New extended NieR: Automata video highlights RPG elements of Action-RPG title

LONDON (1st March 2017) – To help players get ready for the upcoming release of NieR: Automata™, Square Enix Ltd., today released a new video that showcases some of the various RPG elements that feature in the game. The video highlights several gameplay systems, skills and features that provide depth to the game’s fast-paced action.

Showcased elements include:

  • “Reliquary” System – Players can return to where their characters were defeated to gain additional buffs, or even gain an ally to assist in their battle against the fearsome machines.
  • 17 Different Pod Skills – Using “Pods,” your mini-robot companions, players can not only temporarily hover or be thrown distances to access additional areas, but each Pod can be programmed with a variety of offensive and defense skills, including lasers, hammers, and more. By using up to three Pods at the same time, players can also charge their skills to make them up to three times stronger.
  • “Plug-in-Chip” System – By installing chips into your android body, players can increase damage and add skills to help survive against enemies.
  • Riding System – Players can ride boars and other wildlife for quicker travel, while also using them to attack.
  • Quest Hub – As players immerse themselves in the desolate world, they can take on a variety of sub-quests from multiple Quest Hubs scattered throughout.
  • Fishing Mini-game Players can catch a variety of fish through this mini-game to sell or gain temporary beneficial status effect.

More than 60 quality indie games confirmed for Nintendo Switch throughout 2017

1st March 2017 – The Nintendo Switch console launches on 3rd March, and people can expect an exciting line-up of games on Nintendo eShop for day one and beyond. Nintendo has been working closely with independent publishers and developers to deliver a steady flow of unique and original experiences to Nintendo eShop.

More than 60 quality indie games are confirmed for Nintendo Switch this year alone, and many games take advantage of unique Nintendo Switch features, including multiple play modes (TV mode, handheld mode, tabletop mode), flexible control options, local and online multiplayer*, and innovative Joy-Con functionality like HD rumble. In a Nintendo Switch Nindies Showcase video, Nintendo highlighted some of these games that are in development.

  • Runner3 from Choice Provisions: Runner3 continues the joyous adventures of CommanderVideo from BIT.TRIP RUNNER and Runner2. Players will encounter quests, branching paths, item shops, new Retro Challenges, new character moves, new dance moves, and a roster of characters that somehow manages to rival the strangeness of Runner2. The game is scheduled to launch exclusively for Nintendo Switch this spring.
  • SteamWorld Dig 2 from Image & Form Games: In the sequel to the award-winning original you must dig deep, gain riches and explore an underworld riddled with danger. The game is scheduled to launch this winter.
  • Yooka-Laylee from Team17 and Playtonic Games: Explore huge, beautiful worlds, meet an unforgettable cast of characters and horde a vault-load of shiny collectibles as buddy-duo Yooka (the green one) and Laylee (the wisecracking bat with the big nose). The buddy-duo platformer is coming to Nintendo Switch soon, with multiplayer functionality perfect for the system.
  • Blaster Master Zero from Inti Creates: The same elements that made the original Blaster Master a hit are back, including side-scrolling vehicular combat, top-down adventuring and a huge sci-fi landscape, in addition to a host of new and improved gameplay systems. The game includes a two-player mode and will have numerous character cameos coming soon. Blaster Master Zero launches exclusively on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS family systems in March.
  • Pocket Rumble from Chucklefish Games and Cardboard Robot Games: This deep 2D fighter makes players want to throw down, anywhere, anytime. The battles get even more intense with the inclusion of HD rumble: when players get hit by a weak attack, it’ll feel very different from getting rocked by a strong one. The game is scheduled to launch as a console exclusive for Nintendo Switch in March.
  • Flipping Death from Zoink Games: Welcome to Flatwood Peaks, a small whimsical town with a problem – Death is on vacation. Play as Penny and help the ghosts with their peculiar problems on The Otherside. This puzzling adventure game is scheduled to come to Nintendo Switch later this year.
  • Mr. Shifty from tinyBuild and Team Shifty: Shift through bullets, and master lightning-fast takedowns in a new kind of action game. Mr. Shifty follows a teleportation-fuelled heist to break into the world’s most secure facility. Shift through walls, through bullets, cover huge distances and be everywhere at once. One shot kills. Survive on skills. HD rumble allows players to feel every punch, shot and crash. The game is scheduled to launch first on Nintendo Switch this April.
  • WarGroove from Chucklefish Games: This turn-based strategy game offers local and online** matches for one to four players. The game is scheduled to launch later this year.
  • Stardew Valley from Chucklefish Games and ConcernedApe: Nintendo Switch will be the first console to support the game’s new multiplayer feature. The open-ended, country-life RPG is scheduled to launch this winter.
  • Shakedown Hawaii from vBlank: This 16-bit spiritual successor to Retro City Rampage aims to be twice as good with twice the bits. From the boardroom to the streets, Shakedown Hawaii parodies big business and the white collar crimes that go alongside. Build your empire, monopolize the markets and collaterally re-zone the island’s destructible sandbox. It’s scheduled to launch first on Nintendo Switch this April.
  • Graceful Explosion Machine from Vertex Pop: Skilfully pilot the advanced Graceful Explosion Machine (GEM) fighter while blasting swarms of crystalline enemies with your ludicrously overpowered quad-weapon array. This side-scrolling arcade shooter features HD rumble support, which means players will really be able to feel those machines explode. The game is scheduled to launch this April.
  • Tumbleseed from aeiowu: A small seed heads up a mountain to save his home in this physics-based puzzle game. More than 30 unique upgrades help the seed overcome challenges and enemies. HD rumble means players will feel seeds traversing across the screen. The game is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch this autumn.
  • Overcooked: Special Edition from Team17 and Ghost Town Games: In Overcooked, players must journey through a variety of cruel and unusual kitchens on their quest to become master chefs capable of conquering an ancient edible evil which plagues the land. Play solo or engage in classic, chaotic couch co-op for up to four players in both co-operative and competitive challenge modes. The special edition features the original game, plus all of the DLC. HD rumble integration means players can feel every chop through a tomato and the slosh of soup in a pot. Overcooked: Special Edition is coming later this year.
  • The Escapists 2 from Team17: The sequel to the hugely popular prison escape series supports drop-in/drop-out co-op for up to four players***. Players can tie together knotted sheets and use them to climb down high windows in new multi-level prisons and find other new ways to make a break for freedom. The Escapists 2 is coming later this year.
  • GoNNER from Raw Fury and Art In Heart: GoNNER is a score-based, procedurally generated platformer with roguelike elements. GoNNER is also a story about friendship between Ikk, Death and a space whale named Sally. The console version of the game launches first on Nintendo Switch with additional content tailor-made for the console later this year.
  • Kingdom: Two Crowns from Raw Fury and Noio: In Kingdom: Two Crowns, attend to your domain, border to border, or venture into the wild to discover its wonders and threats. First revealed today, two players can come together in co-op mode to rule a kingdom. Their choices bring hope or despair to their subjects. The game is scheduled to launch later this year.
  • Dandara from Raw Fury and Long Hat House: Dandara has awoken to reshape the world. In this strange world of quirky characters, nothing is as it seems. In this bizarre, gravity- bending world with hidden beauty, it’s up to Dandara, jumping from surface to surface, to restore order and direct a directionless world. The game is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch this winter with exclusive features and functionality, including HD rumble support.

James Cameron’s Pandora Being Brought to Life on PC and Console by Massive, the Ubisoft Studio Behind Tom Clancy’s The Division™  

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — March 1, 2017 — Ubisoft® has announced it is partnering with Lightstorm Entertainment and Fox Interactive to create a cutting-edge new game for consoles and PC set on Pandora, the beautiful and dangerous moon from James Cameron’s Avatar film franchise. Massive Entertainment, a Ubisoft studio, is leading the game’s development.

Massive is behind the creation of Tom Clancy’s The Division™, which last spring broke multiple records in the games industry, including the record for the industry’s best-selling new game franchise in an opening week. They are now working on a new AAA-project based on Avatar, the highest-grossing film of all time. Four sequels to Avatar are currently in development, and Lightstorm, Fox Interactive and Massive are working together to create a game that will continue to expand and deepen in the Avatar universe in exciting and innovative ways along with the films.

“James Cameron and Lightstorm Entertainment changed the way we think about immersive storytelling with the first Avatar, and the ambition that they have for the forthcoming films and this game is really inspiring,” said David Polfeldt, Managing Director, Massive. “It’s a privilege to work with them and we’re honoured that they’ve entrusted us to create an experience worthy of the Avatar name.”

 

Cameron and Lightstorm entered this partnership after viewing an early game prototype the team at Massive created using its proprietary Snowdrop engine. Snowdrop is a tailor-made, custom game engine that enables the creation of ultra-realistic game universes, enhanced by dynamic global illumination, stunning real-time destruction and an incredible amount of detail and visual effects. It was used to develop The Division, and also is the engine behind a number of other unannounced Ubisoft projects.

“What impressed me about Massive were the group’s passion for this project and the power of its Snowdrop engine,” said Cameron. “I believe Ubisoft’s team at Massive Entertainment are absolutely the right partners to bring the beauty and danger of Pandora to life.”

The Wacky Rabbids Are Back To Race Their Way To The Moon

Sydney – March 1, 2017 –Ubisoft revealed that Rabbids Crazy Rush, an all-new action runner game, is now available to download for free on the App Store and Google Play. Developed by Ubisoft Chengdu, Rabbids Crazy Rush is based on the Rabbids franchise which has sold more than 14 million video games worldwide and are featured in a television show that airs in more than 110 countries. The game will challenge players to run, jump and slide their way over various obstacles to aid the Rabbids in their latest, crazy plan to reach the moon.

In Rabbids Crazy Rush, our favorite Rabbids are back with new insane plots to allow them to return home to the moon. Players must collect cans that will provide the gas to power the Rabbids’ moon-bound balloon. From warm sunny beaches and lively farms, to crowded cities, players will race to gather supplies by wreaking havoc in the colorful and quirky world of the Rabbids. The wild missions send players smashing into walls, getting propelled in to the sky, and even catching octopuses. With the assistance of numerous powers and abilities, players will guide their Rabbids around the world and suit them up with zany outfits such as Biker, Luchador, Ninja or Captain Underwear.

Rabbids Crazy Rush is the wackiest runner game combining both humor and racing, while players explore the crazy world of the Rabbids. The washing machine lottery helps players dash their way through the game by providing exclusive jackpots and unlockable vehicles. The Rabbids invade virtual reality for the first time in an exclusive mobile experience on Daydream

Ubisoft® has also announced that Virtual Rabbids®: The Big Plan, the first VR Rabbids experience on mobile, will be released this spring on Daydream, Google’s platform for high quality mobile VR. Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier in collaboration with Bucharest, specifically for virtual reality, the mobile game is based on the Rabbids franchise which has sold more than 14 million video games worldwide and are featured in a television show that airs in more than 110 countries.

In Virtual Rabbids, a few irreverent Rabbids have stolen and scrambled a top secret nuclear safety password. You are called upon by a classified government agency to travel through different locations in a hilarious adventure to recover the missing digits. Players will find themselves in some of the most precarious situations as they race to save the planet.

Daydream gives players the opportunity to get closer to the Rabbids than ever before. Using the headset and controller, players will be plunged into the crazy world of Rabbids which includes various worlds which are full of hidden toys and an arsenal of tools and nutty gadgets to interact with. March 1, 2017 – Today, EA and DICE revealed the first details of all four expansion packs included in Battlefield 1 Premium Pass* with Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Pass, Battlefield 1 In the Name of the Tsar, Battlefield 1 Turning Tides and Battlefield 1 Apocalypse. To expand the global conflict and build on the game’s award-winning multiplayer experience, players will be able to defend their homeland as the hardened French Army and battle in treacherous snow covered ravines with the Russian Army. Players can also engage in intense naval clashes and conquer fiercely disputed ground in the most infamous battles of the Great War. The expansion packs will also include 16 new multiplayer maps, 20 new weapons, and new elite classes. Additionally, Battlefield 1 Premium Pass members will get two-week early access to each unreleased expansion pack, plus 14 Superior Battlepacks, priority sever access and more.

The four themed digital expansion packs consist of:

Battlefield 1 They Shall Not Pass
Play as one of the most ferocious armies in WW1 – the French. Engage in the savage fighting around the furnace of Verdun, and descend into the bowels of Fort de Vaux where barbarous battles rage in the gas-filled corridors. Take part in the largest tank assault of the war by the Aisne riverbanks.

Battlefield 1 In the Name of the Tsar
Enter the biggest front of WW1 with the Russian Army. Ride in Galicia with the legendary Hussars during the Brusilov offensive. Partake in the skirmishes of the Albion assault in a freezing archipelago and fight in the snow covered ravines of the treacherous Lupkow Pass.

Battlefield 1 Turning Tides
Participate in the amphibious warfare of WW1. Embark with the new destroyer into intense tactical naval clashes. Master the coastal class airship in the fierce interplay between land, air and sea. Engage in the daredevil Zeebrugge raid and storm the beaches in the first days of the Gallipoli offensive.

Battlefield 1 Apocalypse
Go over the top in the most infamous battles of WW1. Conquer bitterly contested ground with brutal tools and unique weapons born out of desperation and deadlock. Never before have the nightmarish horrors of the Great War been closer as you descend into hell. Prepare to enter the Apocalypse.
