Robert Kirkman’s Thief of Thieves: Season One announced for Nintendo Switch

Based off Kirkman’s comic book thriller, the game sneaks its way onto Switch November 12th

Los Angeles, October 23, 2019 – Rival Games, the critically acclaimed developer behind Alien: Blackout, and multiplatform entertainment company Skybound Entertainment are happy to announce that Thief of Thieves: Season One arrives on the eShop for Nintendo Switch on November 12th for $19.99 / £17.99 / €19.99. Thief of Thieves: Season One lets users play as burglar Celia using stealth, social engineering and assistance from your team to pull off some high profile heists across the world. Originally divided into four volumes and released separately on Steam and Xbox One, the entire anthology will be available at launch.

Based on the award winning comic book series by Robert Kirkman, Thief of Thieves: Season One tells the story of Celia, the protege of master thief Conrad “Redmond” Paulson, as she joins a new team of criminals and advances from apprentice to master. For every heist you must plan with your team, sneak your way in, react to any obstacles you face, and escape using stealth and cunning – after all, violence is what separates thieves from thugs. Get to know your team and choose your approach on the field. But be careful: the choices you make shape the narrative and may have drastic consequences.

Thief of Thieves: Season One is developed by the Finnish independent studio Rival Games in partnership with Skybound Entertainment. The story transitions between comic frames and gameplay, as Celia makes her way through scenes ranging from cocktail parties to construction yards by using her skills in social engineering and stealth. The unique visual style of 2D hand drawn comics and 3D environments combine into one seamlessly flowing story experience. Shawn Martinbrough, the artist behind the Thief of Thieves: Season One comic, provided concepts behind many of the new living breathing characters brought to life by such voice actors like Fryda Wolff (Mass Effect: Andromeda), Stephen Stanton (Rogue One), Emily O’Brien (Death Stranding), Cissy Jones (Firewatch, The Walking Dead: Season 1), Fred Tatasciore (Kung-Fu Panda 2), and Elias Toufexis (Deus Ex: Human Revolution).

New A Year Of Rain Developer Diary Reveals Story Design of Daedalic Entertainment’s Upcoming Team RTS

The first in a new series of dev diaries goes behind the scenes with Narrative Designer Benjamin Kuhn and Art Director Michael Teske.

HAMBURG, Germany — Oct. 22, 2019: Daedalic Entertainment has published the first in a new series of developer diaries about its upcoming team-based real-time strategy game, A Year Of Rain. Narrative Designer Benjamin Kuhn and Art Director Michael Teske discuss the narrative freedom the fantasy genre allows them, the ways in which two-player co-op can shape storytelling, and how each faction plays a unique part in the game’s rich world.

This dev diary also introduces for the first time A Year Of Rain’s third playable faction — the Wild Banners. As the name suggests, this faction is an amalgam of reclusive nomads, tribes, and monstrous humanoids. They are fierce survivalists ready to fight for every scrap of this harsh world.

The heroes leading the Wild Banner armies are every bit as diverse as the faction itself. The Gnoll Chieftain boosts and heals his allies while unleashing a barrage of arrows on his foes. The stealthy and mobile hellspawn Shadowdancer is extremely lethal against single enemies. And the fungal creature known as The Myconid controls the battlefield with spores and minions while supporting allies with symbiotic boosts.

Registration for the fourth edition of the esports tournament is now open, with 12 markets competing to win the title of Asia Pacific’s greatest gaming champion

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA– October 23, 2019 – Lenovo the world’s leading PC and smart device manufacturer, has opened the qualifying round of its Legion of Champions Series IV (LoC IV). In partnership with Intel, Lenovo’s flagship Asia Pacific esports competition, now in its fourth series, will see its biggest edition yet. Gamers from 12 markets in the region, for the first time including Australia and New Zealand, will battle it out at this year’s LoC. The competition will see the introduction of two new crowd favourite games: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO). As with previous editions, finalist teams for LoC IV will face-off in an intense international Grand Finals showdown, which will be held at Pantip Mall in Bangkok, from 12 – 14 December 2019. Registration ends on 14 November, 2019.

In addition, this year’s LoC is also calling for the best female gamers in the region to compete in the Legion of Valkyries (LoV), LoC’s first ever all-female tournament, where female gamers will be battling it out in the gaming arena playing CS:GO. The LoV has been developed to create additional opportunities for female gaming enthusiasts, both experienced and amateur, to showcase their talent.

Both LoC and LoV qualifiers will take place on the Rise of Legion platform – Lenovo’s flagship online esports league – offering teams a chance to compete with other enthusiasts around the world between 15 – 17 November, 2019. HOBART, AUSTRALIA – Oct. 22, 2019 – Cracked Crusaders, the fast-paced dungeon-crawling platformer from developer Webbysoft, begins its quest on Nov. 5 for iOS and Android.

The shepherd Milton, his loyal sheep-dog Holly, and duck friend Dory take up arms when evil critters invade Lachy Valley and abduct their beloved flock of sheep. Fortunately, the wizard Lumbario assists the trio, guiding their adventure to Limsburg, where they will delve into dangerous dungeons to defeat the evil forces.

Starting with a simple sword, Milton and company venture into more than 100 levels teeming with fearsome foes and perilous hazards across five different worlds. Collect the map to uncover all the secrets in each level, then find and slay the dungeon master! Complete levels quickly enough and defeat all enemies to earn stars to buy new weapons and upgrades.

No matter your preference, the blacksmith offers something suited for everyone’s tastes, selling weapons with different attack speeds, properties such as jump damage, and elemental effects improving strength in some worlds. Meanwhile, additional equipment such as double-jump boots help navigate, and health upgrades keep our champions in the heat of battle.

Cracked Crusaders’ heroes will need every advantage they can get; the dozen bosses run the gamut of nimble foes to seemingly-invincible screen-filling monstrosities with specific weak points. Each conquered boss puts the trio one step closer to finding their sheep and discovering who was behind the heinous heist.  

Comic-style panes flesh out the humorous narrative sequences, with a bonus ending for those who get all 300 stars in the 10-plus hour campaign, while a pumping house soundtrack compliments the exhilarating gameplay.
