HYPER REAL to Publish Horror Cult Mystery NAME OF THE WILL, Launching Early 2027, Exhibiting New Demo at gamescom

TOKYO — Aug 5, 2026 — NAME OF THE WILL, the award-winning daylight horror cult mystery developed by Zeitgeist Studio, will invite new Neighbors when it launches in early 2027 on PC via Steam through a collaboration with Japanese publisher HYPER REAL. Go hands-on with NAME OF THE WILL’s new demo at the Indie Arena Booth during gamescom 2026, alongside a surprise title that will also be available for hands-on gameplay.

Welcome to HOPE, Neighbor 3279.

Here, the downtrodden can find enlightenment away from life’s inherent trauma and devastation. Our harmonious community resides in a 34-story compound filled with individuals just like you, who seek relief from mental anguish, grief and life’s regrets. Seek new perspectives and find the good in everything through HOPE’s education courses. Here, pain is freedom, death is not to be feared, and mourning is misguided. Our friendly Neighbors will always watch your back from behind their smiling masks to ensure we all stay on the path without fear of regressing to our baser instincts. Follow HOPE’s helpfully thorough conduct system, do your part to foster harmony, heed our Benevolent Father’s every word, and you’ll fit right in.

Smile through seven days embedded in HOPE as 3279, a new Neighbor asking a few too many questions. Mind every word and action as HOPE’s seven-strike Conduct System tallies every “disruption of harmony”, where different scores alter their path and how it will all end.

By daybreak, explore the halls of HOPE’s indoctrination facility. Interact with uncanny Neighbors, attend re-education classes, and sit through tense interrogations where 3279’s answers could cost a member’s life. Vote to select the day’s victim, and inflict anguish on them during disturbing Reformation rituals. When night falls, evade the Benevolent Father as he prowls the halls, and sneak into forbidden Backstage areas to uncover HOPE’s harrowing origins.

Investigate both reality and the ethereal as 3279’s past traumas bleed into the present. Collaborate with other skeptics in search of answers, and piece together clues, memory fragments, and diary entries that shed light on 3279’s mysterious circumstances.

Question free will itself while delving into a fully hand-drawn, morally ambiguous tale inspired by the Buddhist philosophy of shared karma. NAME OF THE WILL’s award-winning horrors (A MAZE. WINGS Award 2026, Third Place of NEOWIZ Indie Quest) are complemented by an abstract amalgamation of Hong Kong’s soundscape by renowned composer hirsk (Golden Melody Awards – Best Instrumental Album Producer).

NAME OF THE WILL’s horror does not come from jumpscares or monsters; it comes from the pressure to conform, even when everything in you resists,” said Mandy Wong, Co-Founder and Creative Director at Zeitgeist Studio. “Thanks to the support of HYPER REAL, what started as a passion project has grown to become something much bigger than we could ever imagine, and we look forward to sharing our creation with worldwide horror fans at gamescom this month.”

NAME OF THE WILL arrives on PC via Steam in early 2027 with language support in English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, French, Russian, Ukrainian, and Spanish (Latin America). Wartales Expands with Massive Free Community Update Arriving September 7

Improvements to criminal activities, snappier combat, new locations, and more

BORDEAUX, France – Aug. 6, 2026 – Wartales, the medieval open-world tactical RPG with more than one million units sold from developer Shiro Games, receives a massive free update on Monday, Sept. 7, 2026. Community Update 7 features overhauls to criminal activities and the Prisoner system, a nefarious new hub, additional armor sets and battle maps, and much more driven by community feedback.

Live a life on the wrong side of the law and settle in at “The Lair,” a new hub location dedicated to underworld activities. As part of Community Update 7’s expanded focus on Crime and Chaos playstyles, troops that garner enough suspicion can learn of The Lair by visiting various informants. In The Lair, enterprising miscreants can sell stolen goods, accept criminal bounties, purchase exclusive new weapons, and lower suspicion levels as needed. Community Update 7 also includes a rework to Wartales’ Prisoner system, allowing for greater control over captives at camp and in combat. New features include a dedicated Prisoner skill tree, desires based on each prisoner’s personalized traits, an overhaul to prisoner needs and trust systems, as well as hidden objectives that can be uncovered to affect a given prisoner’s trust level.

Additional improvements to combat and character management allow for a more streamlined experience both in and out of battle. Community Update 7 introduces a new “End Round” button that automatically skips the turn of mercenaries who have not yet acted and can be canceled at any time. A character sheet redesign improves readability by dividing information across three tabs containing details about core stats and other character information, relationships, and special secondary classes.

Additional tweaks and improvements featured in Community Update 7 include:

  • Three new armor sets to buy – or steal – from wandering merchants
  • Six new battle maps across Alazar, Harag, Gosenberg and Edoran
  • Personal mercenary quests for individual characters
  • Numerous QoL improvements and bug fixes

“The new features and improvements included in Community Update 7 represent not only a substantial update to Wartales, but a reflection of our ongoing commitment to listening and engaging with player feedback,” said Quentin Lapeyre, Game Director at Shiro Games. “New additions like The Lair and overhauled Prisoner System allow both new and returning players to sink their teeth into a wealth of new content.”

Wartales’ Community Update 7 will launch on Monday, September 7 as a free download to all players. An open beta begins today, allowing eager adventurers an opportunity to go hands-on with the update and provide feedback.

Cargo, Please! Turns Deliveries Into High-Speed, Cop-Dodging Chaos This August 5

Dodge police fines and manage fragile cargo while building a delivery empire across three cities.

CAIRO, EGYPT — FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — [August 5th, 2026]

Outrun the cops while your cargo rattles in the back. That is the high-stakes fantasy at the core of Cargo, Please!, an isometric delivery game launching August 5, 2026. Developed by solo indie dev Cyber752 Games, the title challenges players to move fast without losing their cargo, or their nerve, across three open cities.

Every job begins by accepting a shipment, but not every delivery is safe, simple, or legal. Get caught breaking traffic laws and the police will fine you; damage your cargo along the way and you’ll lose money on the delivery itself. Shipments are auto-generated, so no two runs feel the same, and most jobs reward the driver who can find the balance between speed and control, rather than the one who simply floors it.

Players start out on a humble scooter and work their way up through bikes, delivery trucks with open cargo beds, and finally heavy trucks hauling full trailers behind them. Each tier opens up unique deliveries and more profitable jobs, and every vehicle can be customized with new paint and wheels. The tone balances cozy exploration with arcade-style tension. A full day and night cycle paired with dynamic weather adds atmosphere to every drive, changing how each route feels. Between deliveries, Taxi Driver Mode switches things up by angry passengers instead of cargo, with the same risk of fines and damage, but without the narrative and dialogue of a standard delivery run.

Key features include:

  • Auto-Generated Shipments: Every job is procedurally created, with its own cargo type, fragility, and delivery window, so no two runs ever play the same.
  • Risk vs Reward: Reckless driving risks fines and broken cargo, while cautious driving costs you time. Every delivery is a judgment call.
  • Vehicle Progression: Work your way up from scooters to bikes, delivery trucks, and heavy trucks with trailers, each tier unlocking unique deliveries, better pay, and full customization with paint and wheels.
  • Taxi Driver Mode: Angry passengers instead of cargo, with the same risk of fines and damage, but without the narrative and dialogue of a standard delivery run.

Cargo, Please! is available on Steam starting August 5, 2026. The game is $8.99 USD and will have a launch discount of 20% for 14 days. The game is the work of a solo Cairo-based developer handling every part of production: design, code, and audio, start to finish.

DreadXP Unveils VILE: Exhumed Physical Edition in Celebration of Gripping, Story-driven and Banned Horror Game’s First Anniversary, Opens Sign-ups for Limited Edition Sale

Find the secrets and answers behind a mysterious disappearance in this bold, thought-provoking examination of obsession, entitlement and humanity’s darkest capacities

LOS ANGELES (Aug. 5, 2026) – Solo developer Cara Cadaver (Final Girl Games) and publisher DreadXP today proudly reveal a new, limited edition physical release of VILE: Exhumed, the gruesome narrative horror game where you investigate a missing person’s fate by delving into the archives and technological relics of an ancient, ‘90s era desktop computer. Sign up to be notified when VILE: Exhumed’s physical edition is available for order, and file it into your collection for $9.99 USD (plus tax and shipping) before it’s gone forever: https://www.vileisbanned.com

VILE: Exhumed’s physical edition embodies the essence of old school PC technology and retro, early gaming-era underground media, arriving in a classic jewel case complete with visually distressed paper inserts – and of course, a fully-playable copy of VILE: Exhumed on a pristine, physical CD. And that black plastic bag and duct tape wrapping? Exquisite. The whole kit would look right at home next to the beige-white, dial-up powered PCs we used to leave on for days while downloading 5 megabytes of music at a time (legally, of course).

“When VILE: Exhumed was able to finally come out, the support was wonderful,” said Cara Cadaver, founder and solo developer at Final Girl Games. “Seeing the horror community create a home for my work was incredibly special, but it was hard seeing my creative vision, and such a personal story, just become a headline about censorship. Working on the physical edition of VILE: Exhumed allowed me not only to revisit the feelings I had around the wrongful ban of the game last year, but also step back into Candy and Molly’s world, and give them one more moment.”

VILE: Exhumed’s mystery centers on the retirement of adult film actress Candy Corpse, and Candy’s reasoning for leaving the scene is unknown to many – but not to all. Piece together a story of parasociality, entitlement and consequences set within the fledgling stage of digital connectivity, pouring over decades-old digital residue sprawled across notes, photos, videos, emails and dated internet forums. Discover the truth behind Candy’s decision and the repercussions inherent of the digital revolution.

Final Girl Games and DreadXP’s devotion to immortalizing VILE: Exhumed as physical media follows the game’s initial banning from Steam just ahead of its debut last year.

But important art can’t be banned forever: Final Girl Games and DreadXP ultimately released VILE: Exhumed for free, as a donation-optional download in 2025. For fans who choose to donate, 50% of the profits are donated to the Red Door Family Shelter, a charity assisting families, refugees and women escaping violence; 50% of the physical release’s profits will also benefit Red Door Family Shelter. While VILE: Exhumed remains free to download, the new physical edition stands as a defiance of censorship and a vital step in ensuring the game is accessible to horror fans for decades to come. Humanity Created Angels. Now They Return With Something Ominous in Their Wake

Angelic: Dark Symphony Makes Its Debut in a Haunting New Teaser

Led by former Bungie and Crytek developers, Angelicore unveils a cinematic dark science-fiction RPG combining shifting character perspectives, hero-driven turn-based combat, and cosmic tragedy.

FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, August 5, 2026: Independent developer Angelicore Game Studios has unveiled Angelic: Dark Symphony, narrative RPG at the heart of the Angelic universe.

The announcement arrives with a new in-engine teaser introducing the game’s neo-human heroes, cinematic storytelling, tactical combat, and the dark force spreading through humanity’s fractured future.

Humanity created neo-humans. They called them angels. After rebelling against the corporations that controlled them, the angels decisively won the devastating Interhuman Wars and vanished into deep space.

Two centuries later, the angels are returning.

In Angelic: Dark Symphony, players experience a cinematic science-fiction narrative through the shifting perspectives of a diverse ensemble cast. Every hero carries their own motivations, relationships, conflicts, and place within the wider story, while their distinctive powers reshape the game’s turn-based battles.

“Angelic began with a question: what happens if humanity is forced to adapt to space faster than evolution allows?” said Erkan Bayol, Founder and Game Director at Angelicore Game Studios. “Humanity’s answer was to create neo-humans, beings they would eventually call angels. But when the corporations in power recognized that neo-humans were superior to ordinary humans in almost every way, they sought to suppress and exploit them. From that moment, conflict became inevitable.”

“That philosophy also shaped the game itself. Dark Symphony has no single protagonist surrounded by supporting characters. Players experience the story through different heroes as their journeys unfold in parallel, while taking full control of them in turn-based combat. You do not choose a single angel to carry the story. You experience it through all of them.”

The first campaign takes players to Dreadheaven, a deep-space neo-human colony once known as The Heaven. Sent to investigate why the colony suddenly fell silent, the heroes confront catastrophic events that force them to question everything: their own existence, faith, evolution, morality, and reality itself.

Angelic: Dark Symphony is currently in development for PC. Additional platforms are under consideration.
