Venture into the bowels of the mountains and help the dwarves turn the tide in Warpzone Studio’s high-fantasy strategy debut.

Thursday, 28th May 2020 – Team17 and Warpzone Studios have today revealed the first information about their upcoming high-fantasy management and strategy game, Hammerting. In development for PC and scheduled for a Steam launch later this year, Hammerting features multi-faceted gameplay mechanics, combining crafting and deep base building with combat and exploration as players manage a colony of industrious dwarves fighting to survive in the dangerous cavernous depths underneath the Mountains of Mara.

Players will be tasked with helping the colony as it strives to develop and craft new weapons to help aid their Overworld allies during an epic war against evil; during the course of Hammerting, they will face unique challenges, from goblin raids on their caverns to traversing the darkest corners for the most valuable ores to loot. A closer look at Hammerting is available to watch right now, with the launch of a new developer diary video series, Into The Forge.

Key Features

  • Dwarf management: As the colony increases in size, active management of the dwarves, including the friendships they make and their morale, will be key to helping the war effort
  • Base building: Bore and upgrade a variety of rooms, from forges and sculpting studios to taverns and auxiliary functions and help the colony craft the ultimate base
  • Crafting: Build and upgrade a wide variety of items through a deep leveling up system
  • Exploration: Venture into the bowels of the mountainside & face increasingly perilous situations
  • Combat: Different dwarves for different combat situations; harness weapons from swords to two-handed hammers to overcome goblin invaders

Control time in old school RPG The Revenant Prince is coming to PC this summer

With great time-bending power, comes great time-bending responsibility

Jakarta, Indonesia – May 28th, 2020 – Nomina Games has revealed that its upcoming retro RPG The Revenant Prince is coming to PC this summer. Embark on an epic time-spanning quest to save the world.

The Revenant Prince casts players as Troy, a prince who awakens after a near death experience with the ability to control time. Guided by a mysterious voice that may or may not have his best interests at heart, Troy embarks on an epic quest to fulfill his uncertain destiny. As Troy continues on his adventure he will come to meet all manner of colorful characters and come face to face with difficult decisions. How you treat people and what actions you take on this quest will dictate how the story plays out. With all outcomes being irreversible, every playthrough of The Revenant Prince will be a fresh, new experience.

Choices play a major role in The Revenant Prince, as players will encounter strange creatures and characters that they can fight or potentially befriend. Combatants will talk to you as you battle, offering options to de-escalate feuds into friendships with the right words. Do you want to be a brash bruiser, or a piquant peacemaker? You are a literal god in this peculiar land, and the world is what you make of it!

The Revenant Prince is both an homage to and an expansion of 90’s RPGS like Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger, and Secret of Mana, with their seemingly evocative worlds, colossal casts, and simple, elegant graphics that let players imagine the expansive world just out of view,” said Nomina Games founder and director Darrel Wijaya. “We wanted to capture this feeling of endless possibility, where you play a major, active role in how the story plays out. The Revenant Prince is a culmination of everything that made us fall in love with RPGs in the first place.”

Features

  • Single-player gameplay with potentially irreversible consequences.
  • Time-based battles with an arsenal of weapons and magic!
  • Interactions with a menagerie of enemies with a variety of interesting outcomes.
  • The ability to play god (literally) and toy with the lives of many!
  • A simple blend of pixelated and painterly art styles.

Fantastic Fantasy World of Elvenar Celebrates Fifth Anniversary

InnoGames, Germany’s leading developer and publisher of online and mobile games, celebrates the fifth anniversary of its fantasy city-builder Elvenar. The successful title has experienced steady growth since its launch in May 2015 and surpassed the EUR 100m revenue mark earlier this year, joining Forge of Empires, Grepolis and Tribal Wars in achieving this milestone. The top countries in terms of revenue are the United States, Germany and France. To celebrate the anniversary, players can look forward to a new mini event with a special award and daily bonuses. To date, players have spent more than 43,186 years’ worth of playtime in the game’s fantasy world and have built more than 21.8 million cities.

“Elvenar is the sixth game that we launched in our portfolio. Previous titles, such as Forge of Empires and Grepolis have a historical setting, while Elvenar is the first fantasy-based strategy game we have created. The fantasy world, complete with mystical creatures like elves, dragons and fairies, has appealed to a wide audience,” says Hendrik Klindworth, InnoGames Co-founder and CEO. “We appreciate the hard work and loyalty from our team over all these years and want to thank all our players around the world.”

Half of all players globally are female, with many players drawn to the fantasy and collaborative aspects of the game, taking advantage of the opportunity to play as Elves and to work with other players. As with other titles in InnoGames’ portfolio, the company updates Elvenar regularly to provide players with new content and ensure the title’s longevity.

“Our team works diligently to provide new features and events for players with ongoing content updates on a biweekly basis,” explain Nino Protic, Elvenar Product Manager. “When Elvenar was first launched, there were five chapters. Today, there are 16 chapters and approximately five years’ worth of content, including the most recent Guest Race: Embassies. We have plans for more exciting content, as well as new Guest Races, in the future.”

To celebrate the fifth anniversary, a new three-day challenge will be introduced and is set to begin June 1st. Players who complete the first set of requirements will be awarded the Unicorn Glade, a special building to celebrate the birthday. Additionally, there will be changing daily production bonuses in the game during the time in which the challenge is active.

Elvenar is the second of InnoGames’ titles to successfully undergo the transition from Flash to HTML5, after Forge of Empires. This process ensures the future of the game after Adobe discontinues support for Flash. This, coupled with available mobile versions for iOS and Android, enable players to continue to play anywhere, any time and from any device of their choosing as they construct their world. The most popular building built since launch is the Golden Abyss, one of the Ancient Wonders.

About Elvenar
Elvenar (www.elvenar.com) is a city-building Strategy-MMO set in a fantasy world. Tasked with creating a flourishing city, players can choose between Elves or Humans. This choice affects the appearance of the cities and their inhabitants, as well as the available technologies and units. The elves live in the midst of magical creatures in harmony with nature, while humans are ambitious builders and engineers. Between managing resources, leveling up buildings and unlocking new perks, players should also pay attention to the multiplayer-map if they want to find valuable relics. Yet, players might have to fight numerous fantastic creatures for them. Since its release in May 2015, Elvenar has been receiving continuous content updates, and as a cross-platform title, players can switch between browser, iOS and Android devices at any time.

About InnoGames
InnoGames is Germany’s leading developer and publisher of mobile and online games. The company based in Hamburg is best known for Forge of Empires, Elvenar and Tribal Wars. About BIG Festival and BIG Digital

Since 2012, the BIG Festival — which received over 20,000 visitors last year — has become the most important B2B gaming event in Latin America, where hundreds of innovative studios connect with global publishers and investors. BIG estimates that last year’s event generated $65 million (USD) in business, with more than 4,000 meetings between 630 industry professionals from 24 countries during the festival period.

BIG Festival is one of the agents responsible for showcasing Brazil as a game producing country. Before its emergence as a development locale in 2012, the country was seen by many as only a large consumer market for games.

Over the past eight years, the quality of Brazilian companies has increasingly surprised and delighted international players who, at each edition of BIG, come away impressed with the quality of what they find in Brazilian lands. This year, the digital edition of the event will allow studios from all states of Brazil to participate.

The Games Industry and Brazil

Brazil is now the 13th largest video game market in the world and second only to Mexico in Latin America. The $1.6 billion (USD) Brazilian games industry has nearly doubled in size since 2014, and the number of local gamers reached 75.7 million as of 2018, making Brazil the fourth-largest consumer market in the world. Half of both men and women in Brazil play mobile games, while roughly 40% of men and women play PC games, according to Newzoo. Purchase intent is healthy as well, as 83% of gamers in the region have made an in-game purchase within the past six months.

Lynch-Esque First-Person Mystery Shooter INDUSTRIA Announced for PC

Experience a Surreal Journey from 80s East Berlin
right into a Mystical Parallel Dimension!

MAY 28, 2020 — Headup is thrilled to announce the surreal mystery shooter INDUSTRIA for a release on PC in Q1 2021. Using Unreal Engine 4, the game is in development by Bleakmill, a small independent team located in Berlin and Glasgow.

Inspired by Source Engine classics like Half-Life 2 and Portal 2, INDUSTRIA is an atmospheric shooter that touches profound subjects concerning our past as well as our future. It questions our scientific responsibility, the nature of the universe’s inner workings as well as how far we should go with artificial intelligence and self-learning algorithms. With storytelling being a huge focus in INDUSTRIA and leaning on the work of David Lynch, the game is a surreal journey into a familiar dimension.

Berlin, 9th November 1989 – The streets are full of people. After four decades of division, thousands of cars are rolling across the inner-German border. The Wall is finally open! At the same time, a man by the name Walter seemingly disappears in a secret research facility near East Berlin. His goodbye message reaches you too late and you are forced to track him down.

The search for Walter takes you deep into the facility – right into its center where time seems to stand still. A dark secret lurks – well hidden – behind the curtain. In the end, horrible insights make you dive deeper and deeper into a strange, surreal yet familiar world.

All these themes merge into one story for Nora, a woman searching for her loved one and constantly being confronted with the result of Walter’s past actions. This results in intense fights against an artificial intelligence which, like a cancer on the human body, has infested the city with technological tumors linked together by a network of sprawling cables. Emotional and supernatural confrontations will give the players a glimpse into a world they are not supposed to fully grasp.

Features include:

  • Profound story: Experience a classic story-driven first-person shooter with about four hours of gameplay

About Bleakmill

Bleakmill consists of two individuals: David from Berlin, Germany; and Steve from Glasgow, UK. When we met in another indie team back in 2014, we quickly realized that we shared the same understanding of aesthetics and taste. As we both started our game dev journeys with modding the Source Engine for CS:S, HL2 and Portal, our love for Source games and their style was subconsciously emulated in our first project, the Mystery Shooter INDUSTRIA.

Every model (except a few exceptions) was custom built to maintain a unique art style and while the core team is two people, we do get help from a few extra hands. Luckily David’s friend and flatmate Lukas Zepf created a beautiful soundtrack and the game also features character animations by Ben Davis.

More information about the team and Industria can be found on our Twitter and Discord.

Outbuddies DX, A Love Letter to Metroidvania, is Coming Soon to Nintendo Switch and Xbox One!

Run, explore and blast through the undercity with trustworthy robot sidekick in this otherworldly Lovecraftian adventure

MAY 28, 2020 — Headup is delighted to announce that Outbuddies DX, a 2D side-scrolling adventure game in the spirit of the classic ‘Metroid’, is coming soon to Nintendo Switch and Xbox One with the PS4 version planned for later this year. Developed by Julian Laufer over the course of seven years, and first released on Steam and GOG in October 2019, OutbuddiesDX is a feature-packed otherworldly adventure with deadly enemies and an ever-trustworthy robot sidekick, Buddy.

Set deep in the Ocean and infested with hostile Lovecraftian creatures and lethal environmental hazards, players must dash, dodge, and blast through Bahlam, a danger-filled sunken fortress of the Old Gods. By deploying the Buddy unit to manipulate and scout the surroundings through hacking, scanning and telekinesis, the players will discover ancient weapon systems and gear upgrades to battle through a gigantic sunken labyrinth. Outbuddies’ local co-op mode allows a second player to control Buddy with an expanded tool set.

Outbuddies DX offers a nonlinear gear-based progression system for both combat and level-layouts. Selecting weapons from the four-tier upgradeable system, as well as split-second reflexes and memorisation of attack patterns are essential for players to stand a chance against an onslaught of unforgiving bosses and to escape Bahlam’s hostile maze. Outbuddies praised atmosphere is supported by OGRE’s thematic soundtrack written as an ode to the 16-bit Megadrive/Genesis era.

Based on the feedback from core-speedrunners and Metroid-enthusiasts since the game‘s PC release, Outbuddies DX now offers vastly improved visuals and a variety of new features added to the well-received original. For more information, tune into Guerrilla Collective’s online session with Headup at https://www.guerrillacollective.com/ and follow them on Twitter for more details.
