Darksiders: Genesis Trailer Introduces Abilities

A new trailer for Darksiders: Genesis has been released by developer Airship Syndicate and publisher THQ Nordic and this one focuses on the “Creature Core” system that allows players to upgrade and customize their battle skills. Both Strife and War will start with a variety of different moves in their arsenal they will gain more skills throughout the game as they obtain cores dropped from enemies and bosses and even from Vulgrim’s Store at the cost of souls.

The trailer can be found below while Darksiders: Genesis itself is set to be released on PC and the Google Stadia on December 5th with the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch releases occurring on February 14, 2020.

Detroit: Become Human Releasing on PC December 12

Back in May Quantic Dream announced that they would be bringing Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human to PC sometime this year and while the former two have since been released Detroit: Become Human has still avoided an exact release date. Well that has now changed as the developer has announced that the game will be launching on PC through the Epic Games Store on December 12th where it will be available for $39.99.

Originally released on the PlayStation 4 back in May 2018 Detroit: Become Human is set in the year 2038 and human like androids are everywhere. They speak, move and behave like human beings, but they are only machines serving humans. Players will control three separate androids and see a country on the brink of collapse where their choices can decide who lives and who dies.

Led by Javelin Venture Partners, new investors include Avon Ventures, Alumni Ventures, and Hashed as well as participation from current investors Galaxy Digital via its Galaxy EOS VC Fund and Struck Capital. Mythical Games raised $16 Million last year in Seed and Series A rounds, bringing total funding to $35 Million to date. Mythical is embracing a future in which gaming entertainment’s foundation is built on intimate ties between players, influencers and content creators, brands and game developers. The team is providing a platform for game developers to create player-owned economies and producing new tools to provide ownership of in-game assets for content creators and brands to build and customize.

Alongside its latest investment, Mythical has bolstered its leadership team with four significant hires in Jeff Poffenbarger, Pete Hawley, Nicole Yang, and Greg Deutsch. Jeff Poffenbarger joins as Chief Operating Officer and oversees the running of the company’s day-to-day operations. Most recently he was a Studio Head at Oculus VR with extensive experience as a Senior Executive Producer at Activision and Activision Blizzard leading multiple game launches for the Skylanders, Tony Hawk, and Marvel franchises. Pete Hawley joins as Chief Product Officer in which he will helm the studio’s slate of game and product development and the adoption of the Mythical platform to other game studios and publishers. His expansive games industry background includes roles as SVP of Games at Zynga, Co-Founder/CPO of Red Robot Labs, VP of Product Development at Electronic Arts, and Executive Producer at Lionhead Studios and Criterion heading Burnout Paradise. Nicole Yang joins as Vice President of Marketing to spearhead go-to-market strategy and audience development. Most recently VP of Marketing at Telltale Games and Product Marketing at Zynga, she was an early employee at multiple startups acquired by Activision, Perion Network, and Machine Zone and is an advisor at Humen AI. Greg Deutsch joins as Mythical’s General Counsel and was formerly General Counsel and SVP, Business & Legal Affairs at Activision for many years. Following Activision, he served as General Counsel and advisor for early to growth stage startups in emerging categories including acquisitions by Apple, Facebook, FanDuel, Opera Software, Sony Interactive and Unity Technologies.

Rounding off the investment and hiring, Mythical shared that it has also strengthened its board of directors with the addition of Alex Gurevich (Javelin Venture Partners) and independent board member Rehito Hatoyama (formerly Global COO of Sanrio, Hello Kitty) who join existing board members Sam Englebardt of Galaxy Digital, John Linden, and Jamie Jackson. Rehito’s addition is significant as the studio’s expansion has focused on growing its business to involve global brand partners and influencers in the consumer goods, sports, music and technology space.

New Guilty Gear Finally Titled Guilty Gear: Strive

After beating around the bush for months Arc System Works has announced that the new Guilty Gear game will officially be called Guilty Gear: Strive and that the company is aiming to have it released on the PlayStation 4 late in 2020. To go along with this announcement the company revealed a brand new trailer at the ArcRevo World Tour Finals and, if you keep an eye out, you’ll notice that Faust will likely be returning as a playable character.

The video can be found below and if Faust joins the roster, he will be fighting alongside the previously announced characters of Sol Badguy, Ky Kiske, May, Axl Low, Chipp Zanuff, and Potemkin.

Street Fighter V: Champion Edition Announced

Capcom has announced that they are going to be offering another new version of Street Fighter V called Street Fighter V: Champion Edition should players choose to upgrade to it. The new version is called Street Fighter V: Champion Edition and has been released on the PlayStation 4 and PC digitally where it is available as a “Upgrade Kit” for the original game for $24.99 though a retail edition will be releasing on February 14, 2020 for $29.99. This version of the game will include all content from the previous game and its “Arcade Edition” release including Gill who will be released in December alongside another yet to be announced character.

The pack will exclude the Fighting Chance” costumes, brand collaboration costumes, and Capcom Pro Tour downloadable content. As a whole this version of the game will offer 40 total playable characters with thirty four stages and over two hundred costumes for the fighters when it is released though it is worth noting that every character, stage, and costume will be available in the core game as well for those who don’t feel like upgrading, but will need to still be purchased separately.

In this intense action game based on the worldwide anime phenomenon ‘Attack on Titan’, players will be able to equip their Omni-Directional Mobility gear and join the fight against the devastating Titans wherever they are across a range of devices.

In Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle players can experience the captivating narrative of ‘Attack on Titan’ through the eyes of their own Custom Scout in Seasons 1 and 2 gameplay, and through the eyes of key characters in the series during Season 3’s epic storyline. Outside of the game’s story, aspiring commanders can take on Territory Recovery mode allowing them to create their own dream team, using any of the over 40 playable characters on the roster to venture outside of the walls and fight to reclaim land for humanity.

ESPOO, Finland Nov. 19, 2019 – Rovio Entertainment continues to count down to the official 10th anniversary of Angry Birds on Dec. 11, 2019, with its #BringTheAnger campaign, which aims to show how anger can be converted into positive action. Now, hot off the wheels of the world’s first anger-powered scooter –  the Rage Rider – Rovio is ready to unveil its next showstopper: the Angry Birds Venting Machine!

Accepting anger as its payment method, the Venting Machine offers special prizes for anyone willing to give it a good bash, shout or shake. To get the most out of this furious invention, Rovio is debuting the Venting Machine in one of the world’s most infamously agitating destinations: New York City’s Times Square!
