Out Now: Barotrauma Update Calm Before the Storm dives deep with new content

Jupiter, Europa – April 10, 2025Life aboard a submarine isn’t supposed to be easy. And thanks to the new Barotrauma update, Calm Before the Storm, it’s about to get even darker, more disturbed, and violent.

The latest major update for the side-scrolling undersea pressure cooker Barotrauma is now live on Steam. Daedalic Entertainment and developers FakeFish & Undertow Games are bringing new ways to die, new things to shoot, and fresh bugs to accidentally hug.

Whether you’re brave enough to explore alien ruins, reckless enough to throw hands in PvP, or just looking to yell at bots in new and exciting ways, Calm Before the Storm delivers another batch of improvements, reworks, and lovingly implemented chaos. All carefully tuned to ensure one thing: you’re never truly safe beneath Europa’s ice.

Key Features in Calm Before the Storm:

  • Reserve Bench for Permadeath Mode: Players can now recruit bots into reserve and bring them into action when needed — a long-requested addition that also works in standard campaigns.
  • Alien Ruins & Mission: Explore three new ruin modules and take on the “Lost in Ruins” mission, which encourages deeper exploration of alien remains.
  • New PvP Outpost: An alien ruin-themed outpost has been added to the “Outpost Deathmatch” mode for more variety in player-versus-player encounters.
  • Loading Screens & Visual Enhancements: Updated level backgrounds and new loading screen artwork add to the game’s atmosphere and immersion.
  • Expanded Abandoned Outposts: 14 new modules for abandoned outposts have been added, created by longtime community modder NotWendy.

Gameplay and System Improvements:

  • Radiation Balancing: Jovian radiation is now less punishing early on and more dangerous in later stages. Some creatures will benefit from radiation exposure, increasing the threat level.
  • Submarine touch-ups: Reworked the Remora, plus smaller tweaks for the Kastrull and Winterhalter subs.
  • Bot AI refinement: Fixes for ladders, targeting, fire response, and more improve the bot experience significantly.
  • Performance & Bug Fixes: Various optimizations and technical improvements across the board.

The update is now available to all players via the main Steam branch. A public beta has also been running under the “Unstable” branch for those who want an early look at upcoming content.

Tuning Takes the Spotlight in New JDM: Japanese Drift Master Video

Warsaw, 10th of April 2025 A brand-new video from JDM: Japanese Drift Master has just dropped, showcasing the game’s robust tuning system – and this time, it’s all about building the ultimate drift machine.
In this new Tuning Presentation, players get a first-hand look at the creative and mechanical freedom available in JDM: Japanese Drift Master. The spotlight lands on the iconic Nissan 350Z as it’s transformed from a stock setup into a drift-ready beast — both in style and performance.

In JDM: Japanese Drift Master, players can personalize every detail of their car’s appearance — from body kits, rims, bumpers, and fenders to mirrors, spoilers, and exhausts. Even the interior isn’t left out, with swappable steering wheels, gear shifters, and racing seats adding to the immersive, street-racer aesthetic.

On the performance side, JDM offers a deep and rewarding system built for true car enthusiasts. High-end parts such as adjustable suspension, steering components, sway bars, and differentials allow players to fine-tune every aspect of their build. Many upgrades unlock additional layers of setup customization — ideal for those chasing that perfect drift angle or balancing grip and power.

With features like camber tuning, ride height adjustment, and customizable tire setups, every decision matters — and the result is a car that doesn’t just look like a drift legend, but drives like one too.

And this is just the beginning.

A follow-up video diving into grip-focused tuning is coming soon, giving players a peek into how the same system can be used for radically different driving styles.

JDM: Japanese Drift Master hits the road on May 21st. The streets of Japan are waiting — are you ready to leave your mark?

About Japanese Drift Master

JDM: Japanese Drift Master is a simcade experience that blends simulation and arcade elements, creating a thrilling yet accessible racing experience. The realistic physics backbone ensures that each car has its unique handling, allowing you to feel its weight as you take corners or brake at high speeds. The arcade layers added on top help with managing the car at high speeds and ease cornering. From the very start, we focused on delivering realistic driving physics while maintaining an enjoyable balance between authenticity and fun.

Story
The game takes players into the world of Japanese car culture and offers a story full of competition, friendship, ambition, and emotion, presented in the form of dynamic Japanese comic book frames. You will follow the story of Touma, a Polish driver who dreams of making a name for himself on the local street racing scene. With the help of his Japanese friends, he dives deep into the competition but quickly learns that fierce rivals are standing in his way. Will he manage to reach the top? Drama, action, and even love await the players.

High-speed cars

JDM: Japanese Drift Master allows players to get behind the wheel of licensed cars from iconic brands, now also including Honda. Each vehicle has been recreated to provide a realistic driving experience, whether racing on the track or drifting around the winding roads of Japanese mountains. Test them in different events, from fast track races and intense drift challenges to time trials and special head-to-head battles and drag showdowns.

Tuning and modifications

JDM features advanced vehicle tuning and customization options that allow players to fully customize their machines. From installing a new ECU to adding that over-the-top bōsōzoku exhaust – it’s all in the game! Tuning a car is simple and clear and if the players  really want to push their cars to the limit, the most advanced parts will unlock fine tuning – every single car in the game can be adjusted to be a grip or drift beast or an all ‘rounder if that’s the desired preference.

Made for all players

We’re continuously adding presets for a wide range of racing wheels and sim-driving hardware to ensure a seamless experience. Additionally, we’re developing a robust key binding system that allows you to customize virtually any device connected to your PC—perfect for hardware without a dedicated plug-and-play preset. This feature will be available at launch, giving players full control over their setup. And if you prefer a controller or keyboard, don’t worry—JDM: Japanese Drift Master is designed to be just as enjoyable no matter how you play!

JDM: Japanese Drift Master is a single-player, narrative-driven, racing experience developed on Unreal Engine 5. The game launches on Steam, GoG, and Epic Store on Mary 21st, 2025.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and brand-new Badges make waves in April’s update for World of Warships and World of Warships: Legends

Set sail with a wealth of new content across PC and console, including new ships, a limited-time battle type, and the introduction of the infamous Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the console version.

April 10, 2025 – Wargaming, the developer and publisher of the leading cross-platform naval multiplayer game World of Warships, is sailing into spring with two jam-packed updates in World of Warships and World of Warships: Legends. For PC players, World of Warships sees two cruisers awaiting construction in the Dockyard, a new Efficiency Badges system, and a limited-time battle type that features a respawn mechanic. On console, World of Warships: Legends welcomes April with the arrival of the fan-favourite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, plus a new PvE game mode called War Tales, and a Marathon to earn the German cruiser Hindenburg.

Cruisers under construction and brand-new badges in World of Warships

Headlining April’s update for players on PC is a new Dockyard, with two ships up for grabs. Waiting at the end of 20 construction phases is German Tier IX Premium heavy cruiser Blücher. This ship boasts highly accurate shots and armoured piercing shells that come equipped with increased penetration, improved ricochet angles, and flat ballistics. After progressing through the first eight Dockyard phases, players will also unlock Tier VII Commonwealth light cruiser Gambia, equipped with high explosive shells and Short Burst Smoke Generator to help take down enemy ships.

Players confident in their naval combat strategy can now showcase their skills through the addition of Efficiency Badges, which can be earned by completing Random Battles. After each clash, the base experience points of a player’s performance will be compared against the recent average performance of players from around the world, rewarding them with one of four tiered Efficiency Badges to display on the ships in their profile summary. As players improve their standing, climbing from 3rd Grade to Expert, ships will only display its highest ranking badge.

Finally, a temporary battle type is sailing into World of Warships with Unbreakable Line, which welcomes a respawning feature. Running until 15 May, Tier VIII-IX battleships, cruisers, and destroyers can dive into action-packed 7 vs. 7 skirmishes. In a race to achieve 1,000 points, teams will need to win capture points and sink enemy vessels. But sinking these ships isn’t enough, as they’ll instantly respawn with reloaded weapons to jump back into battle.

World of Warships Legends shells out turtle mayhem and a new game mode

As part of April’s update, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are surfing into World of Warships: Legends. Players can sail into battle sporting their most beloved dude, with themed Commander guises and new skins. To celebrate the crossover, players hungry for new cosmetics can also pick up limited-time Pizza Time crates. With two available for free, one can be earned by conquering the new Turtle Power! Mission, and another by battling through the Dragon’s Voyage campaign during the update.

April is also bringing fresh ways to play with War Tales, a brand-new PvE game mode that sees teams of three to five players working together to accomplish specific objectives using ships from Tier III ships upward. Three War Tales will be available to begin with, each with its own unique mission, such as securing a control point or escorting an allied ship. To emerge victorious, communication and solid strategies across teams will be vital.

For players seeking new vessels to lay down destruction with, the Hindenburg Marathon rounds out the April update, offering German Legendary Tier cruiser Hindenburg as the main reward. Spanning across three updates, players will have to work hard to accumulate a special currency known as Ship Parts. These can be earned by completing activities, playing the main campaign, earning bonuses through Store purchases, or by finishing Weekly Assignments.
