Jump into All-Out Mech vs. Mech Warfare with SAND’s Steam Next Fest Demo

Experience diesel-punk action with your friends in the first public demo for the upcoming open-world FPS, kicking off October 11!

SEATTLEOct. 10, 2024 – Publisher tinyBuild and indie developers Hologryph and TowerHaus are excited to share that the first demo for the open-world extraction shooter SAND will be released on Friday, October 11, ahead of Steam Next Fest! Teams of up to six players can customize their moving fortresses and go head to head against each other in the demo. Check out today’s new gameplay video highlighting the Tramplers, giant warring mechs you can build, customize and ride into battle!

SAND is set in an alternate-history, diesel-punk universe where the Austro-Hungarian Empire leads space colonization, humanity travels the stars, and the fallen planet of Sophie lays in ruins after an ecological disaster evaporated the world’s oceans. Now only the bravest and most reckless treasure hunters, working alone or in teams, scavenge and battle across Sophie’s deadly deserts for their fortune.

In SAND’s new demo, you’ll operate your own massive walking Trampler mech to explore the open world and take down hostile enemies on your own or with friends. SAND’s emergent combat and gameplay will keep you on your toes, delivering a thrilling experience that’s accessible but challenging and rewarding as you play.

Demo Features:

  • Master the Tramplers: Traverse and fight across a hostile world with Tramplers, gigantic walking mechs that act as your main base for exploration, assaulting enemies and guarding loot.
  • Customize Your Mech: Upgrade the Trampler’s power, armor, weapons and more. Team up with other players to create and command the ultimate moving fortress!
  • Hit the Dunes On Foot: Disembark from your mobile base for close-quarters battles during city raids, resource fights, or just to steal another team’s Trampler.
  • Battle for Glory: Engage in action-packed firefights with a range of powerful weaponry. SAND’s thrilling gunplay and combat mechanics are easy to pick up but challenging and rewarding to master.

Proudly made by a team of Ukrainian developers as a celebration of Ukraine’s rich cultural heritage and people, SAND will ultimately feature an intense combination of open-world exploration, explosive PvPvE combat, emergent extraction gameplay, and plenty of loot with which to make your fortune – if you can get offworld with it in one piece.

Players can wishlist SAND now on Steam with a free demo beginning tomorrow, October 11. For more information, visit the game’s website, and follow along with the latest updates on Twitter and Discord.

Guerrilla warriors join the fight in Enlisted

Major update brings a new soldier class, new squads, weapons and gear

Darkflow Software and Gaijin Entertainment announce the release of the “Guerrilla Warfare” major content update for the military online shooter Enlisted. It brings the new Guerrilla soldier class, the new “Mountain Pass” map, as well as new weapons and vehicles such as sawed-off PPSh and self-propelled gun Marder III. In addition, tanks and other armored vehicles now look better in motion thanks to the new physical model of tracks.

Soviet partisans, German militias and irregular fighters from other nations can move around the enemy combat zone, that is usually closed to soldiers of other classes, and arrange treacherous ambushes. Only the respawn zones are off-limits to them. The guerrilla fighters have spare ammo for any weapon they might capture and carry extra charges of TNT for sabotage

The new Mountain pass map in Ardennes is inspired by the bloody battles between the US and Germany in the winter of 1944. Here players fight for control of a small town with an important transport junction in the middle, maneuvering through snowy mountain forests, deserted streets and hastily constructed Allied fortified areas. The complex terrain provides many reliable shelters and no less ways to bypass them.

Finally, many wheeled and tracked vehicles in Enlisted have been visually updated. The suspension physics have become even more detailed, so tracks realistically stretch when driving over various obstacles, and the antennas sway when moving.

You can learn more about the changes in the Guerrilla Warfare update on the official website of the game.

New MechWarrior 5: Clans Mech-Thrashing Gameplay Deploys as Day 1 Game Pass Availability is Confirmed for Oct. 16 Launch Date

Digital Collectors Edition Details are Revealed as Gaming’s Most Iconic Mechs March Toward the Long-awaited Return of a Story-based MechWarrior Game Next Week

THE INNER SPHERE (Oct. 10, 3049) – MechWarrior 5: Clans (https://store.steampowered.com/app/2000890/MechWarrior_5_Clans/), a new, narrative-driven entry into the MechWarrior franchise, arrives on Xbox Game Pass & PC Game Pass while simultaneously launching Oct. 16 at 5:00p.m. Pacific Daylight Time (Oct. 17 at 00:00 UTC) on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for $49.99. Developer Piranha Games also dropped nearly three minutes of all-new gameplay video today featuring tense moments from Smuggler’s Den, a mission within MechWarrior 5: Clans’ cinematic-driven story.

Today’s video looks at Smuggler’s Den and spotlights the hard-hitting action the MechWarrior series is known for as missiles, lasers and particle projector cannon blasts fly. In MechWarrior 5: Clans, combat advances a rich, overarching narrative throughout a campaign that’s playable entirely solo or in five-player co-op.

MechWarrior 5: Clans is Piranha Games’ third game in the MechWarrior franchise, following the wildly successful 2013 MMO MechWarrior Online and 2019 single player/co-op sandbox game MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries. In contrast, MechWarrior 5: Clans brings a story rich, linear-based single player/co-op narrative-driven action game to fans for the first time in decades – a complete departure from previous MechWarrior entries, solidifying Piranha Games as one of the industry’s most dynamic studios as it continues to forge entirely new gameplay genres and game design with each new MechWarrior release.

Piranha Games also announced MechWarrior 5: Clans’ Digital Collectors Edition details today, which bundles the below for $79.99:

  • A copy of MechWarrior 5: Clans
  • Exclusive in-game content:
  • Platinum Mech Patterns
  • A Timber Wolf WAR Omnimech with Unique Weapon Loadout and Skin
  • A Bonus 36-Song Digital Soundtrack
  • A Bonus 70-Page Digital Artbook (to be further expanded post launch)
  • An Omnimech Technical Readout (a reference specific to this Mech, its design and capabilities, to be further expanded post launch)

Hailed as All Quiet on the Western Front with Mechs from the most recent media preview in Digital Trends, MechWarrior 5: Clans follows Piranha’s 2019 hit, MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, an open-ended, procedural experience that sold more than 2 million units while securing its current 84% Very Positive ranking on Steam from more than 7,500 user reviews. MechWarrior 5: Clans is enjoyable as a self-contained campaign with a gripping narrative and tense, thrilling combat without any prior knowledge of the MechWarrior universe.

MechWarrior 5: Clans sports an exciting set of gameplay features for new and veteran pilots:

  • The Clan Invasion is Here: For the first time since MechWarrior 2 (released in 1995), pilots can immerse themselves in an action-packed Clan Invasion story – one of the most epic time periods in the franchise that changed the course of the Inner Sphere’s factions and politics forever. MechWarrior 5: Clans is the absolute perfect entry point into the MechWarrior universe for newcomers, and the game that veteran pilots have been waiting more than 30 years to play.
  • This Isn’t Run-and-Gun, This is MechWarrior: Celebrated core MechWarrior combat returns in MechWarrior 5: Clans. Pilots must strategically plan and execute Star-based team assaults if they are going to bring honor to Clan Smoke Jaguar while advancing their position within the Inner Sphere.
  • Customizable Mechs: Victory starts in your Mech Lab with an expanded collection of technologically advanced Clan weapon systems, equipment and Upgrades. Clan Mech’s superior technology grants you the ability to swap out larger parts for greater customization and functionality ahead of assaults. Plan accordingly based on terrain, structure and biome specificity for the best chance at victory.
  • All-Star Strategy: Your squadron (aka your Star) is depending on you. Protect the members of your Star in battle, deepening your bond as you engage the Inner Sphere’s determined defenders. Immerse yourself in the story as you lead your Star through narratively driven missions and thrilling combat.
  • Stunning Visual Design: Harnessing the power of Unreal Engine 5, MechWarrior 5: Clans abounds in environmental detail and destruction – from precisely designed confined cityscapes to bogs spanning incredible distances, battles will take shape on breathtaking landscapes and the complex infrastructure of the Inner Sphere.
