Cyberpunk Mystery Read Only Memories Comic Issue #1 Out Now

SAN FRANCISCO – 19 Dec. 2019 – Narrative adventure 2064: Read Only Memories, which has been downloaded by more than 1 million gamers, expands to print today as issue #1 of the Read Only Memories (ROM) comic becomes available online and in brick and mortar stores.

The four part series comes from a joint venture between game developer MidBoss and IDW Publishing, whose licensed adaptations include Sonic the Hedgehog, Transformers, Star Trek, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Star Wars. The latest addition to the ROM universe promotes intersectional themes of diversity, social issues and technology ahead of the upcoming cyberpunk adventure, ROM: NEURODIVER.

Following the events of 2064, Lexi Rivers quit the Neo-San Francisco police department and has settled into an action-packed life as a private investigator. The effects of AI sentience have rippled across the globe and through the beach town of Santa Cruz. When a robot hires Lexi to look for their missing human lover, a simple job turns deadly as she mixes with the mega-rich who live on high and the gangs of sentient and angry AI running amok below.

The futuristic mystery combines the talents of writer Sina Grace, whose work includes Marvel’s Uncanny X-Men and Iceman as well as Boom! Studios’ Go Go Power Rangers, and Stefano Simeone’s colorful art style previously seen in AfterShock Comics’ Shoplifters Will Be Liquidated and works in franchises including Disney’s Star Wars and more from Dark Horse and Boom! Studios.

The award-winning title, which has sold more than $1 billion in sell-through worldwide, has surpassed 500 million multiplayer hours played since release with nearly 300 million multiplayer matches. Upon release, the title featured a series of firsts for Call of Duty, including crossplay and cross-progression support, as well as the removal of Season Pass and delivery of new post-release content coming free to all players on all platforms.

  • New, multiplayer game mode

The Season One Battle Pass can be purchased for 1,000 COD points or players can upgrade to the Battle Pass Bundle which includes 20 Tier Skips. Sydney, Australia – December 18, 2019 – 2K and UnitedMasters have announced the 10 winners of a global contest who will have their songs added to the NBA 2K20 in-game soundtrack.  Announced in July, the contest gave artists from around the world the chance to submit songs to UnitedMasters for the opportunity to be featured on the in-game soundtrack. This is the first-time users and fans of NBA 2K have been able to submit their own music to be included in an official soundtrack for the video game.

“2K is proud to be a leading music platform for established and up-and-coming artists,” said Alfie Brody, vice president of marketing for NBA 2K. “We strongly feel that music is integral to the NBA 2K experience and we are excited to offer our players a dynamically updated in-game soundtrack, which now includes these aspiring artists.”

The contest received over 10,000 song submissions from artists throughout the world. 2K and UnitedMasters narrowed the tracks down to a top-25 list with Steve Stoute, UnitedMasters Founder and CEO, and 10x NBA All-Star and 2x NBA Champion, Kevin Durant, selecting the 10 winners to be added to the game.

2K, together withGearbox Software, today announced that Borderlands 3 is now available on Google Stadia, providing a whole new way for fans to enjoy one of this year’s biggest blockbuster games. Stadia users in all 14 countries where Stadia is currently available can now find the game in Stadia’s digital storefront and start playing immediately upon purchase – no download necessary!

The Stadia version of Borderlands 3 can be played in 4K with the proper TV setup using the Stadia Controller and Google Chromecast Ultra. EA and Respawn Launch the Apex Legends Global Series – The First International Multi-tournament Esports Program for the Franchise

PC Players from Over 60 Countries Eligible to Compete in The Game Awards Best Multiplayer Game of 2019

Australia, 18 Dec – Today, Electronic Arts Inc., (NASDAQ: EA) and Respawn Entertainment announced the Apex Legends Global Series. The series is comprised of online and live events for PC players who will compete for a prize purse of more than $3 million. The Apex Legends Global Series will initially feature 12 global live events, either self-executed by EA and Respawn or produced by notable esports tournament organisers PGL and GLL. Online competition will be powered by Battlefy with registration for the first event opening in early January.

The Apex Legends Global Series is an inclusive, open ecosystem created to make stars of all players. Residents of one of the more than 60 eligible countries who meet minimum age, PC system requirements, and other eligibility requirements can compete.* The competitive journey for many will start with online competition, with competitors potentially advancing to live, regional Challenger Events and global Premier Events. Players will earn Apex Legends Global Series Points for their performances in online and certain live events and those atop the standings will be invited to the four Apex Legends Global Series Majors, the highest competitive live event tier.

Apex Legends is one of the most impactful launches in videogame history and it possesses immense esports potential,” said John Nelson, Apex Legends Competitive Gaming Commissioner. “Through close communication with our community, we’ve built an accessible Apex Legends ecosystem where any player can become a potential star while the world watches our unique, entertaining take on Battle Royale esports.”
The first three Majors will each feature 100 three-player squads from around the world. The fourth Major, the Apex Legends Global Series Championship, is the grand finale. Only the top 60 Apex Legends Global Series teams in the world will be invited to battle for $1 million in prizes and the title of Apex Legends Global Series World Champion.

All four Majors will feature the Apex Legends exclusive Match Point format, which debuted at the Apex Legends Preseason Invitational in September to positive reception. Match Point requires teams in the Finals to reach a points threshold through a combination of match placement and accumulated kills. Apex Legends is the only Battle Royale esport to feature this uniquely exciting end game mechanic.

The first Apex Legends Global Series competition is an Online Tournament taking place on January 25, 2020. Registration will open for the event in early January. Players can earn Apex Legends Global Series Points and an invitation to the first Major on March 13-15, 2020 held at Esports Stadium Arlington based on their Online Tournament performance. Many of the Apex Legends Global Series Online Tournaments will be produced from the newly built EA Broadcast Center at company headquarters. Developed by Respawn Entertainment, Apex Legends delivers a squad-based Battle Royale experience where players select from one of 11 Legends – each with their own unique abilities and playstyles – and the last team standing wins. Dear Villagers to Publish Re-imagining of Award-Winning Mod

MELBOURNE – 17 Dec. 2019 – The Forgotten City, the time-loop murder mystery and debut title from Modern Storyteller based on the critically acclaimed mod downloaded more than two million times, will emerge on Xbox One and PC in Winter 2020.

In ancient Rome, in a secret underground city, twenty-six lost souls live in fear of the mysterious Golden Rule: ‘The many shall suffer for the sins of the one.’ Haunted by these words, the people fall in line. For in this precarious utopia, a single sin by anyone will kill everyone.

Leap through time and relive the final moments of the city and its people in an endless loop. Gather intel and collect items of intrigue to navigate puzzles only time travel can solve. Developer Modern Storyteller will partner with publisher Dear Villagers to expand the scope of The Forgotten City and deliver the experience the studio has envisioned since the days of its award-winning mod. Collaborating with the label behind boldly ambitious titles like Edge of Eternity and Bury me, my Love will enable Modern Storyteller to craft entirely updated visuals, a new setting and story, professionally voice-acted characters, and a stirring original soundtrack.

Players Welcome a Brand-New Park Expansion with New Characters and Attractions Inspired by a Galaxy Far, Far Away

Paris, December 17th, 2019 – Gameloft, a leader in the mobile games industry, is thrilled to announce today the introduction of Star Wars characters and locations in Disney Magic Kingdoms, with  more coming in a brand new limited-time event celebrating the international release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, making it the biggest update to the game yet. In addition to a brand new park expansion, this update introduces some of the most iconic heroes and villains of the latest Star Wars trilogy and brings them to the Kingdom.

Starting today, players can welcome C3PO and R2-D2 to their park and populate the new Star Wars themed area inspired by famed destinations like Hoth, Endor, Jakku and more with new attractions, concessions, and decorations. Players can make their park more magical by adding attractions like the X-wing Simulator or the Resistance Speeder and by opening shops for their guests to purchase new items such as Lightsaber Stands and a Blue Milk Stand.

Additionally, the limited-time Star Wars event will take place from December 19th, 2019 through January 14th, 2020, allowing players to bring seven additional characters to their parks: Rey, Poe, Finn, BB-8, General Hux, a First Order Stormtrooper, and Kylo Ren. During this new event, players will complete quests to help the Resistance to fight Kylo Ren and the First Order.
