Age of Empires Mobile Showcases Siege Multiplayer Gameplay in Final Trial Before Global Launch

Age of Empires Mobile is fast approaching its global launch on October 17 and wants to run one final test to assure everything is ready.

Registration for the Global Military Exercise is already underway and concludes on September 21. Interested players can fill out this survey here for a chance at a spot: https://forms.gle/S5Y5gn2APw5z3JZ39. Selected players will be informed via email on how to access the game on September 22.

Available for both iOS and Android players, the Global Military Exercise trial will run September 25 to October 2 and will include the following languages in-game: English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, Indonesian, and Thai.

The test will include the main features to be included in global launch, such as Siege warfare (alliance-versus-alliance combat), the massive global map featuring dynamic weather and six different civilizations to play.

Players can also participate in a massive Imperial City Clash, beginning on September 29, where alliances will battle to conquer a major royal city.

First Fatality Revealed for Upcoming Guest Fighter, Ghostface from Scream Franchise 

Warner Bros. Games have released the official launch trailer for Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns, an all-new expansion for Mortal Kombat 1 that will be available digitally on Sept. 25 at 1am AEST for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). 

The launch trailer provides a closer look at the new Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns storyline, which continues the cinematic narrative centred on a dangerous threat that has emerged from an alternate timeline, led by the ruthless Titan Havik. To defeat this menace, Fire God Liu Kang must rally his champions and put faith in his enemies before his New Era of peace is turned into khaos for the realms. 

The trailer also reveals the first Fatality for upcoming guest fighter Ghostface, the recurring identity donned by antagonists from the Scream horror movie franchise, who will be part of Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns alongside the T-1000 Terminator (Terminator 2: Judgment Day) and Conan the Barbarian.  

Additionally, the video highlights new gameplay moments for Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot, who will all join the roster on Sept. 25 when the expansion releases, as well as four new character skins available as a bonus for those who pre-order Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns, including Wedding Scorpion, Empress Mileena, and klassic Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 versions of Sub-Zero and Noob Saibot.  

Lastly, the trailer shows off a further glimpse at Animalities, the fan-favourite finishing moves thatallow all playable characters to morph into their spirit animal to annihilate defeated opponents, and Towers of Time, a returning mode with an on-going rotation of challenges and in-game events, both of which available as a free content update for all Mortal Kombat 1 owners in conjunction with the Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns launch. 

Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns is a new expansion for Mortal Kombat 1, the latest instalment in the acclaimed Mortal Kombat videogame franchise developed by award-winning NetherRealm Studios, which has sold more than 4 million units worldwide to date. 20 September, 2024 – Wizards of the Coast today launched prerelease events for Duskmourn: House of Horror, the latest set for the world-renowned trading card game, Magic: The Gathering (MTG). Introducing a retro horror-inspired plane where evil lurks behind every door, Duskmourn will test the nerve of any player who hopes to survive its haunting and ever-changing halls. Duskmourn: House of Horror will be released for MTG Arena on 24 September and tabletop on 27 September if you dare.

Don’t look behind you, don’t give in to fear, and whatever you do, don’t split up.

You’ve entered Duskmourn, and there’s no turning back. This plane-enveloping House harbours horrors beyond your worst nightmares and breathes life into your greatest fears. In fact, you’re filled with an unsettling awareness that the House itself is alive…and it’s out to get you.

When the son of Planeswalker Tamiyo, Nashi, mysteriously disappears, leaving nothing behind but a glitched recording of a terrifying world, a rescue squad is assembled to follow his last-known steps into Duskmourn. Niko, Tyvar, The Wanderer, Zimone, and Kaito must navigate the malevolent house and face the horrors that await them.

Duskmourn feeds on the fear of its inhabitants. If you hope to overcome it, you’ll need to master new and returning mechanics and use them to your advantage before we get you first:

  • Room cards: nothing is as it seems in Duskmourn, and its rooms are no exception. Rooms are enchantment cards that represent locations in the house you can explore. Once cast, players choose which door they want to unlock first, unleashing what awaits within. Brave enough to continue exploring? Simply pay the other door’s cost later to discover what it contains.
  • Manifest dread: a new keyword action that allows you to instil a fear of the unknown into your opponents. When a player manifests dread, they look at the two top cards of their library. They then select one to put face down as a colourless 2/2 creature while the other goes to the graveyard. If the card is a creature card, its controller can pay its cost to flip it up at any time for its mana cost.
  • Impending: look out ahead!! This new mechanic appears on the formidable mythic ‘Overlord’ cards. By playing these cards at a reduced cost, they enter the battlefield as non-creatures with a set number of time counters. These will gradually be removed on each turn, instilling a foreboding sense of danger as players wait for the creature to be unleashed.
  • Survival: creatures with survival trigger a unique ability when they live to the end of the combat phase tapped. If you can outplay your opponent, survival will be the reward.
  • Eerie: an ability that triggers whenever an enchantment enters the battlefield or when the second door of a room is unlocked.
  • Delirium: a returning keyword that grants an improved effect when its controller has four or more different card types in their graveyard.
  • Glimmer: there’s light in the dark. Glimmers are new enchantment creature types that are benevolent representations of a survivor’s hopes and dreams. When they die, these creatures return to the battlefield as enchantments but lose the creature type. This way, their effects live on, continuing to inspire hope.

See Duskmourn and its awe-inspiring horrors represented in unique and creepy treatments. You’ll see its ever-changing rooms showcased in Full Art Manor Lands, offering twisted vignettes from many unsettling—and impossible—landscapes. These include the eerie Mistmoors, frozen Floodpits, rotted Balemurks, sulphurous Boilerbilges, and voracious Hauntwoods.

But that’s not all that awaits. Duskmourn pays homage to iconic retro horror imagery with Paranormal Frame cards. These bring eye-popping imagery and frightful figures in static form, serving as a reminder that while you’ll come to depend on technology to survive, that same technology could be turned against you…

And the other survivors? You’ll see them represented in Double Exposure cards, a haunting art style reminiscent of classic horror photography. These can also be seen in textured foil versions, available exclusively in Collector Boosters.

Don’t look away, they’re coming for you! Brace yourself for a jumpscare with Mirror Monster cards, revealing a frightening visage of a monster’s reflection. To add to the creeping uncertainty, take care that your card isn’t a Lurking Evil variant. There might just be a creeping figure ready to strike when you least expect it…

Those eager to snatch up some Collector Boosters may also come across Japanese Showcase cards. These exceedingly rare treatments, and their even rarer Fracture Foil variants, will feature art styles from renowned Japanese illustrators and artists. These include Silent Hill creature designer Masahiro Ito’s terrifying “Damnation” Special Guest card featuring Duskmourn’s elder demon, Valgavoth our Devouring Father will protect us.

DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO’sroster is now complete! The game will feature 182 characters, the most there has ever been in a Budokai Tenkaichi game. In a new video, Jun Furutani, the game’s producer, also shares more about the Episode Battle and Custom Battle modes.

Along with the new characters, the video also delves into the Episode Battle and Custom Battle modes. In Episode Battle, players will be able to relieve some of the epic battles from the anime with 8 different characters available: Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Jiren, Future Trunks, Goku Black and Frieza. Goku’s will be the longest with events starting from the Saiyan invasion on Earth, up until the Tournament of Power in Dragon Ball Super.

Custom Battle will let players not only discover some of the original scenario created by the development team, but also create their own dream scenario with pre-battle and post-battle cutscenes or specific effects and the characters they want, before sharing it with the world!

DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO will launch on 11 October 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Pre-orders of the Digital and Ultimate Edition come with a three-day early access that will start on 8 October at 00:00 CEST. Pre-orders of the game will also receive a new playable character, Goku (Mini) from the upcoming DRAGON BALL DAIMA anime.

Arrive like Batman this Batman Day! Batmobile rides launch on Uber, giving fans free trips in the iconic vehicle to celebrate Batman Day!

  • To celebrate Batman Day and 85 years since Batman’s first appearance in comics, DC and Warner Bros. Discovery Australia are partnering with Uber to give Aussie fans free trips in Batman’s iconic Batmobile.
  • The trips are available on demand, on a first come first served basis via the Uber app in Sydney and Adelaide for two days only in each city (Friday 20 to Saturday 21 September in Sydney, and Friday 27 to Saturday 28 September in Adelaide)

Wednesday 18 September 2024 – Sydney and Adelaide, Australia: Batman Day (21 September) is arriving in Australia in style, with Warner Bros. Discovery Australia and Uber inviting fans in Sydney and Adelaide to enjoy free rides in Batman’s iconic Batmobile.  

Celebrated around the world on the third Saturday of September, Batman Day is a day where fans of all ages and backgrounds can commemorate Gotham City’s iconic DC Super Hero, the world of Batman and all that comes with it. 2024 marks 85 years of The Caped Crusader, so it is also a particularly special day for fans to celebrate how Batman is recognised across the globe thanks to his portrayal in universally beloved comic books, TV shows, cartoons and movies.  

To mark the 85th anniversary, Batman’s loyal aide, Alfred Pennyworth has snuck the Batmobile out of the Batcave, giving fans of the masked vigilante the chance to take a trip through the city in the passenger seat of Batman’s crimefighting vehicle, courtesy of Uber. From the streets of Gotham City to the picturesque cities of Sydney and Adelaide, fans can experience the thrill of hitching a ride with one of the world’s most iconic vehicles while cruising past some of Australia’s most famous landmarks. Whether it’s a trip along Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach or a scenic ride down the Adelaide Riverbank, the Batmobile will be free for fans to enjoy for two days only, so they can celebrate Batman Day in style. 

On Friday 20 and Saturday 21 September in Sydney, and Friday 27 and Saturday 28 in Adelaide, fans will be able to order a trip in the fan-built Batmobile for free  on demand in the Uber app. Trips will be available on a first come, first served basis, and riders must be near the Batmobile at the time of booking, within a 5km radius around Sydney and Adelaide CBD. Batman fans must leave their Robin at home though, with only one passenger seat available per trip. If users don’t see the Batmobile as an option in the app, it means that Batman is busy, so make sure you get in quick to avoid missing out on this truly unique experience! To further celebrate Batman’s legacy, some lucky fans may be gifted Batman merch from Gotham Collectables to help mark the special occasion.

New Trailer Showcases the Seven Heroes’ Past and Two New Classes

SYDNEY (Sept. 20, 2024) – SQUARE ENIX® has released a thrilling demo for Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, a full HD remake of the hit RPG that sold more than 1 million copies upon its 1993 release in Japan. Ahead of the game’s Oct. 25 launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation®5 (PS5®), PlayStation®4 (PS4®) and PC via Steam®, players can pre-order the game across all platforms to receive two useful items, Shiyuan’s Tactical Primer and Cat’s Amulet, to assist with their adventure.
