Dark vehicle combat shooter Mad Metal is out now on Steam

0

Mad Metal, the vehicle combat shooter where you slow time and take enemy cars apart one component at a time, is out now on Steam.

TORONTO, ON – September 21, 2026. What happens if you take the worlds of Mad Max, Twisted Metal and Interstate ’76, drop a player into them and ask who they become out there? Indie developer Hakim Elayday started there and kept going. Two and a half years later, Mad Metal is out now on Steam, a vehicle combat shooter that gives players one hell of an explosive joyride.

While most auto-combat shooter games ask how hard you can hit, Mad Metal asks what you want gone. Dead Aim slows time mid-chase, and a fight becomes a choice rather than a contest. Take the fuel tank, and the explosion finishes the job for you. Take a wheel, and the car that was hunting you a second ago slides into whatever is closest. The enemy is built the same way you are, so the thing bearing down on you has a tank and a wheel and a driver too, and it is closing while you decide which one you want gone.

You don’t have to do it alone, and there are multiple game modes to experience.  Extraction drops two players into escalating waves that end in a boss fight and an airlift that only arrives if they reach the zone; open-world invasion puts you in a stranger’s game where the only real decision is the one you make on arrival, and deathmatch strips it back to a 1v1 with nothing to work out at all. Ranked and unranked MMR matches players of similar skill, so the fight is as casual or as serious as you want it.

Driving all of it is the campaign: eight voiced and narrated missions that follow Jack through an America where the machines no longer kill people, converting them instead into something built to inherit what is left. His wife is already gone, his daughter is still out there, and the further he goes looking, the harder the story gets on him about what he is turning into.

The soundtrack is paying attention the whole way, shifting as the car takes damage. It was produced with Scarlet Moon’s Jayson Napolitano and features singer/songwriter Stefani Keogh alongside musicians Frank van ‘t Ende and Idem Grey.

KEY FEATURES

  • DISMANTLE ENEMY VEHICLES WITH DEAD AIM by slowing time and targeting individual components, taking off a fuel tank, a wheel or a door rather than wearing down the whole car.
  • DRIVE THROUGH A NARRATED CAMPAIGN Take the wheel and fight your way through an America where the machines abduct rather than kill, in search of a daughter they have already taken.
  • SURVIVE EXTRACTION IN CO-OP against escalating waves that end in a boss fight and an airlift that only arrives if you reach the zone.
  • INVADE ANOTHER PLAYER’S OPEN WORLD and decide on arrival whether to turn up as friend or foe.
  • FIGHT 1V1 DEATHMATCHES with ranked and unranked MMR matching players of similar skill for casual or competitive play.
  • BUILD THE CAR YOU WANT from nine base vehicles and more than eighty attachments, each altering how the vehicle sounds and handles, with a full Create Your Own Car builder and mid-run augments that push a build somewhere unplanned.
  • PLAY ON STEAM DECK with full gamepad support.

Mad Metal is for anyone who grew up on car chases and demolition derbies, anyone who likes a shooter that rewards a good decision over a fast trigger, and anyone who just wants a genuinely good time behind the wheel. It is available now on Steam for $14.99, with a 20% launch discount. Players can find all the ways to play on the indie.io store.

Fight Viruses as a Human Firewall in Xploit Tower Defense on Meta Quest 3 November 10, New Demo Available Today

0

MADRID — Sept. 21, 2026 — Xploit Tower Defense, the mixed-reality firewall vs. viruses tower defender from developer Lenya Digital and publisher AAA Game Studios, brings the battle home Meta Quest 3 on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2026. A new demo is now available for free on the Meta Quest Store.

Defend the world as we know it as thousands of computer viruses break through the firewall, threatening the vital memory cores keeping reality stable. Prepare airtight defenses to protect the core from crawling and airborne enemies, surveilling all sides of the room for flying enemies approaching from every angle. Destroy digitized hordes, quickly adapt to new strategies, and keep the cores untouched before the viruses spread their infection!

Build defensive structures to destroy waves of insect-like Crawlers as they forge paths towards the Neurogate mainframe. Position turrets, factoring in each weapon’s field of vision around furniture and other real-world obstacles. Prepare for flying Malworms and turret-targeting missiles, swatting them down by hand to keep structures intact.

In the demo, position two turret variants against three of Xploit Tower Defense’s nine enemy types as waves of Basic Crawlers, Chunky Walkers, and Basic Flyers swarm the Neurogate. Survive five-minute onslaughts in Countdown Mode, then outlast their advances across one level with two difficulty modes to unlock Infinite Mode, where the invasion never stops. Fight for the longest survival time, and compare with other defenders on the global leaderboard.

“The power of mixed reality gives us the opportunity to turn everyday objects into gamified features,” said Antonio Marín, CEO and co-founder of AAA Game Studios. “Now, couches and coffee tables are obstacles and hiding spots, and the dining room can be a personal battlefield! Xploit Tower Defense and this technology allow us to broaden our horizons of what a game can be.”

Xploit Tower Defense prepares for the invasion on November 10, 2026. The new demo is now available on Meta Quest 3 with English language support. To learn more about Xploit Tower Defense and AAA Game Studios, visit the official AAA Game Studios website, follow the game on Twitter, YouTube and TikTok, and search the hashtag #XploitTowerDefense on social media.

About Bladework Games

Bladework Games is an independent game studio striving to create a game that doesn’t just stand out, but defines its own genre. We can’t help it, we want it all: something new, something fun, something that stands out in a sea of same. We know we’re not the only ones searching for something fresh, something worth getting lost in.

Every game we make will be a gamble, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. If you’re looking for the familiar, you’ll find plenty of that elsewhere. But if you’re looking for something bold, something different, something that risks it for the biscuit, you’re in the right place.

To us, games should surprise, challenge, and delight…like stumbling upon a song you never saw coming but can’t stop playing. Our goal is simple: deliver unique, replayable, and approachable multiplayer experiences that leave a lasting mark until we become the very villain we once set out to defeat. Easy, see you at the finish line… or somewhere in the wreckage.

No matter where you run, she will always learn.

September 21, 2026 – Minerva is watching, learning, and waiting. Developer Phase 8 Studio and publisher LINE Games have opened registration for the next playtest of CODE EXIT, ahead of its September 28 through October 19 run. The 1–4 player sci-fi co-op survival horror game sends players into the fallen city of Pantheon under the control of the rogue AI Minerva. A new trailer offers a look at what awaits players when they return to Pantheon, including newly added content coming to the playtest.

Following the game’s July demo and hands-on appearances at BIC 2026 and GXG 2026, CODE EXIT is preparing to send players back into Pantheon as Hermes operatives tasked with completing tactical exploration missions, uncovering hidden secrets, and finding a way out before Minerva closes in. Play solo or team up with up to three others to explore isolated facilities, activate terminals, bypass sealed doors, and scavenge whatever tools can help you survive. All the while, AI Minerva remains in control, forcing players to work together as they navigate the locked-down city and find a way out before it’s too late.

Key Features of CODE EXIT:

  • Solo to Four Player Tactical Co op – Choose to face the nightmare alone or team up with up to three friends. The game scales its intensity based on your group size. Success depends on real-time communication and strategic coordination to stay one step ahead of the chaser.

  • Tactical Planning and Extraction – Strictly divide roles among your team and plan your routes based on the specific conditions and objectives of each site. Fulfilling the team’s objectives and returning safely to base is the only guarantee of survival for the operatives.
  • Persistent Pressure and Dread – Forget simple jump scares. CODE EXIT focuses on a suffocating atmosphere where the chaser is always learning and getting smarter. The tension builds every minute, making each successful escape a true achievement.
