REDNECK ED and FOR THE PEOPLE demos available in Steam Game Festival June 16th-22nd

Moscow, Russia – June 16th, 2020 – 101XP has released demos for two of its upcoming games as part of Steam Game Festival. Available from June 16th-22nd, these demos will give players a chance to go hands-on with Rustic Fantastic’s cosmic arcade-style beat ’em up Redneck Ed: Astro Monsters Show, and Brezg Studio’s totalitarian mayor sim For the People, both slated for Steam releases later this summer.

Here’s a bit more info about both of these games:

Redneck Ed: Astro Monsters Show is an arcade beat-’em-up set in an intergalactic game show. Forced to compete in gruesome challenges to reclaim his stolen face, Ed must endure this torturous reality show while also trying to take down the sinister forces behind this business we call show. Featuring hand-drawn art inspired by cartoonishly grotesque animation like Ren & Stimpy, Redneck Ed: Astro Monsters Show takes players through some of the weirdest and wildest worlds imaginable. As you battle through waves of bloodthirsty aliens, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the inner workings of the most sadistic game show in the universe.

While making their way through the game’s worlds, the player will end up working towards one of several possible endings, determined by the set of side quests they choose to complete. Ed’s really gonna have to get his hands dirty by completing various tasks for the local aliens. Well, at least the ones who do not immediately want to kill him, that is!

For the People is a politically charged strategy game putting players in the shoes of a recently elected mayor in the Soviet inspired  Commonwealth of Orange Collectives.

  • You’ll have to make challenging moral and political decisions regarding economic distribution
  • Decide on social policies that have consequences to your people.
  • Deciding between strengthening your political party, working towards the nation’s long term growth.
  • Experience the near impossible task of keeping your people happy.

Tactical RPG ‘The Way of Wrath’ Demo Released

Choose your own destiny in a story-driven turn-based RPG, coming to Steam Early Access in 2020

Tbilisi, Georgia — June 16th 2020 — Independent developer Animmal today announced that the story-rich tactical RPG, The Way of Wrath, has released a free beta demo as part of the Steam Game Festival. From today until June 22nd players can experience this unique medley of classic turn-based roleplaying, survival and base management in a world ridden with myths and dark rituals.

In an ancient world where gods, curses, and shaman powers reign over human lives, a gruesome decade-long war has come to a bitter end for the Thein faction. Fleeing in desperation for their lives, the Thein tribesmen return to the unforgiving Northern lands to lick their wounds. But their escape is cut short by the large enemy force on their tail. The only way to survive imminent death is to gather remaining allies, scavenge the bleak no-man’s land for supplies and rebuild defenses of an old fort to withstand the brutal enemy assault. Leading people is no easy task, as desperation, petty squabbles and superstitions follow these war-torn soldiers every step of the way.

The Way of Wrath was born out of our love for old-school RPGs. We took everything we admire about classic roleplaying games, including interactive story, tactical combat, a beautifully handcrafted world, and mixed in new elements like survival and fort management, creating our own unique take on the genre,” said Dato Kiknavelidze, co-founder of Animmal. “We are extremely excited to invite players into the derelict Northern lands of Thein during the beta to help us shape the game based on their feedback in preparation for the Steam Early Access launch later this year.”

Coming to Steam Early Access in 2020, The Way of Wrath is a narrative-driven tactical RPG featuring turn-based, dynamic combat, and a non-linear world where player’s decisions matter. Players journey a meticulously handcrafted landscape carrying out quests and interacting with NPCs, each having their own interactive storyline that is influenced by player choices. The grim world of The Way of Wrath presents an abundance of obstacles, including unrelenting environmental hazards, scarce supplies, and vicious enemies. Players not only have to unite a ragged group of warriors and rebuild a rundown fort before the enemy forces attack but also must maintain the morale of the troops, as in the face of adversity loyalty is hard to come by.

ROGUE LORDS DEBUTS AT THE 2020 PC GAMING SHOW

Lesquin, France, June 15, 2020 – NACON today revealed the first gameplay trailer for Rogue Lords, a new tactical rogue-like game co-developed by Cyanide and Leikir Studio, set in a murky and macabre 17th-century dystopia named The New World.

Rogue Lords casts players as The Devil in an age when Evil has been defeated and the world has been left out of balance. Unable to physically manifest in The New World, The Devil turns to his more faithful disciples to spread darkness across the land. Dracula, Bloody Mary, the Headless Horseman, the White Lady and other evil icons unite in an unholy crusade against the Demon Hunters and cultists who conquered the forces of evil once before.

In Rogue Lords players explore a 3D map thanks to a team of three Disciples of Evil and sow chaos and corruption, making important choices and engaging in challenging turn-based combat where outright defeat means game over and the end of the story… this time.

Each run is unique, with new paths, new encounters and new opportunities on every playthrough. Players might choose to burn a farm to the ground on one run or spare the land and recruit its residents to The Devil’s cause on another. Some choices are riskier than others, and the disciples’ talents will change the outcome of the encounter. Dracula can calmly persuade mortals with his vampiric charm while the Headless Horseman might end the conversation through sheer terror alone.

When all is lost, players can draw upon The Devil’s powers and use their harvested souls to transcend the bounds of the game world and cheat. Enemy health bars, luck and other variables can be manipulated at will to tilt the balance of power in Evil’s favour and literally change the game.

Rogue Lords will be released in 2021 for PC, PlayStation®4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch™.

Xbox Series X: Buy A Game Once and Play the Best Version Across Generations with Smart Delivery

by Will Tuttle

Here at Xbox, we’re building the future of gaming by putting players first and ensuring that you are at the centre and in control of your gaming experience. Whether you’re exploring an expansive library of Xbox Game Pass titles with more than 10 million of your fellow gamers or taking your gaming on the go with Project xCloud, it’s clear that the future of gaming is brighter than ever.

Nowhere is that more evident than with Xbox Series X, our fastest, most powerful console ever. Not only will Xbox Series X set a new bar for performance, speed and compatibility, it will empower the world’s greatest developers to create games that launch us into the future of gaming. Putting players first also means introducing a host of new features and technologies to improve their experience.

One of the most exciting of the technologies we’re introducing with Xbox Series X is Smart Delivery, which will ensure that you always play the best version of the games you own for your console, across generations. This technology is available for all developers, and all Xbox Game Studios titles that are Optimised for Xbox Series X, including Halo Infinite, will support Smart Delivery.

But what does that mean for you, the player? Well, it means that if you purchase the Xbox One version of a supported title, we will deliver the best version of it to your Xbox One, as usual. If you decide to jump into the next generation with Xbox Series X, we will automatically provide the Xbox Series X version of the game at no additional cost when it becomes available. You won’t need to do anything in terms of choosing a version to download. We’ll take care of all of that. And it’s not just limited to games that you purchase digitally; physical discs of Xbox games can also support Smart Delivery if the developer or publisher decides to implement it.

Below are a few different scenarios in which Smart Delivery will work across generations with the games and consoles you own now and those you may own in the future.  Smart Delivery will ensure that only the best version of the game will be installed on your hard drive, so you don’t have to manage your storage space:

  • If you own Gears 5 or are loving it via Xbox Game Pass now, you can play it today on Xbox One. Then, if you pick up an Xbox Series X this holiday, all it takes is a push of a button to download it and you’ll have the Optimised version of Gears 5 – available on day 1 at launch with the console – at your fingertips.
  • When Halo Infinite launches alongside Xbox Series X and Xbox One this holiday, you only have to buy the game once and you’ll get the best version for whichever console you own, or both.  If you pick up Xbox Series X for your living room, Smart Delivery will recognise that and deliver you the Optimised version there. If you decide to move your existing Xbox One to a bedroom or the office, Smart Delivery will recognise that too and deliver that version when you’re playing on Xbox One.
  • Lastly, some new and existing Xbox One titles will be Optimising their games after the Xbox Series X launches.  For example, if you buy Cyberpunk 2077 when it launches on September 17, you’ll be set to explore Night City on Xbox One.  If you pick up Xbox Series X at launch this holiday, you can play it there too in compatibility mode picking up exactly where you left off. Then, when CD PROJEKT RED delivers an Xbox Series X Optimised version of Cyberpunk 2077, you’ll automatically get upgraded once it’s available at no additional cost.

We’re also happy to confirm that Smart Delivery will be enabled for Xbox Game Pass titles that leverage it. Outside of our Xbox Game Studios titles, it will be up to the individual developer to determine whether they take advantage of Smart Delivery.

As was the case with our current backwards compatible titles, you won’t have to worry about losing any progress either. Thanks to our commitment to compatibility across generations, you can be assured that when you purchase a game on Xbox One today, your game library, progression and entire gaming legacy moves forward with you if you jump into the next generation with Xbox Series X.

But what about the games?  Below you’ll find the initial list of new and existing titles that will be Optimised for Xbox Series X and confirmed to support Smart Delivery. Please note: this is in addition to the thousands of games you’ll be able to bring with you to Xbox Series X via back compatibility on day one. As this list grows in the weeks and months leading up to the Xbox Series X launch, we’ll keep it updated to reflect any additions.

  • Halo Infinite
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
  • Destiny 2
  • DiRT 5
  • Scarlet Nexus
  • Chorus
  • Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
  • Yakuza: Like a Dragon
  • The Ascent
  • Call of the Sea
  • Gears 5
  • Second Extinction
  • Metal: Hellslinger

We hope this gave you a better idea of what we’ve got planned for Smart Delivery and how this new technology will ensure that the player is at the centre of the gaming experience. We’ll be sharing more on Smart Delivery and adding titles to the list above in the coming months.
