Overfall Leaving Steam Early Access on May 17th

overfall-screenshot-001

Indie developers Pera Games launched their turn-based RPG Overfall on Steam Early Access back in March. In the last two months, the team has been busy adding extra content, stomping bugs, and balancing the game. Their work is finally paying off, as Overfall will reach a full release next week on May 17th on Linux, Mac, and Windows.

Overfall mixes in diplomatic and rogue-like elements with classic turn-based RPG gameplay. Overfall is set in a archipelago ravaged by war, where two heroes are seeking their lost king. They must navigate not only a world filled with dangerous enemies, but also one filled with choppy diplomatic waters. Once players finish Overfall’s story, they can dive right into the story builder and create a new epic to share with the community. With the help of writer Chris Avellone (Icewind Dale, Planescape: TormentFallout: New Vegas), Pera Games has compiled a writing style guide to help writers craft their story in line with Overfall’s lore.

Overfall is available now for $9.99 USD on Steam.

Stellaris Day One Sales Breaks Paradox Records

Stellaris Day One Sales Breaks Paradox Records

Grand Strategy SciFi Game Rivaling the Success of Cities: Skylines

STOCKHOLM – MAY 10TH – Paradox Interactive and Paradox Development Studio launched into space last night with the release of sci-fi grand strategy Stellaris.  The launch was received  to almost universal acclaim by the community, with an impressive 95% positive user reviews on Steam.  With 68,000 simultaneous players on the day of release, Stellaris also managed to de-throne the publisher’s other recent success Cities: Skylines, which  previously held their record for highest amount of concurrent players at launch.  Less than 24 hours after release, Stellaris has sold over 200,000 units, breaking the revenue record for any of Paradox Interactive’s previous titles during the same time period. For the internal development studio, the game has broken every record available and is the studio’s fastest selling game ever.

“We are immensely proud of the Paradox team for putting together such a stellar release,” said Fredrik Wester, CEO of Paradox Interactive and master of puns. “This release is the result of hard work and dedication from the entire company and in particular Paradox Development Studio. The incredible reception by players, indicated for instance by the steam user reviews, is all the proof we could ask for that our hard work paid off. Our fans have put their faith in us and Stellaris will be a part of Paradox’s onwards journey for a long time to come.”

Stellaris breaks a lot of new ground for Paradox Development Studio. It is a type of game we have never attempted to do before, and we are immensely satisfied to see this leap of faith work out well, especially with all the positive response we are getting from the players,” said Henrik Fåhraeus, Game Director of Stellaris.  “We are listening very keenly to all the feedback we are getting and look forward to many years of continued expansions and improvements to the game. Let’s make space great again, together!”

In Stellaris, players guide a species of their own design to power and glory in the depths of space. From humble beginnings, as players leave their home planet and explore the unknown, to tense “first contact” moments with alien species, to the difficult choices and responsibilities of managing diplomatic relationships with other star-faring races, Stellaris presents the iconic gameplay of a Paradox grand strategy title on a galactic scale. With randomly created opponents and procedurally generated star systems, no two games can ever play out the same way.

Stellaris is available now from digital retailers everywhere. To learn more about Stellaris, visit www.stellarisgame.com.

Pokemon Sun & Moon First Footage Shows Starters and More

Pokemon-sun-moon-box-art-01

Nintendo has finally delivered on showing some Pokemon Sun and Moon footage and there a number of pretty big things to take away. First off, trainer customization from X & Y is returning with different genders, skin colours and outfits.

pokemon-sun-moon-customisation-01

Secondly, gone is the games chibi style. Your main avatar and the rest of the world are now all full size, similar to how the trainers used to appear outside of the games over world in X & Y. Third, the region is called Alola and is based on a tropical island, seemingly taking a lot of inspiration from Hawaii.

pokemon-sun-moon-screenshot-01

We also have five brand new Pokemon designs including the 3 starter Pokemon which retain their classic grass, fire, water typing and the two main legendary Pokemon which will no doubt be integral to the story.

Pokemon-sun-moon-starters-01

First up is Rowlet, which is of the fairly rare Grass/Flying typing. This Grass Quill Pokemon can attack without making a sound! It flies silently through the skies, drawing near to its opponent without being noticed, and then lashing out with powerful kicks.

pokemon-sun-moon-rowlet-02

It can also attack from a distance using the razor-sharp leaves that form part of its feathers. Rowlet also learns a brand new attack called Leafage, which we are guessing will just be a low damage physical grass type move.

pokemon-sun-moon-litten-01

If you’re a fire type fan then Litten is your Pokemon. This Fire Cat Pokemon can attack with flaming hairballs! Its fur is rich in oils and immensely flammable. Litten grooms itself by licking its fur, and then uses the collected fur as fuel for fireball attacks! When the time comes for Litten to shed its old fur, it all burns up in a glorious blaze.

pokemon-sun-moon-litten-02

If water is more your style then you’ll be looking to start with Poppilo, the Sea Lion Pokemon. Popplio can snort out balloons made of water! Watch it spin water balloons into a playful battle strategy!

pokemon-sun-moon-popplio-01

Both frivolous and hard-working, Popplio can easily get carried away—unleashing enough power in battle to make quite a spectacle! But Popplio’s determined spirit means it can usually be found practicing hard on its balloon skills. Unlike previous games, these starters will know more than just tackle and growl, with each knowing it’s respective elemental move when you receive them.

pokemon-sun-moon-popplio-02

The final two Pokemon revealed have yet to receive official names but were shown on both the games cover art and in some in-game footage. I think you’ll be able to tell which one represents the Sun and which represents the Moon pretty easily. It looks like both Pokemon are outside some sort of Sun/Moon temple.

pokemon-sun-moon-legenadry-01pokemon-sun-moon-legenadry-02

We also have an official release date. Pokemon Sun & Moon will release on November 18th worldwide except for in Europe where the release date is shifted back five days later to the 23rd with no reason given as of yet. Australains rejoice, we have not been lumped in with Europe this time around and we will get the game on the 18th as well as confirmed by the official Nintendo AU Twitter.

The game is exclusive to the 3DS console and we believe is compatible with Pokemon X & Y, Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Pokemon Bank and as mentioned previously, the virtual console versions of Pokemon Blue, Red and Yellow. You can watch the new trailer below and be sure to let us know what you think of these new Pokemon designs in the comments below. Personally I think these are the worst designs for the starters yet but maybe they’ll grow on me. I’m still excited to see what they’ll do with their 1st and 2nd evolutionary stage designs.

CHOOSE YOUR PARTNER— BRAND-NEW POKÉMON REVEALED!

CHOOSE YOUR PARTNER— BRAND-NEW POKÉMON REVEALED!

Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon coming to Nintendo 3DS family of systems on November 23

London, UK– May 10, 2016 – The Pokémon Company International has unveiled the first details of the highly anticipated titles Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, starting with a first look at three new first-partner Pokémon and the packaging. Pokémon Sunand Pokémon Moon will launch in Europe on November 23, exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems.

Following in the tradition of previous games in the Pokémon series, players choose one of three special Pokémon to be their first partner. These are among the first Pokémon players will encounter in the game. In Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, players will be able to choose between the newly discovered Grass- and Flying-type Pokémon Rowlet, Fire-type Litten, and Water-type Popplio.

For a Pokémon Trainer, knowing the Pokémon types and how they match up against one another in battle is vital. Grass-type Pokémon are strong against Water types, but weak against Fire types. Fire-type Pokémon are strong against Grass types and weak against Water types. And Water-type Pokémon are strong against Fire types, but weak against Grass types.

Meet the three new first-partner Pokémon that will join Trainers on their adventures in the upcoming Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon games!

Name: Rowlet
Category: Grass Quill Pokémon
Height: 1 ’00 “
Weight: 3.3 lbs.
Type: Grass/Flying
Starting Move: Leafage

The first of the potential partners is the highly adaptable Grass Quill Pokémon, Rowlet. This Pokémon can fly silently through the skies, sneaking up on its opponent without being noticed. It can attack its opponents using powerful kicks, and it can also attack from a distance using the razor-sharp leaves that form part of its feathers. Rowlet can survey its environment and turn its neck nearly 180 degrees from front to back, so it can see directly behind itself. When in battle, Rowlet turns its head to face its Trainer when waiting for instructions.

Name: Litten
Category: Fire Cat Pokémon
Height: 1 ’04 “
Weight: 9.5 lbs.
Type: Fire
Starting Move: Ember

The cool-headed Fire Cat Pokémon, Litten, is the next choice for a first-partner Pokémon. Litten’s fur is rich in oils and is immensely flammable. It constantly grooms itself by licking its coat, collecting loose fur into balls. It then ignites these hairballs to create fireball attacks. When the time comes for Litten to molt, it burns off all of its fur in one glorious blaze.

Name: Popplio
Category: Sea Lion Pokémon
Height: 1 ’04 “
Weight: 16.5 lbs.
Type: Water
Starting Move: Water Gun

The third possibility is the acrobatic Sea Lion Pokémon, Popplio. Popplio can create balloons made of water from its nose and utilize them to create a variety of different strategies and attacks in battle. This Pokémon is better at moving in the water than on land, and can swim at speeds over 25 mph. On land, it uses the elasticity of the balloons it creates to perform jumps and acrobatic stunts.

A brand-new trailer that showcases these three new partner Pokémon, brand new game play in action and the package art can be found here: http://bit.ly/1VRCJ25

More information and details about Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will be unveiled throughout the course of 2016.

Future Trunks Returns in New Dragon Ball Super Arc

future-trunks-01

When Dragon Ball Super was first announced no one knew how long it would be running for but now we have some confirmation the anime will be here to stay for quite a while longer with Toei announcing the Future Trunks arc. Toriyama teased in a recent interview that a “popular character from the future” would be making an appearance and looks like our guess of Trunks was correct.

The official statement from the Dragon Ball Super Twitter page states that the future should be at peace after Trunks defeated Cell, however a strong new enemy has appeared that Trunks can’t take on alone. This causes him to jump back in the time machine and visit the past (the main timeline we all know) in hope of enlisting help from Goku and the others.

dragon-ball-super-trunks

Toriyama released two new illustrations of what the now older Trunks will look like in this new arc and also had some comments of his own to add that expand on the plot synopsis. Like with the entirety of Super, Toriyama has provided a plot outline but then leaves it up to the script writers to break that down into episodes and expand on his story from there.

Toriyama states the foe that has forced him to return to the past is ‘Black Goku’. He leaves up in the air what this means so we don’t know if he means this Goku will  be more of an evil incarnation or if it will be a Goku with dark skin or a Goku with a shadow appearance. He does give the hint that you can probably guess what type of guy he is from his name but that still doesn’t help much.

dragon-ball-omni-king-01

He then continues to write that this is only the start of a battle that will surpass time and space which will include God of Destruction, Kai and even the newly introduced Omni-King, the king of everything including the 12 universes. Due to Japanese translation and how the language does plurals, it is unclear if the above titles refer to multiple Gods of Destruction or just one (most likely Beerus), so we’re left guessing on that too but with Omni-King teasing a tournament between all 12 universes in recent episodes I am leaning towards the former.

So in conclusion Future Trunks is back with a new design, Evil Goku could be happening and a massive battle will be taking place most likely involving multiple Kais, Gods of Destruction and the Omni-King himself. This is going to be a wild ride! The new arc will start airing in Japan on June 12th. Until then, the remaining episodes appear to be more light hearted in nature, involving antics with baby Pan, Goten and young Trunks.

dragon-ball-xenoverse-custom-character-screenshot-08

Are you excited to see Trunks return? Personally I love the sound of this arc, I’m really hoping Trunks mentions something about Buu as I always wondered if he ever appeared in that timeline. Trunks has appeared in many games now as a member of the Time Patrol, so it will be interesting to see if they tie that in at all. Some keen eyed fans have spotted the collar on Trunks newly designed green sweater matches that of his Time Patrol outfit, but it’s too early to say if that’s just coincidence. Keep checking back with Capsule Computers for all the latest Dragon Ball news and expect our review of theUniverse 6 vs Universe 7 Tournament Arc of Dragon Ball Super in the coming days.

About Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege

Inspired by real-world counter-terrorist organizations, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege puts players in the middle of lethal close-quarter confrontations. For the first time in a Rainbow Six game, players will engage in sieges, a new style of assault where enemies have the means to transform their environments into modern strongholds while Rainbow Six teams lead the assault to breach the enemy’s position. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege gives players unprecedented control over their ability to fortify their position by reinforcing walls and floors, using barbed wire and deployable shields, laying mines and more, or to breach the enemies’ position using observation drones, setting charges, rappelling and more. The fast pace and uniqueness of each siege sets a new bar for intense firefights, strategic gameplay and competitive gaming.
