Logitech’s New Wireless Gaming Mouse Never Needs to be Plugged In

Logitech has invented a wireless mouse that never needs to be plugged in for a recharge. No, you aren’t dreaming, so stop pinching yourself. The new Logitech Powerplay technology modifies wireless charging technology used for charging cellphones to allow a mouse to be charged over a large surface area. By creating a large electromagnetic field over the entire mouse pad, a wireless mouse can be charged at all times.

Logitech is using their Logitech G line of gaming peripherals as the launch pad for their new technology. Two of their existing wireless mice are getting new versions that will support the technology. The Logitech G903 will cost $149.99 USD and the Logitech G703 will cost $99.99 USD. Both mice will be in stores by the end of June. The Powerplay mouse pad will be a separate purchase at $99.99 USD and will arrive in stores in August. Once the Powerplay mouse mat is purchased, users will simply need to replace the mouse battery with the Powercore, reboot the mouse, and they can kiss cables goodbye.

EXPLORE A DESERT WORLD FILLED WITH MYSTERY IN EVER OASIS, COMING TO NINTENDO 3DS FAMILY SYSTEMS ON 24TH JUNE 2017

A brand new IP that combines action adventure RPG and town management gameplay elements with a visually distinctive art style and emotionally-driven storyline

13th June, 2017 –The new game from Koichi Ishii, the renowned creator of the acclaimed Mana series of RPGs, Ever Oasis will open up a whole new world for players to explore when it launches for Nintendo 3DS family systems on 24th June 2017. Mr Ishii recently took the time to share some insights into the game’s development process, and the first instalment of his article – The world of Ever Oasis – part 1 – is available to read now.

Ever Oasis is a brand new take on the action adventure RPG genre, developed by Grezzo, the team who brought The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D to Nintendo 3DS. Taking the role of a plant-like Seedling, the player must team up with the Water Spirit Esna in order to build a new oasis in the desert – a place of safety and respite in a world threatened by the spread of the life-stealing Chaos. By helping visitors who arrive at the oasis, the player can encourage them to take up residence and set up their own shops known as Bloom Booths. These will generate income and, over time, transform the oasis into a thriving hub of activity. Heroes must also venture out into the desert, to gather valuable resources and uncover the secrets that lie in the many puzzle-filled dungeons throughout the world. New allies may join the adventuring party too, and they’ll be needed, as the taint of Chaos is everywhere, and a host of enemies stand ready to attack our hero in exciting real-time combat.

Tying all of this together is the story, which constitutes the emotional heart of the game. As Mr Ishii explains, “The story has been designed to illustrate the importance of kindness and, at times, to touch the heart.” In his recent article The world of Ever Oasis – part 1, he touched upon this theme again, and how it relates to the character design in-game: “The story of Ever Oasis is all about working with your friends and supporting each other, so we didn’t want to create a hero who could do everything by themselves. Heroes will encounter all sort of situations in which it’s impossible to progress without help from other residents of the oasis.” In a game which requires careful gathering and management of resources, as the story unfolds the player may learn that friendship is an even more important resource to nurture.

Additionally, an exclusive pre-launch reward will be available on My Nintendo. Members can save 10% on a purchase of Ever Oasis from Nintendo eShop, by exchanging 30 Gold Points between 16th June and 1st July (until 5:00pm AEST). The discount will be applied for purchases between 24th June and 7th July.

Stay tuned for further insights from Mr Ishii in the weeks leading up to 24th June, when the game launches for Nintendo 3DS family systems in Australia and New Zealand.

CAPCOM ANNOUNCES MULTI-PLATFORM MONSTER HUNTER: WORLD™ FOR PLAYSTATION®4, XBOX ONE, AND PC

New Entry for Critically Acclaimed Series Marks Its First Globally Unified Release

Sydney, 13th June 2017 – At the Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) E3 press conference today, Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, announced Monster Hunter: World™, the latest entry in the 40 million unit selling action RPG series. Monster Hunter: World introduces a living, breathing ecosystem in which players take on the role of a hunter that seeks and slays ferocious beasts in heart-pounding battles that unfold across the vast ever-changing terrain. Venture on quests alone or with up to three hunters in a newly designed online drop-in multiplayer system which allows cross-region cooperative play between Japan and the west, uniting the player base for the first time ever. Monster Hunter: World will also be the first game in the series with a worldwide simultaneous launch window and is planned for release on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One in early 2018, with a PC release to follow at a later date.

Retaining the series’ skill based progression and robust crafting system, players gear up to venture on quests to seek and slay monsters, progressively improving their skills to become the ultimate hunter. Loot collected from fallen foes can be used to create new equipment and armour upgrades styled after the monsters they’ve slain, allowing hunters to survive the elements and defeat the tougher opponents that await them.

Monster Hunter: World delivers a seamless gameplay experience allowing players to move freely across map areas that comprise the living ecosystems and dynamically transition from day to night. The landscape and its diverse inhabitants play a critical role in each quest as players strategically use the surrounding environment including terrain, vegetation and wildlife to their advantage in battle or become hindered by the hazards they present. Hunters must use their cunning and skill to track and manoeuvre their targets throughout the intense, evolving battles.

With flexible online multiplayer options and an accessible quest structure, players can tackle challenges alone or join up to three other hunters online for cooperative play. For the first time in theMonster Hunter™ series, players from Japan and the west can play together online, providing an expanded base of cooperative hunting companions. With the new online drop-in functionality, solo players can hail for assistance from the worldwide group during quests when their opponents are too daunting to take on single-handedly.

Attendees of E3 are invited to check out extended live gameplay presentations of Monster Hunter: World at both the Capcom booth in South Hall #2023 and the Sony booth in West Hall #4322. The two booths will offer separate but complementary showcases of the adventures that await players.

UBISOFT® DEBUTS SPACE JUNKIES™, A JETPACK-FUELED ARCADE SHOOTER FOR VIRTUAL REALITY

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — June 13, 2017 — Ubisoft® has unveiled Space Junkies™, a jetpack-fuelled arcade shooter developed exclusively for virtual reality gaming. The game features visceral, fast-paced multiplayer competition set in three-dimensional orbital Arenas, and leverages full VR embodiment and navigation to immerse players in intense micro-gravity battles. Space Junkies will be available on Oculus Rift + Touch and HTC Vive in spring 2018.

Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, Space Junkies pits players in 1-vs.-1 or 2-vs.-2 combat inside the Dirty Bowl, a collection of space Arenas that dynamically respond to players’ actions and allow them to navigate and attack from any direction. The game features an arsenal of outlandish, customizable, joinable and – thanks to the Oculus Touch and Vive controllers – grab-able weapons that let players alter their assault tactics in order to best take down their opponents.

Space Junkies is powered by Brigitte, a new proprietary virtual reality engine created at Ubisoft Montpellier. Brigitte is designed to evolve and adapt to the way worlds can now be created for VR, as well as including the new VR interfaces in the development process and map creations.

“Space Junkies is for VR players who are looking for something new and insane and that will get their competitive juices flowing,” said Adrian Lacey, Producer, Ubisoft Montpellier. “We are creating a multiplayer, competitive, adrenaline-filled shooter that’s out of this Galaxy, and gives players freedom to take full advantage of the evolution of player to machine interfaces that only virtual reality can offer.”

UBISOFT® INVITES PLAYERS TO ENTER THE HOME OF A MIND IN TRANSFERENCE™

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — June 13, 2017 — Ubisoft® has unveiled the psychological thriller, Transference™. The game is developed by FunHouse, a division of Ubisoft Montreal, in collaboration with SpectreVision, the production company founded by Elijah Wood, Daniel Noah and John C. Waller. The game will be released in spring 2018 on PlayStation®VR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive as well as on Playstation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, and Windows PC.

Players will navigate a digital recreation of the mind, working to unfold the secrets of a home concealing a corrupted truth. While exploring and solving the mysteries of the house, players will cross paths with a family, each member with a story and a unique perspective on events buried in their memories. Every choice made by the player will have consequences and influence the family’s fate.

“The game is a thrilling mixture of both our experience in story-telling and Ubisoft’s unparalleled skill at crafting deeply immersive worlds,” said Elijah Wood, Creative Director, SpectreVision. “We jumped at the chance of working in VR with Ubisoft and we believe we have a beautiful and haunting game that will really resonate with players, even after they’ve taken off their headset.”

“The opportunity to work with SpectreVision to create a game with rich characters and an intimate yet multi-branching narrative was impossible to pass up,” said Caroline Martin, Executive Director, FunHouse, Ubisoft Montreal. “Transference gave us the unique opportunity to create an incredibly immersive game with full interactivity, touch controls and an engrossing narrative that players will unravel. We strive to push the boundaries of VR games and can’t wait for players to get hands on with Transference.”
