Blowfish Studios Unveil Isometric Stealth Game,
Winter Ember
SYDNEY – 11 Oct. 2019 – Sydney-based publisher Blowfish Studiosis proud to revealWinter Ember, a new isometric stealth game from Sky Machine Studios, ahead of its debut at L.A. Comic Con this
weekend.
Set in a Victorian-esque world, Winter Ember follows the story of Arthur Artorias, a faceless man in pursuit of answers and revenge. Returning after a near-decade of exile to the city of Anargal, where he was stripped of his family, fortune, and past, Artorias clashes with Greater Heaven, a tyrannical religious militant faction that has seized control of the town in his absence. To survive his homecoming, Artorias must rely on his wits and use the darkness to his advantage.
Infiltrate and explore
vast Gothic sandboxes brimming with treasure and mysteries to uncover. Move
quickly and quietly through the shadows while surveilling the environment,
peering around corners and through keyholes in search of lurking enemies and
hidden passageways. In Winter Ember, there are multiple paths forward
and solutions to every problem. Stalkers are rewarded for studying their
surroundings and identifying less obvious modes of entry or egress.
Even when backed into a
corner and seemingly forced to use a weapon, Artorias can evade combat by
crafting one of more than 30 specialty arrows to escape the situation. Water
missiles, for example, can douse flames and create dark new hiding spots in
which to disappear.
“Sky Machine has crafted
an immersive stealth game that makes wonderful use of lighting, verticality,
and a deep toolset to allow players to sneak around however they see fit,” said
Ben Lee, co-founder, Blowfish Studios. “We look forward to showing more of Winter
Ember soon.”

First Main Mission – Pentagon: Agents will discover the location of the

Lights, Camera, MURDER! Hollywood Whodunnit Murder By Numbers Coming to PC & Switch in 2020
From the
mischievous minds behind Hatoful Boyfriend, Swords of Ditto & Phoenix
Wright: Ace Attorney
LONDON,
October 9th, 2019 – Multi-talented,
multi-limbed multifarious developer Mediatonic & irresistibly irreverent
publisher The Irregular Corporation today announce that Murder By Numbers
– quite possibly the only 90s-themed Hollywood detective game you’ll ever need
– is coming to Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam) in 2020.
Devised by game
director Ed Fear (The Swords of Ditto, Heavenstrike Rivals), Murder
By Numbers is a retro-inspired visual novel, injected with a colourful cast
designed by the incomparable imagination of Hato Moa (Hatoful Boyfriend)
and music by the legendary Masakazu Sugimori (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney,
Viewtiful Joe, Ghost Trick).
Los Angeles,
1996. Honor Mizrahi was just an actress on a hit TV detective show. But when
her boss ends up dead just minutes after he fires her, she finds herself
starring in her own murder mystery. Teaming up with SCOUT, a reconnaissance
robot thrown away after a mysterious incident, she sets out to clear her name –
and a new detective duo is born.
Investigate a
range of cases and unearth clues with SCOUT’s sensors, cracking hidden
nonograms and piecing together proof one pixel at a time. Use that evidence to
interrogate weird and wonderful characters across TV studios, glitzy award
shows, drag clubs, and more as you seek to uncover an overarching story of
conspiracy, deception and – of course – MURDER!
For postulant

Ghoul Britannia Begins the Brexit Zombie
Apocalypse in Early Access Today
PERTH, WA. – Oct. 9,
2019 – Ghoul Britannia: Land of Hope and Gorey, a
point-and-click adventure where Brexit triggers the zombie apocalypse, shambles
to Steam Early Access today on Windows PC and Mac. The Early Access release
contains the first five chapters of this undead satire, with the final five
chapters to follow in early 2020 alongside the 1.0 release.
Developed by Binary Space and written by Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars and Johannes Cabal author Jonathan L. Howard, Ghoul Britannia follows the story of Hope Andrews, a young woman separated from her family when the isolationist government’s dangerous plan to revive its failing economy goes awry.
To bolster a workforce
left badly depleted by a disastrous departure from the European Union,
Brexiteers come up with an ingenious plan to exploit the dead and invite
families to sell their deceased loved ones into state servitude. Reanimated as
“Extended Labor Units” (ELUs) and tasked with menial labor, the dead take on
jobs most Britons find undesirable.
Naturally, it all goes
horribly wrong. The device controlling the ELUs fails, causing a nationwide
plague of the undead. Society quickly crumbles and forces those left alive to
struggle for survival. But not all ELUs are mindless killers. On Hope’s journey
home to reunite with her family, she happens upon Dave Gorey, a former ELU
spokesperson turned sentient zombie, who offers help in Hope’s quest as he
tries to discover how the theoretically impossible disaster occurred.
What unfolds is a
bloodcurdling tale of friendship and discovery infected with black humor and
political commentary wrapped up in a classic point-and-click adventure
experience.
“Ghoul Britannia
employs a fantastical situation and our team’s dark sense of humor to reflect
on the times we’re living in,” said Saxon Druce, founder, Binary Space. “We’re
excited to share the game’s first act and see how our audience’s feedback
shapes the full experience.”
Ghoul Britannia: Land of
Hope and Gorey is now available for
$14.99 on Windows PC and Mac via Steam Early Access with English language text support. For
more information, please visit the official website and join the community on Twitter and Facebook.

Australia– October 9, 2019 – 2K
has officially confirmed details for NBA 2K20’s MyTEAM Unlimited
$250,000 Tournament. The 2nd year global competition is played using
the MyTEAM Unlimited mode on Xbox One or PlayStation 4, with contestants
choosing any 13 player cards from their deck and competing in 5-on-5,
head-to-head games with NBA rules. Qualifying is ongoing until January, when 16
qualifiers per console will compete in a single elimination tournament for a
trip to NBA All-Star 2020 and the $250,000 grand prize.
The winner of
last season’s NBA 2K19 tournament, Xbox One champion Dymaris
Jones (SkippTooMyLou) from Detroit, defeated PS4 champion and current NBA 2K
League player Christopher Anderson (TurnUpDefense) from Las Vegas to win the
grand prize during NBA All-Star 2019 in Charlotte. More than one million
players took part in last year’s inaugural tournament, which saw more than 15
million qualifying games played over the five-month contest.
Similar
to last season’s tournament, Xbox One and PS4 contestants will play games in
MyTEAM Unlimited mode to earn entry into Qualifier GameDays. Ten Unlimited wins
are required to participate in each GameDay, and contestants may compete in
multiple GameDays. During each GameDay, contestants will then compete to win as
many games as possible during the four-hour time limit, earning points towards
their Total Score with each win. The contestants with the top four scores on
each console at the end of each GameDay will qualify for the single elimination
tournament.
The dates of
the four Qualifier GameDays are as follows:
First Qualifier
GameDay: October 12, 2019
Second Qualifier
GameDay: November 16, 2019
Third Qualifier
GameDay: December 14, 2019
Fourth Qualifier
GameDay: January 18, 2020
The single
elimination tournament begins January 25, with 32 qualifiers playing until only
one contestant remains on each console. Both console champions will win a trip
to NBA All-Star 2020 in Chicago, where they’ll attend NBA All-Star events and
play a head-to-head, best-of-three series on Xbox One for the $250,000 grand
prize.
