Micro Machines to Make a Triumphant Return on June 23rd

Larkspur, Calif. – May 24, 2017 – Codemasters & Deep Silver today released the second gameplay trailer for the eagerly anticipated Micro Machines World Series ahead of its release on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, the all-in-one entertainment system by Microsoft, and Windows PC via Steam on June 23rd. Racing has always been at the heart of Micro Machines, and Micro Machines World Series jolts that heartbeat back into action. With hundreds of customizations available, you can race in style and make sure you stand out on every race’s starting line. Chief Game Designer Gavin Cooper said, “For the first time in a Micro Machines game, every car has its own entirely distinct personality … and arsenal. Each gives players a different way to play and enjoy the game, meaning fans of the series will have plenty to sink their teeth into.”

“Players will quickly gain an affinity with a particular vehicle and find it suits their style of play,” he continued. “You can master one vehicle collecting all the 25+ customizations, but then have a whole host of variety choosing and mastering all the other vehicles in the game.”

Each ride has a slightly different feel, and even sound, in Micro Machines World Series. Choose from 12 distinctly individual vehicles, from the twitchy-but-agile rear wheel drive hot rod of El Incendio to the scarily-good all-rounder monster truck of Hank N. Stein.

Micro Machines World Series also boasts a great mix of classic and new tracks and arenas. Art Director Stuart Campbell says: “New locations like the workshop complement Micro Machines classics like the games room and classroom. Dodging pool balls while trying to shoot a G.I. JOE MOBAT has never looked so good or felt so fun.”

Players will also pick up items on the track in the form of Hasbro-branded NERF blasters and NERF power-ups. All these can be deployed in Hasbro-branded locations including an Ouija board or in the middle of a Hungry Hungry Hippos battle.

Skövde, Sweden – May 24th, 2017 – Swedish developers Coilworks and publishers Double Eleven have given a sneak peak into the changeable visual styles in their upcoming title Super Cloudbuilt, which releases on PlayStation™ 4, Xbox One and Steam this summer.

A newly-added graphics setting allows players to change, with a dramatic variation in style, how their game looks. One of the defining aspects of Super Cloudbuilt is its strong visual style: bold colours, bright effects and gorgeous cross-hatched shading, which give the effect that the game is being hand-drawn in real time. So when the art style is so central to the game’s design, why allow players to see it differently?

Super Cloudbuilt is a sci fi rocket-parkour game, with emphasis on exploration, speedrunning and skill. Players have several paths to complete each level, the option to slow down, explore your environment and collect powerups, and experience multiple endings. You’re in charge of how the game plays, so why not how it looks as well?

By switching the game to ‘Painted’ mode, players can turn off the cross-hatching and enjoy the world as though it was a watercolour piece of art. By selecting ‘Key Colors’ mode, you can remove the colors from much of the background so that obstacles and enemies stand out brightly and are quickly identified. If you pause your game just right in ‘Sketch’, your screenshots look like they’re torn from the pages of an artist’s sketchpad.

“During the debug process, we saw hints of what is now ‘Low Noise’ mode and liked it so much that we really wanted the players to see it,” said Anders Davallius, creative director at Coilworks. “We decided to give players more flexibility based on their personal preference, giving them new ways to experience Super Cloudbuilt by providing styles that we thought looked cool and felt unique.”
