Gravity Rush officially confirmed for PlayStation Vita launch release

While we’ve seen Gravity Rush listed on various launch line-ups from retailers, there has never actually been an official confirmation from Sony about the titles release date until now. Sony Computer Entertainment America has released a fact sheet for the title which confirms it will be available on February 22nd.

Also the fact sheet details the story which has yet to be talked about much by the information we’ve received so far. Check out the story summary below and the game itself when it releases alongside the PlayStation Vita on February 22nd.

Told in a stunning graphic art style, Gravity Rush follows Kat, young girl struggling to regain her lost memories in a world unraveling before her eyes. A chance encounter with a mysterious black cat gives her the power to control gravity. She must use this new found power to save herself and Hekseville, a futuristic metropolis, from the Gravity Storms ravaging the environment. Kat matches wits with an unknown evil only known as “Nevi,” who conspires with the government and thwarts Kat at every turn. Throughout her journey, Kat travels through vibrant environments and discovers just how powerful she can be.

Those eager to learn more about Ninja Gaiden 3 will be happy to hear that Tecmo Koei has begun a series of developer diaries for the title. Now this video is mostly in Japanese with English subtitles but is certainly worth a watch as the developing team and overseas producer talk about the action in Ninja Gaiden 3.

Also shown in this developer diary is the fact that Ryu Hayabusa seems to have turned into a quite the cold blooded killer, even slicing through a man begging and apologizing for his actions. As such the developers also state how they have implemented more emotional elements as well as story than in any past Ninja Gaiden title. Check out the video below and Ninja Gaiden 3 when it is released on March 20th in North America and March 23rd in Europe.

Inversion drifts to March release

You know… its never a very good thing when a company goes dark about a game for quite a long time and it is even worse when it is a new IP from Namco Bandai. Ever since it was announced back in 2009, Inversion has seen a bumpy road as it was supposed to originally been released in 2010 and now has been delayed once again to March of 2012 according to online retailers.

The release date was supposed to be February 7 of this year but now GameFly and GameStop both list the title being released on March 27. Now this isn’t official yet but considering the lack of any announcements about the game for the past few months it may as well be.

Twisted Metal to receive PSN Pass despite David Jaffe’s complaints

It seems that despite having a big part in developing the game, David Jaffe more or less has absolutely no say when it comes to the policies implemented by Sony as David has created a rather long (nearly half hour) YouTube video where he goes on to talk about plenty of things.

In this video he states that Twisted Metal will be using the Sony version of the online pass, the pretty little PSN Pass which means that if you don’t buy the game new, good luck playing online without dropping an extra $10. Also explained in the video is that the game will be receiving a day one patch (wonder if you will be able to patch without the PSN Pass) and a demo (maybe only avaible to those who pre-order the PSN Pass) that will be released before the game comes out.

Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City rated by ESRB for PlayStation 3

Seems like you just can’t keep a good game down, even if it is very old by today’s standards. The ESRB has recently rated both Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City for the PlayStation 3, though no announcement has officially been made by Sony or Rockstar Games at this time.

It shouldn’t be too much of a surprise to be honest, given that GTA3 is already being released on smart phones so a collection of past GTA titles would only help sweeten the deal for fans. Also it would be a great way to help promote Grand Theft Auto V if they can get people talking about the GTA series once again.

Brand New Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock Trailer

A new trailer for BBC Worldwide Digital Entertainment and Supermassive Game’ upcoming Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock has just been released. The brand new trailer reveals that the game will in fact be a 2D platformer and players will be able to play as The Doctor and River Song.

Several of The Doctor’s greatest villains: Daleks, the Silence, Cybermen and Silurians have been confirmed to make an appearance in the game. Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock is looking to be one very decent game and the first video game (in a long time) to properly serve the phenomenal long running television series justice.

Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock is set to launch digitally through the Playstation Network for Playstation 3 and PS Vita in March 2012, with a PC release due shortly after.

A new DoDonPachi title in the works

Cave is a company well respected among import gamers as the masters of the shoot’em’up (Shmup) genre.  Their releases have primarily stayed in Japan but they’re slowly making their way to Western territories, some in the form of Xbox Live Arcade releases but more recently in disc form thanks to the efforts of Rising Star Games as DoDonPachi Resurrection recently arrived in PAL territories back in November 2011. This year Cave has the sequel in works, DoDonPachi Saidaioujou.

At this stage they have only released a teaser site, which at the moment only has the logo pictured here. DoDonPachi Saidaioujou is actually one of two new releases that Cave is working on for 2012, and both titles are expected to get an official unveiling by the end of January.
