars Outlaws’ expert quests. “One of your motivations for exploration is to find elusive experts scattered across the galaxy who will help Kay pick up new skills to survive in the underworld,” Karlson explains. In the video, Kay gathers intel about a gunslinger on Tatooine. As she travels through space from the asteroid field in Akiva’s orbit on her ship, the Trailblazer, we see her come to the aid of a Pyke Syndicate freighter under attack by pirate starfighters; the Pykes are grateful for her assistance, and Kay’s reputation with the syndicate grows and may open up further opportunities with them in the future.
Once on Tatooine, Kay enters a planet where most of the economy is under the control of a different syndicate: the Hutt Cartel. She explores Mos Eisley, the legendary hive of scum and villainy, in search of the gunslinger. Karlson says creating Mos Eisley was a highlight for the development team: “Recreating this iconic city is a dream come true for our team, allowing us to show parts of Mos Eisley you’ve never seen before.”
Kay’s intel leads to a Hutt Cartel storehouse located in the southern hills; unfortunately, she has a poor reputation with the Hutts. They won’t simply let her through the front door – she’ll need to infiltrate the area without triggering the alarm or risk getting into a confrontation. Kay succeeds and finds information on the location of the gunslinger, but now she needs to make her escape, leading her into a shootout before fleeing the scene. At the end of the video, Kay finally meets with the expert gunslinger, Sherriff Quint.
The latest trailer for Star Wars Outlaws details what makes Kay an original scoundrel, the underworld setting, and the galaxy of opportunity that awaits. Kay takes on high-risk, high-reward jobs to earn favour with the galaxy’s most notorious crime syndicates, including the cutthroat Pyke Syndicate, the crafty and cunning Crimson Dawn, amongst others. More of the locations Kay will explore are shown in detail, including the jungle world of Akiva, the ancient city of Kijimi, and the savannah moon of Toshara. There are flashbacks to Kay’s past growing up in Canto Bight, a memory of meeting Nix for the first time, and scenes of Kay hustling and thieving to survive.
Star Wars Outlaws launches on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC via Ubisoft Connect on August 30, and can be played up to three days early* starting August 27 with a Ubisoft+ Premium subscription or by preordering the Gold Edition or Ultimate Edition. For more information about Star Wars Outlaws, please visit: starwarsoutlaws.com.
*Play the game up to 3 days before the official launch date. Internet connection and Ubisoft account required to redeem the digital content. Please check system requirements and product details/restrictions before purchase and upon game release.
About Star Wars Outlaws
With development led by Massive Entertainment*, Star Wars Outlaws will invite players to experience the Star Wars galaxy like never before through an original story set between Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back™ and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi™. As the Galactic Empire relentlessly pursues the final defeat of the Rebel Alliance, the criminal underworld thrives. Fans will play as cunning scoundrel, Kay Vess and her loyal companion Nix, as they attempt one of the greatest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen. Seeking the means to start a new life, players will join Kay and Nix as they fight, steal, and outwit their way through the galaxy’s crime syndicates and join the galaxy’s most wanted.
Kay and Nix can turn any situation to their advantage: use stealth and gadgets to gain the upper hand, use Nix to distract and draw away enemies, or engage in blaster combat in tense situations throughout their journey. In order to pull off the ultimate heist, Kay and Nix will search for and join forces with a cast of outlaws, including battle-hardened droid ND-5. While stealing valuable goods, infiltrating secret locations, and outwitting enemies, they will need to carefully consider how their choices affect their status with each syndicate, as each move will influence Kay’s ever-changing reputation.
*Development partners include Ubisoft Annecy, Bucharest, Chengdu, Milan, Montpellier, Paris, Redlynx, Shanghai, Stockholm, Toronto.
