DIRT 5’s Career mode focuses on the highly successful ‘DIRT Series’ – a global racing event across various disciplines featuring the world’s greatest off-road racers. The player starts their fledgling career going up against an established field. The line-up includes superstar and fan favorite, Alex ‘AJ’ Janiček and Bruno Durand, a veteran who quickly becomes the game’s antagonist. Career Mode is divided into five chapters offering multiple paths allowing players to choose the events they wish to play. The higher the finish the more Stamps the player earns, which are needed to unlock the Main Event. The highly competitive final challenge is all that’s standing in the player’s way to proceed to the next chapter. Also sprinkled throughout Career Mode are one-off Throwdown challenges. Once unlocked, players face the ultimate one-on-one challenge against a fierce competitor from the world circuit.
“DIRT 5’s Career mode underpins the entire experience and delivers a deeply immersive playground with player choice very much at the heart of it,” said DIRT 5 Development Director at Codemasters, Robert Karp. “The addition of Troy, Nolan and Donut Media has created a living, breathing world and one where the player wants to belong and compete. Whether they can rise to the Main Event and Throwdown challenges remains to be seen.”
The world tour takes players across the globe from the US to China and beyond. With real-world global brands waiting to sign fresh talent there are plenty of in-game rewards on offer based on performance and reputation rank. DIRT 5’s Career Mode also allows for local “couch co-op” support for up to four players. This option is available for all multi-car challenges with additional drivers replacing Al-controlled vehicles. With the highest finishing position counting towards the player’s career, it’s a great way to boost Stamps and help players progress.

Wild West has always been a safe setting if you want to give you game a unique identity. Not many games from that era and it’s perfect for any kind of open-world RPG. There is even a famous one about redeeming, the redemption, or something, I don’t know. From what I do know, it gathered a plethora of awards (also money) so it’s just a matter of time until other developers follow through. Or is it? See, West of Dead is a bit different in that regard.
Story
You find yourself in Wyoming in the year of 1888. Location: Purgatory. Wait, what?! Yep, it is the underworld of Wild West. It is a place of gun smoke, darkness (quite a lot of darkness, to be fair), wendigos, witches, and murder. You play as William Mason trying to get yourself out of the purgatory through dark corridors and mines of the Wild West. Shoot, dodge, cover, and throw sticks of dynamite on your way to freedom. Or some light at the end of the tunnel.
Gameplay
At the core of it, West of Dead is a procedurally generated roguelike with some unique spices thrown into the pot. A top-down, twin-stick shooter where you have to think fast, count your bullets, and plan your every move. You will kill a lot, die a lot but there is almost endless variety in how you complete (or at least try to) every section. In the dark purgatory of Wild West, weapons, covers, and light are your only friend. You’ll have to learn how each weapon reacts and when is the best time to use it. Revolvers have no delay in aiming but they do have slow reload once you fire up all of your shots. Rifles have a slight delay when you aim at the enemy, but they also possess incredible accuracy and long-range. Shotguns are extremely powerful but they won’t do much unless you get really close to the enemy. Now let’s talk about the cover system. The cover is important here since shooting at the enemies in the open won’t get you far. You might survive 5 or 6 shots if you’re lucky and then it’s game over for you. Going from cover to cover is crucial since after every few shots from the enemy (or dynamite or two), that stone grave that’s been hiding you will break into pieces and you will have to find a new one. This mechanic forces you to think on your feet while also paying attention to the enemies. It is hectic, challenging, but also incredibly rewarding whenever you come victorious out of every battle. Another gimmick that you can use to your advantage is the lanterns that you might find occasionally in rooms. By running to them and lighting them up, the immediate flash will stun every enemy in the room. If you’re quick, you can make swiss cheese out of every enemy before they even figure out what happened.
Visuals
As it is obvious by now, West of Dead has a distinctive art style. The game marvelously uses the play of light and dark to its advantage and to amplify some game mechanics. Despite this being a procedurally generated game, the areas in the game are anything but generic. From the gloomy mine shafts to moldy swamps of hell, there is always some new upgrade or a weapon to discover, as well as some new ways to die. If you ever wanted to play as the Ghost Rider of Wild West, look no further!
Audio
Obviously, we can talk about the audio segment of the game without mentioning the marvelous work of Ron Perlman here. To be honest, I had zero clues that he was the voice actor here until I checked out the press release. What I can tell you for sure is that his work here elevates the atmosphere of the game way above expected. William Mason’s occasional remarks and ramblings as you move forward are the perfect backdrops to the setting of West of Dead. The gritty, raspy voice of our protagonist couldn’t be more menacing as you shoot your way to the freedom through the mystic purgatory.
Overall
While the game certainly won me over with its art, setting, and voice work, I can’t help but to talk about some things that most of the players will find anything but user-friendly. This being a roguelike, some things are given (and expected) but West of Dead is one of those games where you have to know what you’re getting ourselves into. The skill and practice as you play come from repetition, meaning prepare to die a lot. The tutorial is as basic as it gets, and you’re just thrown into the world of utter despair and danger while being forced to learn most of the stuff on the go. If you can get past that, you’ll find some rewarding content and enjoyment in the West of Dead.

Mobile in more ways than one, DoomCar is a surprisingly strategic take on dealing death to your fellow drivers. It’s the year 2057: driving licenses are defunct, road tax a thing of the past and, in terms of terrain, pot holes have now been replaced by pot luck. Don’t drive safely
YOOZOO Games, Shanghai | 18.06.20 — DoomCar is a strategy RPG wrapped in a distinctly dystopian world but this doesn’t mean you can’t have lots of fun. Collect and upgrade over 100 vehicles, source new equipment (or simply steal it) from all manner of NPC factions. Take your supercharged war chariots out on the open road and engage in the ultimate battle royale; with rogue-like modes making every road trip a new and maniacally dicey experience. You can tailor war chariot battle formations, individual driver skills, professions, affinities, and progression.
Create the ultimate team, take on all comers and become the despotic driver of your dreams. A rich variety of single player, cooperative, PvP, and clan vs clan modes will satisfy even the most competitive amongst you. While an advanced matchmaking system provides fair, competitive PvP environments for players of all skill levels and progression.
Post-Apocalyptic Setting
Conquer the open road in this unique idle strategy game that puts you in the driver’s seat of smoke-spewing hulls of twisted metal. See the remains of a destroyed earth, ride your metal monstrosities, and obliterate your enemies with brutally effective weapons.
Rogue-like Randomness
You can win in DoomCar without complicated operations and strategies. Your vehicles will fight for you while you rest. Explore forbidden zones with procedurally-generated levels and challenges and experience the doomsday war without getting your hands dirty.
Ultimate Strategy RPG
Collect and upgrade 100+ vehicles and equipment. Customise DoomCar’s battle formations and adapt skills, professions, affinities, and driver progression. Manage your team and become a consummate menace to competing survivalists.
Global Competition
Experience the best in single player, cooperative, PvP, and clan vs clan modes. Haunted Shores is the latest Sea of Thieves monthly update, coming June 17 free for all players across Xbox One, Windows 10, Xbox Game Pass and Steam.
An all-new enemy type, Ghost Ships, now appears in fleets to unleash spectral weapons and provide a true sailing challenge for players.
Encounter Ghost Ships led by Captain Flameheart’s very own Burning Blade flagship in an emergent event that continues his story, or as a new way for players to improve their standing with the Order of Souls.
Prepare for a supernatural encounter on the Sea of Thieves this month as that re-emerging tyrant, Captain Flameheart, makes a new bid for control of the waves! June’s free monthly update Haunted Shores is available today for all Sea of Thieves players across Xbox One, Windows 10 PC, Steam and with Xbox Game Pass, bringing with it an armada of spectral surprises.
Ghost Ships Rise to Seek Vengeance
We’re pleased to unleash a whole new type of encounter this month and look forward to seeing how well our players react and adapt. Captain Flameheart’s spirit, recently released from captivity, continues to grow in power and has now found a way to rally supernatural support from the Sea of the Damned! His Ghost Ships are the latest threat to reach these seas, and though their phantom forms may be easier to destroy than earthly ships, they’re fearsomely armed and sure to outnumber living pirates.
Crewed by lost souls, these swift fleets provide a twist on the usual challenges of ship combat as they attack with otherworldly weaponry and drop mines to catch the unwary. As danger lies in all directions and the ships themselves prove perilous to the touch, agility and crew communication will be just as important as combat skill!
Flameheart’s Flagship
The centrepiece of this update is an emergent event featuring Captain Flameheart’s own ship, the Burning Blade. With the arrival of Haunted Shores, Flameheart’s looming skull will now manifest over islands like the clouds that represent Skeleton Forts or Skeleton Ship battles. However, this particular sign means that the Burning Blade and an armada of Ghost Ships has appeared around an island, as if searching the Sea of Thieves for something…
These will prove to be tough encounters, with Flameheart’s floating skull not just acting as a beacon but giving orders to his ships and berating meddlesome pirates. The Phantom and Wraith Cannonballs fired by the Ghost Ships are as unnerving as they are powerful, but supplies can be claimed by players for their own use after defeating the Burning Blade. There are valuable Damned treasures to be looted too, plus unique sails to be unlocked by fearless pirates who send enough of these Ghost Ships back to the Sea of the Damned.
Expanding the Adventure
Ghost Ships won’t be fading away after this month’s big event – they’re a permanent addition to the game, providing a new way for pirates to gain gold and reputation with the Order of Souls alongside their usual Skeleton Bounties. Players can accept these Voyages right now from Order of Souls representatives or from Duke in the nearest tavern.
There’s even more to do this month thanks to a refresh of Daily Bounties and other events, all trackable via the Events Hub. Expect a new playlist of Bounties offering bonus gold and Doubloons for completing in-game tasks, plus special time-limited events such as The Hunter’s Call, that will boost rewards for deliveries of cooked meat from sharks and Megalodons, so if anyone falls overboard during a battle with the phantom fleets, they might consider pulling their weight in the shark-hunting stakes instead.
The shanty system also gets a boost in Haunted Shores as instrument-wielding pirates can now use the menus to jump straight to a favourite tune. Better yet, the range of shanties has grown with several new songs for you and your crew to belt out on deck, on shore or in the tavern, including fan favourites such as ‘Maiden Voyage’ and ‘We Shall Sail Together’!
Last but not least, the Pirate Emporium enjoys its usual monthly update, ushering in the appropriately undead-themed Blighted Ship Set for fans of State of Decay. You’ll also find some pets that have been transformed into living treasures by the Gold Curse, a range of new outfits for your furry or feathery sidekicks and even animal-themed pirate dance emotes for players who want to laugh in the face of Flameheart’s threats.
Enjoy exploring all these additions alongside this month’s hair-raising headline challenge – one that’s sure to create some surprises between players once they pick up some of those hard-hitting supernatural cannonballs!

To mark this milestone, Blitz is getting a fresh new look, more tanks, a special event and a time-limited game mode
Don your party hats as World of Tanks Blitz is turning 6 years old! To commemorate this milestone, Update 7.0 releases today, which features graphical improvements, new high-tier British light tanks and in-game festivities. And the birthday party will continue well into July when a brand-new game mode, Skirmish, will make its debut for a limited time only.
An ever-expanding game, World of Tanks Blitz is always striving for the best level of immersion possible. To achieve this, new graphical improvements are being introduced, such as gun recoil, dynamic shadows, vehicles leaving traces on the ground, different damage marks for each shell type and upgraded particle and waterline effects.
“With 137m downloads and over 27,000 different devices to support, it’s imperative that everyone can still enjoy the game after we make significant updates,” states Andrey Ryabovol, World of Tanks Blitz Product Director. “So, we added a graphical customisation menu. This way players are free to choose what is turned on or off, and it gives them a greater control over their Blitz experience. We hope all our players enjoy the birthday celebrations and good luck on the battlefield!”
Also, as part of Update 7.0, three new high-tier British tanks will be rolling out on the battlefield:
· FV 301, Tier VIII
· Vickers Cruiser, Tier IX
· Vickers Light 105, Tier X
The first top-tier light tanks to represent Her Majesty, these Brits will be researchable from the Tier VII medium, the Comet. These nimble scouts are pretty quick and when compared to other light tanks in the game, it’s their relatively good armour which sets them apart.
And finally, the big birthday bash kicks off with a special event where tankers will be tasked with hunting down a unique Tier VI tank, the P.43/06 Anniversario. Additionally, those who complete the event will be rewarded with a unique birthday player profile. The event will run from June 19th to June 29th. And there’s even more to come as players will soon get great goodies to celebrate their own anniversaries in World of Tanks Blitz!
The jewel in the crown of the festivities will be the launch of a brand-new time-limited game mode, Skirmish. Scheduled for release on July 9th, two teams of 5 will battle it out on smaller maps which are perfect for intense and dynamic confrontations. Players will need nerves of steel to be crowned victorious in this mode.
