Narrative Puzzler Fire Tonight Sparks onto Nintendo Switch, PC Aug. 12

Narrative Puzzler Fire Tonight Sparks onto Nintendo Switch, PC Aug. 12

TORONTO – June 5, 2021 – Fire Tonight, a narrative puzzle experience from developer Reptoid Games and publisher Way Down Deep following a couple’s journey to find one another in a burning city, engulfs Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, and Mac on Thursday, Aug.12, 2021.

Young hearts are set alight in Maya and Devin, a young couple who found love in the big city. Their lives together make this place feel more like a home as they reflect on memories of their relationship. Love burns hot, but there’s a raging fire sweeping across town burning even hotter. Help Maya escape the flames, cross town, and find her way back to Devin in this trying time.

Guide Maya through alleys and over rooftops while evading the inferno and police roadblocks. Solve light environmental puzzles to clear obstacles from Maya’s path and stay out of the cops’ line of sight to remain safe and under the radar until she can reach Devin’s warm embrace.

The events of Fire Tonight take place in 1990, a time before cell phones that leaves Devin stuck in his apartment only able to worry for Maya’s wellbeing. Help him pass the time and calm his nerves by reflecting on the couple’s history. Relax for a moment, listening to Maya’s mixtapes and perusing mementos from their relationship to discover more about their time together.

Fire Tonight is inspired by Information Society’s song of the same name. The game features an original electronic soundtrack from composer Lex Metcalfe to jam out to while helping the young couple find a way to reunite in a blazing neon-tinted city steeped in ‘90s aesthetics.

“It’s easy to take for granted how much our loved ones mean to us,” said Simon Paquette, co-founder, Reptoid Games. “Fire Tonight gives players the chance to reflect on how love can stand against long odds in trying times. We look forward to sharing the game with everyone this August.”

Fire Tonight launches for Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, and Mac via Steam for $5.99 on Aug. 12. An introductory 20% launch discount will be available on both platforms during launch week. The original soundtrack will also be available for $6.99 with a special game bundle discount. To learn more, please visit the official site and join the community on Twitter and Facebook.

Mighty Goose Is Loose Today on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox Consoles

Mighty Goose Is Loose Today on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox Consoles

Featuring A New Star Goose And A Very Real Gun

TOKYO – 5 June, 2021 – Mighty Goose, the over the top, run-and-gun, titled goose game, developed by Blastmode and MP2 Games and published by PLAYISM, begins its utter destruction of PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S via backwards compatibility today.

Waddle, run, and gun through nine destructive levels clearing out high fidelity pixel art enemy bases so intergalactic nature can finally heal. Customize an honorable goose with a gaggle of gun arm upgrades and alternate ammo options to reunite the Mighty Goose squad. Rescue animal companions like Regular Duck to aid in combat with different and strategy-changing abilities like the Sprint Boots and Chonker Bombs.

The leader of team Mighty Goose is Mighty Goose, but his friends refer to him as Goose. As a professional avian space stalker, rivals are always bound to rear their ugly beaks, like fellow fowl Raven. The villainous Void King sends Raven and his army to imprison Goose’s animal friends in Void bases and take out the belligerently blaring bounty hunter for good.

Nothing can stop the chaotic and fun tones of Mighty Goose paying homage to and poking fun at beloved run-and-gunners of old. Expressive pixel art by Richard Lems (KUNAI) and a fist wing-pumping, high-energy soundtrack by Dominic Ninmark (Blazing Chrome) set a standard of quality for goose games everywhere that goose fans will remember for the ages.

“Honk honk honk, quack honk honk,” said Mighty Goose, star of Mighty Goose. “Quack honk hoooooonk quack honk quack quack quack honk honk quack!” We couldn’t have said it any better Mr. Goose, your berries and caviar are in your trailer as requested.

For those inspired by Mighty Goose, an official fan art contest will be held from release up until 6 p.m. PDT 28 June, with one grand prize winner receiving a Nintendo Switch. Post your submission on Twitter using the #mightygoosefanart hashtag and see the full rules here. Microids announces the opening of a new studio in Lyon!

Paris – June 7th 2021 – Microids is proud to announce the June 2021 opening of a new development studio in Lyon (France), named Microids Studio Lyon. With more than 500 collaborators worldwide, Microids is consolidating its teams and activities thanks to this new studio focusing on new adventure games.

The games industry veteran David Chomard, who worked for several publishers before managing his own studio for ten years, will lead the Microids Studio Lyon as Studio Director. To staff its teams, Microids Studio Lyon is recruiting two dozen professionals (artists, designers and programmers) with Unity engine experience on consoles.

This new studio is part of the development strategy initiated last year. Stéphane Longeard, CEO of Microids adds: “Since Microids had a 64% turnover increase between 2019 and 2020, it appeared logical for us to create a new studio while strengthening the existing projects and investments with the long time partner studios. We are delighted to entrust David Chomard, former Atari (former Infogrames Entertainment) employee, with the reins of this new studio. His experience and expertise will be crucial.”

Microids Studio Lyon completes the company’s pipeline allowing fully integrated internal project development. Microids will keep working with multiple studios already hard at work on more than 25 titles.

“I am delighted to once again work with Microids and leading this new studio. The production of a video game is a true adventure and I can’t wait to share more about the upcoming games developed by Microids Studio Lyon” declares David Chomard, Director of Microids Studio Lyon.

The Good Life Pushed to Fall, Playism Taking Over as Pubisher

SWERY’s The Good Life is not only getting delayed a bit but also is undergoing a change in publisher as it has been revealed that not only will the game be releasing in Fall instead of in the Summer but it will also now be published by Playism instead of the previous publisher The Irregular Corporation. This publisher swap has not altered the release console plans as The Good Life is still set to be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC for $29.99.

In The Good Life players take on the role of journalist Naomi Hayward who is drowning in debt and is at the end of her rope. Having accepted a request from The Morning Bell newspaper to “uncover the mystery of a small English town,” Naomi finds herself far from her home in New York, in Rainy Woods, known as “the happiest place in the world.” Upon beginning her investigation, Naomi–camera in hand—soon realizes that the town and its eccentric residents are hiding all sorts of secrets. She discovers an inexplicable phenomenon in which the townspeople transform into cats and dogs as night falls. Then, as just she’s looking into that particular mystery, a murder occurs.

Naomi herself eventually becomes able to transform into a cat or dog. Turn into a cat, and gain the ability to jump and climb all over town to explore; or transform into a dog, and use your acute sense of smell to track the town’s residents. Use your respective abilities as a human, cat, and dog wisely to more easily solve the various mysteries and incidents you’ll face.
