SpecialEffect’s flagship One Special Day mobile promotion lands on Friday 2 October

London – October 2nd, 2026 – Gamers’ charity SpecialEffect are inviting gamers to buy and play selected mobile games from some of the biggest names from the industry on Friday 2 October including Hay Day, Golf Clash, Subway Surfers and Dream League Soccer.

Gamers can raise vital funds for the charity by purchasing qualifying titles and DLC from One Special Day industry partners including Sybo, Supercell and Rovio, who will donate a percentage of the resulting UK revenue to the charity’s flagship fundraising campaign.

A full list of games in the mobile promotion can be found here:

The support of the partners and their communities will help the thousands of physically disabled people every year who ask for the charity’s assistance. SpecialEffect’s teams of therapists and technical specialists provide assessments and customised technology loans to help bring joy into the lives of people with disabilities. In turn, the charity pass on what they learn to help hardware and software developers make their products and games easier to use for as many people as possible all over the world.

Deborah Mensah-Bonsu, Social Impact and Sustainability, Supercell, said, “We’ve been proud to partner with SpecialEffect across our games for nearly a decade, and that relationship has grown far beyond One  Special Day. From cycling in Helsinki and joining One Special Walk in London, to learning from their incredible work as we think more deeply about inclusive design. We’re continually inspired by their tenacity,
generosity and tremendous heart, and by how they show the games industry can genuinely change lives for the better.”

Tom Donegan, SpecialEffect COO, added, “We’re truly grateful to our partners for their generous involvement in One Special Day 2026. As demand for our projects and services continues to rise, this valuable contribution will play a vital role in  helping us share the joy of gaming with thousands of people with physical disabilities around the world.”

The charity would like to thank all the One Special Day mobile partners this year: Supercell, Rovio, SYBO, Playdemic, Fingersoft, Supersolid, Hyper Luminal Games, New Star Games, Miniclip, Green Man Gaming and MAG Interactive.

This year’s One Special Day has already featured an extensive Steam Sale, a Green Man Gaming bundle beginning in early October and the second One Special Walk in London. A range of other supporting activities and studio events have also taken place, with the charity hoping to raise in excess of £500K through this eleventh edition of their flagship campaign.

The charity recently launched Open Drive, their first iOS mobile game, specifically designed for players with a wide range of physical disabilities.

Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition is now available on PS5, expanding Atsu’s journey with the new Echoes of Sekigahara narrative expansion and Most Wanted single-player combat survival mode, alongside additional content and updates for Ghost of Yōtei.*

In Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara, players venture into Ashoro Foothills, a previously unseen area of Ezo now controlled by the Vipers, an enemy faction group loyal to the Snake. Told across the present day and flashbacks to the Battle of Sekigahara, the new narrative expansion explores Atsu’s history with Nagato, a key figure from her past who fought alongside her on the mainland.

Along the way, players will encounter new enemy types, wield new heavy weapons, and discover new Mythic Tales, abilities, armor sets, cosmetics, and more.

In Ghost of Yōtei’s new Most Wanted mode, players choose from four playable characters and take on increasingly difficult bounties inspired by the Yōtei Six. Each run challenges players to battle waves of enemies and minibosses, selecting perks and upgrades along the way to build their character before facing the bounty’s final boss.

The playable roster includes Atsu with dual katana, Oyuki with the kusarigama, Nagato with the yari, and Jin Sakai, returning from Ghost of Tsushima with his katana and all four of his signature combat stances. Each character features unique weapons, abilities, Ultimates, and Kill Streaks, while perks spanning weapon mastery, gear loadouts, summons, parries, survivability, and more allow players to experiment with different builds across runs.

Players can also earn Mon to unlock new techniques, weapon upgrades, charms, and characters between runs, while cosmetics earned in Most Wanted carry over to the main game and Echoes of Sekigahara.

Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition is available now for $124.95 AUD and includes the main Ghost of Yōtei game, Ghost of Yōtei Legends online co-op mode, Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted, all in-game content previously included in the Digital Deluxe Edition, and the Charm of Hokkyokusei.**

Existing Ghost of Yōtei owners can access Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted by purchasing the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Upgrade for $22.95 AUD.*

The Complete Edition also includes new Photo Mode stamps, additional New Game+ cosmetics, and new Trophies for Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted.

Additionally, all Ghost of Yōtei owners can download a free update featuring Beauty of Yōtei mode, which allows players to browse the environments of Ezo and explore them in Photo Mode. The update also includes new Watanabe Mode tracks that can be experienced throughout the game, the ability to retain one armor set’s appearance while using another set’s stats, and a new high contrast accessibility option.*

Also announced today, Ghost of Yōtei and Marvel’s Wolverine are the first titles to use Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR), a new technology that improves image detail and stability on PS5. QSSR is available as an additional graphics option for both titles beginning today.

About Yogscast Games

Yogscast Games was established in 2017 with a simple goal: to work with independent teams to develop and publish games that are as fun to watch as they are to play. Responsible for a string of hits such as PlateUp!, which has sold over two million copies on Steam, and Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers, which grossed over $1m in its first month on sale, it prides itself in working with tiny teams doing brilliant things.

About Little Big Ears

Littlebigears is secretly a guy called Tom from Bristol, UK. After over a decade as a freelance motion designer, he wanted to combine his passions for design and coding with his love of gaming. Most importantly, he wanted to move away from the cynical advertising world, and focus on creating projects that would have no ulterior motive aside from creating joy in those who use them. His first project, Glory On Pluto, has been a vessel into which he’s funnelling everything he loves about the roguelike genre, while trying to move away from the idea of non-violent roguelikes being tied directly to real world analogues.
