Nexon Europe Revealing 2 New Games at Gamescom

Yep, this Gamescom news is still churning out as publishers everywhere set their sights on Germany. Nexon Europe are the latest to reveal details about their showing, which will take place August 15th-19th. Nexon will be located inside the business centre, hall 4.1, as well as inside the consumer centre, hall 8, and will be bringing their free to play RTS Shadow Company as well as a currently unannounced offering.

Here are the details you should know about both:

Shadow Company

An exciting new online free-to-play FPS by the creators of Combat Arms – one of the most successful Free-to-Play FPS games ever. Shadow Company will be published in North America by Nexon America and in Europe by Nexon Europe in early 2013.

Shadow Company utilizes the impressive Unreal Engine 3 to produce cutting edge graphics and fast, fluid gameplay, making it stand out from all other Free-to-Play FPS titles. It contains highly intense multiplayer gameplay and Nexon Europe will be demonstrating this with various 16-player competitions on their main stage in the consumer hall, including the unique Blackmoney  multiplayer mode (4 vs 4 vs 4 vs 4).

 The Un-announced Title

The latest title from Nexon Europe will be revealed first at Gamescom this year. It will be a Naval RTS, produced by highly experienced and skilled developers. Keep watching Nexon’s announcements for more information.

“Gamescom provides us with a great opportunity to reach out to both European press and community,” said Sungjin Kim, Nexon’s CEO. “With Free-to-Play gaming becoming more and more popular all over Europe, we appreciate this great opportunity to let Gamescom visitors play our newest games for the first time. The two new titles that we are bringing to Nexon Europe’s extensive portfolio of games really show the direction we are heading – taking Free-to-Play gaming to the next level.”

A Naval RTS sounds rather interesting at the moment, and it will be nice to hear more information on Shadow Company, so fans of the famed FTP pioneer will be wanting to visit Nexon’s booth next month.

Razer Announce Two New Additions To The BlackWidow Range

Coming soon from Razer are two new keyboards in the mechanical Blackwidow range. The Razer Blackwidow 2013 and the Blackwidow tournament edition keyboards are new designs that are sure to enhance the gaming experience for those using them.

Firstly the Blackwidow 2013 is the latest in the primary Blackwidow line and features a number of improvements to its design. Most importantly of all of its enhancements is the anti-ghosting element which allows for up to 10 simultaneous key strokes, thus ensuring that players can utilise every key that they need. The keyboard also features a nice green backlight and and a matte finish that prevents smudging from fingers from damaging the aesthetic of the keyboard.

The second addition to the Blackwidow line is the new Blackwidow Tournament Edition keyboard. Considering that it was designed with LAN arenas and small desk spaces in mind, the keyboard is perfect for competitive play. This was achieved by Razer removing the numpad from the side of the keyboard in this design. The tournament edition will also come in two designs, standard and stealth, with the stealth version offering a faster key response time.

The keyboards will range in price between $79.99 and $139.99 USD. Be sure to check out the Blackwidow website for more details.

Katy Perry and EA Mobile have teamed up together to release a line of Katy Perry inspired fashions. Three brand new house templates have been also added to the game, Pro Skater’s Dream Pad, Designer Home, and a Japanese Retreat. The Sims Freeplay is available for iOS here and for Android here.

Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time trailer demonstrates some classic RPG gameplay

With most RPGs moving into the action RPG format, there are only a few companies still out there that believe in old-school combat mechanics and tactical fighting. One such company happens to be Atlus USA and their upcoming game Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time which will be released next week on the PlayStation Portable.

The gameplay trailer can be seen below and in this we are treated to some classic TRPG action. It is worth noting that Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time will not be compatible with the PlayStation Vita upon release, though if Gungnir is anything to go by, it may be compatible around a month after release.

Sleep well with these Dead Space 3 Feeder screenshots

Dead Space 3’s drop-in and drop-out co-op may or may not be a fear killer when Dead Space 3 is released, but it certainly looks like the new Feeder enemy is going to do its best to scare you then probably try to kill you and maybe even eat you afterwards.

Today EA released a slew of new images of the Feeder necromorphs which can be seen below. It is said that these feeder enemies are formed when a human eats corrupted necromorph meat. Well… I suppose when you are stranded on a frozen planet with no food around, dead mutated flesh may start to look appetizing after awhile.

Just Cause 2 bonus outfit revealed for Sleeping Dogs

Square Enix London Studios revealed a nice little treat today for those who happen to have a save file for Just Cause 2. You see, when the player starts up Sleeping Dogs for the first time the game will search for a Just Cause 2 save file and if one is found then the Rico Rodriguez outfit will be unlocked for use in the main game.

This outfit will be available on all launch platforms and will provide an extra boost to your hijacking ability, allowing you to perform stunt-like takeovers from a further distance. Three images were released to show off the costume as well as demonstrate the fancy hijacking players can pull off if they happen to wear the outfit. Neat little bonus ain’t it?

Gungnir now playable on the PlayStation Vita

There are a number of ways that Sony has mishandled the PlayStation Vita since the handheld launched a few months ago but one of the most insulting is the fact that newly released PSP games aren’t even compatible with the PlayStation Vita when they are released.

One such game which experienced this issue was Atlus’ Gungnir which was released roughly a month ago on the PSP, both digitally and physically, but at the time was not playable on the Vita. This turned out to be quite a shame considering the title turned out to be an interesting SRPG and those interested in seeing our review of the game can find it here, but it seems that shame has ended.

Atlus announced over Twitter that Sony got off their lazy butts and Gungnir is now playable on the PlayStation Vita. They did warn however that it may not appear in the Vita Store until August 7th so the use of the PS3’s transferring system may be needed to place the title on the Vita.
