Today, 2K is sharing details of their partnership with SpringHill Entertainment – the award-winning content company created by LeBron James and Maverick Carter –  which includes the production and creative control of NBA 2K20’s MyCAREER cinematic narrative: “When The Lights Are Brightest.” Known for such productions as What’s My Name: Muhammad Ali, More Than a Game and The Wall, SpringHill Entertainment collaborated with the Visual Concepts team to write, direct, and cast this year’s storyline for the fan-favourite video game mode.

“The story of ‘When The Lights Are Brightest’ in NBA 2K20 reflects the story of today’s modern athletes,” said Maverick Carter, CEO of SpringHill Entertainment and athlete empowerment company UNINTERRUPTED. “From dealing with the pressures of fame, demands on and off the court, and outside influences, athletes face a tremendous amount of obstacles. SpringHill Entertainment exists to tell compelling stories and in this case, we were able to draw on our own experiences with LeBron and other athletes to create a narrative that’s authentic and a bit of a peek behind the curtain. Fans of NBA 2K20 are going to be amazed at the level of detail we were able to get to in this film.”

With SpringHill Entertainment’s focus on delving deeper into the personal story of the main character, players of this year’s MyCAREER mode will experience an even more authentic and emotive story.

This year’s narrative features the storyline of an NBA prospect named Che on his quest for gold both on and off the court, covering the importance of mentors, dealing with off-court pressures and current social issues. In this game setting, the path to stardom is firmly in the gamers hands.

The cinematic narrative was directed by up-and-coming visionary Sheldon Candis, and features a star-studded cast including Idris Elba, Rosario Dawson, and NBA all-stars past and present. This is the most visually stunning MyCAREER cinematic experience to date and brings the journey to life in a completely new and immersive way.

Sydney, Australia — August 20, 2019 — Today, during the Inside Xbox livestream at Gamescom 2019, Ubisoft unveiled Ghost War, the PvP mode for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Breakpoint, the latest instalment in the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® franchise. Ghost War will be available for all players at launch on October 4, and will receive regular content updates after launch. Players who want to try Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, including Ghost War, can sign for the Beta taking place September 5 to 8 on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X and Windows PC. Players who pre-order any edition of the game will gain access to the Beta.*

Ghost War is an intense 4v4 experience built on the tactical squad play from the Ghost Recon series, where strategy and teamwork are just as important as skill. At launch, players will be able to choose from four classes: Assault, Panther, Sharpshooter and Medic, each fulfilling specific roles on the battlefield as they engage with enemies in open environments across six unique maps. New features, such as cover mechanics adapted from the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s campaign, such as the new cover mechanics, the impact of the terrain and the new injury system will bring additional depth to the experience.

Two distinct modes will be available at launch:

  • Elimination is an intense team death match mode in which players need to hunt down and eliminate the enemy team, where the new shrinking combat zone mechanics force players to jump into the heat of the fight!
  • Sabotage is an asymmetrical bomb mode, where attackers have to plant and successfully detonate a bomb at either of the Bomb Sites, while defenders try to stop them.

For the first time, Ghost War is seamlessly integrated within the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint experience. With the new shared progression system, each player will progress in PvE and PvP with the same character and keep their unlocked classes, skills, customization items and weapons across both modes. Specific tuning will be implemented for PvP to ensure a fair and skill-based experience for all players.

Ghost War benefits from development team’s learnings from over two years of support on Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands’ PvP, The team introduced several improvements based on player feedback, such as improved detection mechanics and removed class restrictions per team. In Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Ghost War will also have dedicated servers, reduced loading screens and improved matchmaking.

Additionally, Ghost War will receive massive post-launch support. In addition to regular balancing updates and improvements, the development team plans to bring new maps, new classes, new weapons and even new modes and events will be added in the future to enrich and refresh the experience over time.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint will be available October 4 on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X and Windows PC, and UPLAY+, Ubisoft’s subscription service. SANTA CLARA, Calif., – (August 19th, 2019) – Leading interactive entertainment media publisher and developer BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc., today invites players to return to the disturbing and suspense-filled world of Little Nightmares in the next installment in the much-acclaimed franchise with, Little Nightmares® II.

Produced in partnership with Tarsier Studios, Little Nightmares II follows the story of Mono, a young boy trapped in a world distorted by the humming transmission of a distant Signal Tower. With Six, the girl in a yellow raincoat, together they set out to discover the grim secrets of the world whilst fleeing from the monstrous residents out to capture them.

In Little Nightmares II, players will control Mono, with Six – the protagonist from the first game – acting as their computer-controlled companion. The relationship between the two children will play a huge role within the game’s story and unveil new gameplay mechanics as the children must work together to traverse through the world.

At certain points in the game, Mono will also be able to wield a range of items picked up from the environment – a new mechanic added to Little Nightmares II that adds an extra layer of challenge to the game’s puzzles and encounters with enemies. There will be times when stealth remains the best option, sneaking past towering enemies, and times when players must think quickly to save themselves, as well as their companion Six.

In addition to new gameplay mechanics, players will also venture outside of The Maw (the setting of the first Little Nightmares game), exploring new environments including a dark wilderness and facing new enemies, such as the sadistic Teacher.

Little Nightmares II will launch in the Americas for the PlayStation®4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PCs (Digital) in 2020. The Little Nightmares franchise includes Little Nightmares, Little Nightmares II and the mobile game, Very Little Nightmares, available now for iOS.

CD PROJEKT RED announces that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition for Nintendo Switch will launch digitally and in retail on October 15th, 2019.

In addition to the new trailer, the studio has also released a gameplay overview video, offering an extended look at the Nintendo Switch version of The Witcher 3. Playing the game are CD PROJEKT RED’s Community Manager Paweł Burza and Paweł Sasko, Senior Quest Designer on Wild Hunt and Lead Quest Designer on the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions.

ROCKFISH Games announced its new open world space shooter EVERSPACE™ 2 for PC and consoles at gamescom: Opening Night Live. A Kickstarter campaign for additional funding will start on September 09, 2019.

Hamburg, Germany – August 19, 2019 – After ROCKFISH Games landed a surprise hit on PC and consoles with its studio debut EVERSPACE™, the independent developer from Hamburg has announced the official successor EVERSPACE™ 2at gamescom: Opening Night Live. In contrast to the roguelike concept of its predecessor, EVERSPACE™ 2is an open world space shooter with classic RPG elements and persistent player progression, as well as many more player ships and significantly enhanced storytelling. EVERSPACE™ 2has a planned Steam Early Access release in late 2020 with the full version arriving on PC, PlayStation® 4 and Xbox One at the end of 2021.

STOCKHOLM Aug. 19, 2019 — Indie studio Lionbite Games has revealed that the story-driven adventure game Rain of Reflections will launch on Windows PC via Steam on Sept. 20, 2019. Delve into a richly layered dystopian world, survive nail-biting turn-based strategy encounters, hack systems to open new ways forward, meet a cast of strong-willed characters and make decisions that will shape the future.

Rain of Reflections: Chapter 1 – titled “Set Free” – follows Wilona, a scientist trying to cure a global epidemic of infertility. When Wilona begins to have doubts about the morality of the experiments she’s running on the world’s lastborn child, she sets off a life-or-death quest across the pristine towers of the wealthy elite, the flooded slums of the underclass, and the cold, sterile halls of the state’s laboratories.

Throughout your journey, you’ll engage in turn-based strategy encounters in destructible environments with a range of tactical options, including stealth, dialogue and combat. You’ll also breach computer systems, crack locks and eavesdrop on radio communications through a variety of hacking puzzles.

Your words matter, too. Dialogue choices can convince, defuse or outsmart other characters in a variety of fully voiced conversations, which may have serious consequences down the road. They can also influence the motivation of your allies and enemies in combat, helping to change the tide of battle at a critical moment.

Rain of Reflections’ ambitious story will feature multiple chapters, each a full tale in itself, adding layers to the world while showing completely new and fresh areas and gameplay through different perspectives. Chapter 2 – “Open Eye” – will follow a deadbeat private investigator in a cyberpunk district called The Cluster, while Chapter 3 – “Undercurrent” – will shed light on the Infrared underground resistance movement and its front figure, Imra.

Meet Your Party in GreedFall’s New Companions Trailer!

Spiders Studio’s upcoming RPG GreedFall will let you forge your destiny on uncharted lands when it arrives next month, but this is one voyage you won’t be making alone. Today’s new Companions Trailer from Spiders and Focus Home Interactive shines a light on the unique party members that will join you on your adventure, your relationships with them, and the different stories they have to tell.

How you deal with new situations as an explorer and diplomat will define your hero’s story, and the company you choose to keep plays a big part in that. Each of the companions you meet belongs to one of GreedFall’s many factions or guilds, and these organizations all have their own ambitions and prejudices, so think through your actions carefully.

Beyond the influence of their faction’s goals, each companion has their own personal quests, too. Ignore them for too long, and they may choose to leave you. Help them, and you could have an ally – or lover – for life. Your companions will notice what you say and do, so consider their reactions before committing to a decision.

Be mindful when picking which two companions to bring with you, as well: each has their own special skills to offer. If you suspect a challenging fight ahead, for example, consider taking Coin Guard mercenary Kurt, who can be kitted out as a tough front-line warrior. But be careful when negotiating with a faction one of your companions is antagonistic against — your choices will shape not only the world of GreedFall, but also the lives of those in it.
