TOKYO — June 8th, 2024 — Witch of Oblivion, the sorcerous soulslike set in an ever-changing open world developed and self-published by Tasto Alpha, sparks into existence in a reveal trailer featured in today’s IGN Live showcase. Master the flames on PC via Steam Early Access next spring.

In an age forgotten, the godlike Ancients have wielded nature’s might to dominate the world for time immemorial. The awakening of Cinder Witch Lyva provides kindling for hope to blossom, but upon waking from her years-long slumber, she has no recollection of her life’s purpose. Search high and low across an ever-changing forest for memory fragments to unveil her reason for existence in a colorful, dreamlike RPG adventure.

Explore a vast, dangerous woodlands that magically alters the locations of its fantastical inhabitants, keeping Lyva on her toes for what’s behind each tree. Befriend docile critters in possession of magical secrets, and battle aggressive fauna like flying snakes, sprouting spiders, and ferocious fowl. Then, interact with sage-like animals and the human-esque Wildfolk, who offer sidequests in exchange for worship and gifts. 

Within Lyva lies the ancient Fire Magicks, versatile offensive and defensive magicks that can be used to destroy, create walls of flame, traverse the environment and even conjure a healing bonfire. Her magicks can even be used to improve her close quarters combat with her staves, or mix movement abilities with counterattacks for an advancing parry. Conjure up to four abilities at once, and equip additional passive skill gems and talismans for stat boosts.

Time is of the essence during Lyva’s excursions into the unknown: keep an eye on her energy levels during exploration and battle, lest she suffer a narcoleptic need for sleep that transports her back to the last visited Tree of Respite. DON’T NOD’s Upcoming Koira Takes Part in the Summer Game Fest Edition of Day of the Devs 2024

DON’T NOD unveils new trailer for this wholesome adventure game, with a demo coming this summer!

PARIS  June 7, 2024 – DON’T NOD and Studio Tolima are pleased to showcase Koira at this year’s Summer Game Fest edition of Day of the Devs 2024, an event highlighting the best upcoming indie titles. Due for release in 2025 (with a playable demo available this summer), Koira is a wholesome adventure game where players embody a forest spirit who saves a puppy. Together, they embark on a musical, hand-drawn adventure to the heart of an enchanted forest. 

The trailer highlights the main theme of Koira: friendship, with glimpses of possible interactions and adventures the two enjoy as they grow closer. Play fetch, feed the puppy, traverse the forest, and overcome challenges together as a pair. You’ll also see more of the game’s 2D hand-drawn art and animation as well as the musical aspects of the game: its emotive soundtrack and singing mechanic, which the spirit can use to wake the forest and interact with her new friend. Both are important parts of this dialogue-free game.

Koira is the second third-party game to be published by DON’T NOD and the first game coming out of Studio Tolima, a passionate team of developers in Belgium. Both publisher and developer are excited for the opportunity to showcase Koira at Day of the Devs.

In Koira, you’ll play as a forest spirit trying to get home when she hears a puppy in distress. After saving and befriending the helpless creature, the two embark on a transformative journey where they learn the true meaning of friendship with lots of adventures and puzzles along the way.
